Dymetri began laughing as soon as she jumped. He hadn't really laughed in ages. Since he was alive. He sounded just as he remembered, as a boy who was supposed to be in college. The outside corners of his eyes crinkled when he laughed, and he only had one dimple on his right cheek. "That was so unbelievably adorable," he tried to say between laughs. "I swear, I'm not laughing at you." He looked at her with a genuine smile on his face, growing into a grin after she spoke. "Sure, you haven't, Lin. Sure you haven't."

Lin just stared at Dymetri for awhile as she watched and listened to him laugh. She hadn't heard a laugh like that out of him before, and she loved it. She had heard him chuckle, but not laugh so openly and freely like this. It was so adorable.
She smiled softly and, again, her hand found her way to his cheek. She rested her hand gently on the cheek that had the dimple, and her thumb caressed the dimple and the corner of his smile lightly.
"I've never seen you laugh like this before. I love your laugh. It's so open and sounds beautiful."

Dymetri blinked, his face surprised. Such a meaningless thing such as a laugh wasn't ever described in the way she just described it. Especially his own. His face softened, a smile appearing again. "Are you going to laugh for me so I could imagine it over and over, even when you're not around?" His smile faded. What did he just ask? He swallowed, his eyes widening and breaking eye contact just like moments before.

Lin drew in a sharp breath as she just stared at Dymetri for a little while. Her hand remained on his cheek, but her hand was absolutely still.
When she felt that her ability to speak had returned, she whispered, "You... you want to hear MY laugh? And you wish to imagine hearing it when I am not near you? Dymetri... No one has ever said such... something so nice to me before, and believe me, individuals have said nice things to me before. What you just said, though.... I do not understand the reasoning entirely, but I like how the words make me feel."
She paused at this, thinking about what had just escaped her mouth. She had never been so open with someone before, not about her emotions. Whether he knew it or not, he was still teaching her things, things about herself.
She smiled happily at him and said softly, "But I do not know what to laugh about. If you hear me laugh, I want it to be a genuine one."

Dymetri's eyes flickered to Lin a couple times, unaware of how her words made him feel. He then stared at the ground and smiled. He turned back to her and grinned. "I'll make you laugh, then." He softly pushed her hand away, stepping away from her. He looked at her and smirked, but then disappeared within his clothing. Having nothing to support them, his clothes fell into a heap. Suddenly, a small white head peaked underneath the pile. A white rabbit leaped out of the clothing, shaking itself off. It's belly had black fur while it had an indigo streak along it's spine. His round tail was a mixture of all three colors. Dymetri turned into a rabbit for Lin. He ran up to Lin, tucking himself underneath her chin. His used his whiskers and nose to softly tickle her, in an effort to make her laugh. But that wasn't the plan. After a couple moments, he fled back to his clothes. Stopping in front of them, he turned to her and began to dance, perched up on his hind legs. His paws swung in different directions, attempting to dance the 'Saturday Night Fever' dance, his ears moving along with him the entire time. He honestly looked hilarious, almost animated. You never saw an actual rabbit do that.

Lin had gasped loudly when she saw Dymetri turn himself into such a cute rabbit!! When he ran up to her, she cuddled him closely as he tickled her chin and face. That caused her to giggle loudly. Not laugh, but giggle.
"Dymetri that tickles!! Oh you're such a cute rabbit!"
When he leaped out of her arms, though, she was a little disappointed. She liked cuddling him! He was so soft.
But what she saw next completely made her disappointment vanish. When she first saw him moving, she was a little worried he was going into some type of spasm. Once she realized he was fine, though, she cocked her head to the side and continued to observe him. She had never seen the movie Saturday Night Fever, so she didn't recognize the dance. But when she saw that he was actually trying to dance and watched as his little paws did odd movements and his ears began to follow, she could not hold back any longer.
A pure, open laugh spilled from her lips. It started out small at first, but as Dymetri's rabbit form kept dancing, Lin's laughing grew louder. Her laugh sounded like small bells ringing in a nearby forest, as most Elves' laughter did.
Tears started falling down her cheeks she was laughing so hard, and she laid back on the ground with her hands on her stomach. Her whole body was almost shaking with the force of her laughter.

Satisfied, Dymetri fell back on all fours and scurried to Lin, changing back into a human before reaching her. He slid up next to her and smiled, lying down next to her. He was very close to her, but he no longer paid attention to that. Her warmth felt good, either way. He raised a thumb and wiped her humored tear away, chuckling at her. "You liked that, did you?" He memorized the tone of her laughter, how it blended in with any music he thought of perfectly. The only talent she had that was superior than his. His head was resting on his bicep, his hand hanging over his own head. The other hand remained on her cheek, his eyes with a small twinkle as he watched the beauty unravel before him. He actually forgot that he was naked.

Lin smiled happily up at Dymetri and nodded slightly. "I did enjoy that. I had no idea you could turn into a rabbit, and such a talented one at that."
She giggled softly again and then closed her eyes as she felt his hand against her cheek. His hand felt so strong, yet soft. Yes it was cold, but the reaction it caused inside of her was not cold at all.
When she opened her eyes, they met Dymetri's enchanting ones full force. They were pulling her in again, and she didn't mind one bit. She loved his eyes.
She whispered very softly, "I know I have said this before, but I love your eyes. If a person stares into them, they can be taken almost to another place entirely. And I love their steely color."
She reached up with one of her own hands and gently caressed the area of his face where his temple was with the back of her fingers.
She, too, did not notice that he was naked, for she would not have still been lying next to him if she had.

Deep in the recess of the library, Ophiuchus sneezed harshly, his long and loose white hair flying in front of his face, and the lesson plans he had jotted down in an ancient language scattered. His head hung for a moment before he straightened back up. He blinked.
"My rules-are-being-broken senses are tingling...."

He thought about her words and sighed. "That's what they're for. These aren't my eyes. These eyes were created to lure in prey and kill. These aren't my eyes," he repeated. Swallowing, he slid closer to her, their chests touching. "I know it may sound like an odd compliment, but you have a gorgeous bone structure. Many men would comment on the eyes, hair, or lips, but even if you have beautiful small details like that, I still look at the overall painting. And you, Lin, are a masterpiece." His eyes looked down upon her lips and back up to her eyes again repeatedly. He wanted to kiss her. At least give her that, after the spinning emotions that she's made him feel. Continuous arguments spiraled in his head, but he finally came to a pleasing conclusion. Dymetri closed his eyes and leaned forward into Lin, breathing her scent as he came. "May I kiss you?" he whispered, his lower lip softly burning from the small touch hers gave.

Chris looked back from one of the many books he had been reading, hearing sneezing. He silently opened the window and stepped out looking around. "For a school this is a pretty place at night" He flicked some hair out of his face and continued looking around the campus.

She had smiled softly at his compliment about her bone structure, but it was like what he had said about his eyes. Her bone structure was a common feature of the Elves. Not many people in the West were use to it because many had not seen Elves. Dymetri had, though. He probably had seen many Elves in his lifetime. She couldn't understand why he was so attracted to her when he hadn't been with any other Elves he had met. She was going to ask him that when his question had stopped all words inside of her brain.
Lin gasped loudly and her entire body seemed to freeze up. She had heard of this. She had seen her mother and father kiss briefly. Nothing more than that in front of the children, of course. But somehow, she didn't think this was going to be a brief kiss. And deep inside her, she didn't want it to be brief.
She had never been kissed before. Not even close. He was a professor, though, and she was a student. That was a big reason there why they couldn't, but a bigger, more obvious reason was ringing in her head.
She was an Elf, he was a Vampire. Her blood was lethal to him and a mere brush of his fangs could kill her instantly. They obviously weren't meant to be anything more than enemies...
But then why was she feeling like this? Why was her mind saying 'no' when every other part of her was saying 'yes'? She had always relied on her mind in the past. This time, though, she didn't want to.
It was hard to give up old habits, though. Her hand lifted up and seemed to dig itself into his hair without her barely noticing. Her breathing was very rapid and was coming out in small puffs against his lips. Her words were shaky when she spoke them.
"We... we can't. So many reasons why we can't... I've never kissed anyone before."
Her statements did not seem to connect logically, and that was because her last vestiges of logic were quickly disappearing. Despite what she said, she did not make one movement to move herself away from Dymetri or to even remove her hand from his hair.

Ophiuchus looked up. He had hearing more sensitive than a werewolf's, in part of his immense power, and in part of his type of power - snakes were extremely sensitive to even the slightest vibrations in the air or through the ground. So more accurately, Ophiuchus felt rather than heard someone else in the library. However, that section was closed to students for the time being. Jumping to conclusions, Ophiuchus decided that whoever else in the library was the source of his rules-are-being-broken senses going off. He gathered the stray papers and clipped them together, leaving them on the table he had been working at, next to a stack of books. They were all about healing herbs (Ophi could have written and edited the books himself, he considered them that inferior) and Ophiuchus wanted the curriculum to match up with whatever information the students might find in the library.
Ophiuchus cautiously stepped around the library. There was no one else there, and Ophi was about to give up before his eyes fell on a window that was slightly ajar. His body turned translucent, and Ophiuchus walked through the wall, leaving the window undisturbed. "Is someone out there?"

Using the hand on her cheek, he pulled her closer so that both lips were touching. "We'll be careful," he whispered, inhaling her scent. "I promise. I just need your permission. I won't do it without your permission."

Lin sighed softly and closed her eyes when his lips just barely touched his. They felt so soft.
To hell with 'rules'.
With her eyes still closed, she nodded quickly and also whispered, "Please..."
