Skills and Feats:
Here is the list of skills:
http://www.d20srd.org/indexes/skills.htmMost are pretty self-explanitory -- the more ranks you have in the Swim skill, the better you can swim, the more ranks in Jump, the better you can jump, the more ranks in Diplomacy, the better you can sweet-talk others, and so on. Your class will grant you a certain number of skill points to spend on skills, when you're creating a character, this number is multiplied by four to see how many you start with. Humans get four extra skill points when making characters, as well, and for every point of intelligence bonus you have, you get an extra four skill points to start with. You can have up to four ranks in a skill when you start out, and each rank costs one skill point. Your class has a list of which skills are considered 'class' skills for that class -- if it isn't a class skill for your class, you have to spend two skill points for each rank, and can only have up to two ranks in it.

Feats: A list of feats can be found here:
http://www.d20srd.org/indexes/feats.htmFeats are basically special qualities of your character. They might give you a bonus, or they might give you a new ability. Some feats have requirements you must meet before you can get it. Everyone gets one feat when starting out, except for humans, who get two. Some classes, like Fighter, give an extra feat.
Each feat is different, so you'll have to look at them to see what you might want. Feel free to ask for advice!
