Nicholas watched, rather horror-struck, as the lightning struck towards the prince and the fairy, Flora, who had been so helpful earlier. Thankfully, the electric bolt redirected itself to the metal rod instead, leaving the two in the clear. Hearing Algernon give a frustrated roar of annoyance, the knight sprinted into action just as Algernon was making his own run to get closer to Aurora.
He supposed Algernon hadn't paid his much mind, seeing him less of a threat than those with magical capabilities. Slightly offensive, but helpful in the long run.
Nic actually managed to to get right beside the running elf whose hands looked to be conjuring something new, crouching low and with a swipe of the foot, sent him stumbling. Not quite a successful trip, seeing as how the wizard regained balance, but enough, it seemed, to break his concentration of his last spell. A quick ready stance was set as that hateful glare settled on him. He had only seconds to do a rolling dive out of the away as miniature globes of what looked to be condensed energy shot toward him, leaving behind small crators in their stead.
"Indi! Mind working a bit more of that magic of yours over here?!" he asked, barely missing yet another shot.

((sorry for my dissappearing act but I've been ill over the last few days.))
"Sorry. I',m on it." Indi called to Nic at the knights beseaching. ~Time for incantations~ He thought, referoing to the strongers spells that he'd learned from his mentor. "Light above and Dark below. Lord and Lady intertwined. Sword and Chalice be as one. Unleash the holy magic of balance and harmony. Twilight Balance!" Indi called, as the air around him twisted into the forms of Light and Dark, Lord and Lady, Sword and Chalice, all in pairs. The air grew hot and waves of magical energy caused the world to waver for a moment before a great aurora colored scale shot from the ground as if to weigh the balance in Algernon. A great eight pointed star atop the scale began to glow and small orbs began to form in the scales cups, each one holding either a sin or valor that Algernon had committed in his lifetime. He alone would be able to determine what this spells damage would be by the sins he had committed. Only a perfect balance between good and evil could dissolve the spells effect on him.
"Let's see how you stop this one Elf." Indi said quietly, his body still surrounded by the aurora colored air.

Nolas (Clearly Al's not going to have that great of a nice-list scaling. sweatdrop So, what exactly is the effect this thing's supposed to have on him?) (( that's for him to decide on. I was trying to imply that when I said that "he alone would be able to determine the spells damage". Let's see what he can up with. I'm not expecting anything sever or anything like death or something. Just a royal a** whooping that makes him rethink his strategy woul be enough. not even that much if it causes him enough trouble to delay his immediate"I'm taking the prince now and your not stopping me" attitude for the moment.))

(I was more asking like.. is this perhaps more internal/external physical pain, maybe mental(maybe causing him to relive his sins). Something like that. Or is that also a decision for me?)

((It's entirely up to you what the spell does to him. I simply set the stage for you to make the decision of effect. I chose solely to set the stage and burn the script. It's up to the actors to pplay out their own creation of art and allow the audience to see and their ideas. Now then...be the actor that I know you were born to be and show us what you can come up with.))

[[Whysperwind, it is not Nolas's job to play an actor. This is not a stage, this is an rp forum. If you are going to create an attack, please describe the full effects of that attack. Nolas can't just make up the attack as well as what happens to his character-- that's not giving him much to work with. Please be more direct with your post. As a sidenote I'll add that all-powerful and all-consuming attacks are considered godmodding.
Thanks for understanding.]]

((It's not all powerful. It's not all consuming and I wasn't godmodding. I was allowing Nolas to decide how he was either going to counterattack or whether or not he wanted his character to recieve some form of damage/effect from the spell. If he counterattacked then fine, if he chose not to then I would have continued with the spells full effect in my next post. I apologize for the missunderstanding there but I cut the post short to give him the option of stopping Indi's spell or allowing the spell to affect his character. Also, in fairness to the us all, we are all actors when we RP because we are acting as someone we are not even if only by typing our actions. Believe it or not, it's still acting.))

[[Well, I clearly misunderstood due to the lack of information originally presented. Unfortunately, misunderstandings happen. Sorry to intrude where you had so clearly planned out your courses of action.
In fairness to you, I'll say my mention of godmodding was not directed AT you. It was a general reminder I hoped to broadcast. The fact that you took it so personally as to defend yourself really wasn't necessary, but I hope I haven't offended you.
We'll have to agree to disagree on the whole 'we are actors and life is a stage' bit. You seem very for the idea, and I don't buy it-- but this thread is not the place to discuss something of this nature. ]]

Algernon stared up at the giant scale, eyes narrowed curiously, skeptically. Balance and Harmony. Sword and Chalice. He was running over the lines spewed forth by the smaller boy while eyeing the ever forming orbs. He was noticing more and more of the small orbs were beginning to favor one side over the other. Light and Dark! His hefty handfuls of sins on one side and.. what appeared to actually be a few acts of valor on the other.
He understood just as he began to feel what was at first only a light tingle in his forearm, but it didn't remain that way for long. Seconds later, the nasty scar left there began to burn madly as if it was being replaced all over again. The elf gritted his teeth against the pain, but then there seemed to be another distraction altogether. In his head.. Visions? No. Memories, recounts of every sin commited flying through his head. It wasn't, however, the memories themselves that caused him to grasp at his head, looking as if trying to squish them out.
For each orb, as each image flew through his mind, it felt like thick needles were being driven into him as pressure started mounting in his head. The elf dropped to his knees and released a cry of both anger and pain.
Have to stop this, was all he could think of.
Twisting around on his knees, Algernon threw his hand toward Indi and from his palm flew what appeared to be a long, black rope, intended to wrap around and bind the boy in a tight force.

((Let's all try to get along, now, shall we? D: ))
Algernon's cries of pain and fury sent waves of shivers down Aurora's spine. "Whatever that last spell was, please make Indi promise never to use that on me," he murmured with a grimace. Flora, however, was not listening.
"Don't you dare attack my nephew!" she shouted. Again with the highly blinding, neon pink razor leaves, intended to slice away at the rope. Flora was deeply rooted in with her family -- there was no way she would ever allow any of them to be hurt. But Flora wasn't exactly a 'battle fiary.' She knew the spells, yes, and was quite adept at them... but it wasn't her strongest point.
"Dammit, Mint, where the hell are you....?" she muttered to herself.
((Oh, Sona, did you see my post for Will? *just making sure* O: ))

Just before Indi's spell had reached it's most devastating point, Indi was caught up in ALgernon's binding rope. He hadn't seen it coming fast enough to evade it and as he fell to the ground, trying his best to escape it, his other spells all came undone. Artemis changed back into the form of the rope he had been conjured from and the scale vanished, leaving a faint twilight shimmering in the dark air where it had been. "Lemmego. Lemmego." Indi whined as he fought against his bonds but he was silenced a moment later as the rope wrapped itself around his mouth, leaving him to mumbled through it in his urgency. He Managed to break his mouth free long enough to get out two more words, though he had no idea if the one they were meant for would hear them. "AUNTIE MIMS!" he called into the forest, hoping the blue fairy would hear his cry for help. She would be able to help far more than Flora in the fighting department. At least from what the two had always said, he assumed so.

"Here, as always," replied the rather self-satisfied voice of the green fairy. Flora's eyes narrowed slightly and she asked, "Just how long have you been there?" Mint shrugged. "A while. Since 'Rora's escape from the tower.... but, you know, I'm not allowed to appear until called. Rather like a vampire, don't you think?" Flora muttered something none to kind under her breath, pale arms crossed in front of her chest as she rolled her eyes up towards the sky.
"Whatever. Just do something useful now."
"As you wish," he replied with a grin. "Mims is the clean up party!" he called down to Indi. "I'm the battle major. Not that you'd know that...." He added the last part under his breath, rolled his eyes, and then sent a stream of miniature pixies towards the rope. The small figures immidiately began to gnaw it away, their sharp little teeth working exceedingly quickly.

During the fairies' brief conversation, Algernon's pain subsided into a numbed inner throbbing, allowing him enough control to pull himself back to his feet. His appearance had become quite altered from when he had first arrived not that very long ago. From undaunted elegance to now bloodied and obviously stressing. His forehead even seemed to gleam with a light film of sweat from that last attack.
But now back on his feet again, the elf went through a short series of hand motions before an outstretched arm looked to be swatting down at a nonexistent insect. Following the hand, the air seemed to instantly get a bit colder just as a rain of large, sharp ice shards began to pour from the sky over the group.
Once more Nicholas was thankful for his standing as a knight. The shards that actually touched him bounced harmlessly off his armor, though he did feel a couple skim threateningly past his legs. Running over to where Aurora stood, Nic pulled him down to his knees and held his shield protectively over both their heads.
Best not to let the one he said he'd protect get a icicle through the head. "Maybe popularity isn't such a good thing afterall," he stated, having to speak rather loudly to be heard over the crashing of ice on the steel shield. "And all this on your very first day out of that place."

"I think I'm going to call you 'Pepper' Mint from from now on because you've been hiding quite a bit of bite." Indi said quietly as the pixies gnawed far enough through the rope to break free. He just barely caught Mint' comment about not knowing which fairy did what best and he had to force himself to merely mutter under his breath as he conjured up a shield of vines to protect himself and Aurora, Flora and Mint. He didn't expect it to be perfect but until he had time to use an incantation it was the best he could do.
"You annoying, little, green, dust bunny." he muttered about Mint as he worked. "I'll have you know I trust my oldest aunt to protect me better than anyone except Flora." he finished just as the vines burst from the ground line an impregnable dome. They rose up and completely covered the three fairies and Aurora until the rain of ice shards stopped, then melted away like ice so they could fight back. "So there! Nyah!" Indi finished, sticking his tongue out at Mint after he'd managed to stop most of the shards. A few random ones fell from the vines they's stuck in and pinned themselves into the ground outside the ring and then vanished with the rest of the vines and shards.
