As if on signal, several mine-like objects shot up out of the water around the entrance and exploded, shooting blue sphere-like objects in every direction...and upon impact, this happened, just without the Sakura:

Areno's opponent stepped forward into the light...

"I believe we've already met, but I'll reintroduce myself..."

and then two more chimed in and also stepped into the light, to the sides of the first one...and they looked exactly the same...

All at once: "Potensharu...Shunketsu...and I've learned a new trick..."

A voice came forth from the darkness behind the 3 Shunketsus.

Voice, which sounded a lot like Shunketsu's: "Suiton: Suiryūdan no Jutsu"

The roof and floor between the Shunketsus and Areno collapsed and a torrent of water came rushing in...and then went rushing out, towards Areno's end of course...There was something strange about the water though...some hard substances were in it...

Hoshi didn't really stand much of a chance, but he did leave one surprise...a flashbang...and then he was pummeled...when vision would return to everyone...Hoshi's body was missing a layer of clothing...and that clothing seemed to have appeared on Kotai...it didn't do anything at the moment...except give Kotai a spiffy new jacket...

The middle Shunketsu waved his hand and a poof of smoke suddenly just occured in front of Areno's face...once it cleared however, which took less than a second...Areno would see Shunketsu's left fist with a kunai in front of his face...

Shunketsu: "Yamazuki!"

The speed at which Shunketsu came was odd...it was much faster than he was usually capable of...also, Areno would've felt something along his front-side, all along his body...it was a similar feeling as when he fought Tate...Shunketsu's Touketsu Yomi...a version of Tate's negation technique, except it only affected directly in front of Shunketsu, instead of a whole area...

Anywhos, Shunketsu's lower blow was actually his Bakudan technique...compressed flames wanting to go boom...

And Now a martial arts lesson with Furinji Miu...

"Hello nyah! Today we learn about Yamazuki, a technique within the discipline of Karate."



"As you can see in this picture, it is actually two simultaneous strikes. One is aimed for the head while the other is aimed for the gut. This is actually a very effective technique nyah since it is part of human nature to instinctively block all attacks to the face. Thus, while blocking the blow to the face, the opponent attention is drawn away from his gut, hence leaving the lower blow undetected and unblocked.

This technique is actually outlawed in Karate tournaments as it can be quite dangerous.

::hinata sighed, shaking her head slowly from side to side. She was not one to anger like Kotai, her other half, who now engaged in battle. Oddly enough she seemed rather devoid of emotion, checking on those of their team that remained in the area, sending those who were injured out with other nin. He face was blank, her tone polite and soothing as she sent out the others that would get in the way rather than help::

::She then turned let milky eyes scan over the scene before her, byakugan gaining her a rather accurate assesment of what was going on. A slight twitch of one corner of her mouth was the only thing that would give away any feelings, and only those who knew how to read her well::

Kotai stood by the octagon, and frowned, before kicking some dirt on it. "Alright. I want a Snow technician on this geometric thing here. I want to know what it does, and why it was on my back." In the meantime, he kept in constant communication with Teki and his team of Iteza, who were keeping watch above the canyon.

"The instant you see Shuten and Tetsujin, let me know, we'll commence our attack when we're back at full strength."

The Iteza were all hidden amongst trees and rocks and dips in the ground, a very stealthy bunch of warriors. They were Grass' shining elite, after all, and a Village as small as Grass surviving due to them had to be proof enough of their skill, as well as that of their veteran leader, Tekikaku.

Tekikaku waited out in the open, which would be insane for a sniper, except he was practically invisible while standing still. "Understood, Mission Leader. I will keep you posted of all movement topside. Over and out."

Areno threw his left hand forward, enveloping the Bakudan in a layer of compressed air, keeping it from exploding. In this way was the fiery cannonball also sent back at Shunketsu's body, feeding off of the superimposed oxygen layer. By the time it suddenly reversed direction back at Shunketsu, it was already a deal stronger than the original explosion.

Kotai placed his hand gently on top of Hinata's. "The Sand kid doesn't look like much, but I've already seen things from him I didn't think possible. He might do alright." He didn't sound all that sure, not knowing the Suna-nin, but the other Sand ninjas didn't seem bothered.

The Sand wayline commander shook his head as Kotai looked to him for an answer. "That monster in there is our curse and one of our most potent weapons. If it doesn't succeed, what good is it? A demon in human form, nothing more."

Kotai frowned at this, but continued to watch the battle for a moment longer. "Time to find our objective." He sent aloft a swarm of Destruction Bugs and ordered them into the hallway, spreading out to search the base thoroughly for anything of note. His eyes lit up with green chakra that could be perceived as fire that sectioned off and faceted his eyes into thousands of tiny squares. The Kotai-created Insect Scout technique.

Areno was already leaping to the ceiling by the time the negation wave rolled over his previous position. It was almost like he had eyes in the... wait, looking closer, it could be seen he actually DID have eyes on the side of his head. Ew, that was creepy-sick.

Areno ran across the ceiling quickly before tossing down a whole scroll of explosive notes into the Shunketsu crowd. "Katsu!" Several inches out of arm's reach, the whole damn thing went up in flames and explosive power, like a whole crate of HE 'nades going off at once in a confined space. The young killer was not safe from the forced blast radius, himself, however, he curled up into his defensive shell and super-charged the current of wind in his air-barrier to keep him safe from harm.

Areno's smile changed... becoming more malevolent as his incisors lengthened. "Boring... so boring. Wasting all my time here with you freaks when I could be fighting worthy opponents. Enough playing. Asobiwa Owaria. Nake. Sakebe. SOSHITE SHI'NE!" =Kurokongouseki Ayatsuri Inshou= Drawing the carbon from the Flame Clones before him, the black seals on Areno's palms lit up brilliantly as he slapped them together, and then pressed them down into the floor. From the floor arose a sparkling sphere of diamond surrounded by lead on the back hemisphere. It seemed mostly hollow, with an array of diamonds stacked end to end pointing forward, the entire inner portion of the hollow sphere filled with a smoky substance of free floating carbon.

"Smile for the camera..." Areno snapped the fingers on his left hand, emitting a burst of light through the pinhole of the sphere's lead glove, and a wide-spread carbon laser lanced forth, cutting through metal, hallway, and Shunketsu alike, spearing at the speed of light. With the lack of space to move around in, dodging something that was already moving at the speed of light becomes pretty much impossible.
