Fine.... Sissy dies in Episode 11. There was just no way to kill her off during Overture. Here's some info for the next episode... - Where as the last couple epsiodes seemed wholly centric on Jeremy and Aelita dealing with the blade children, they play only minor roles in Overture, as Ayumu goes after them on his own this time. But strangely enough... when the blade children are threatened by another hunter... he winds up helping them. The episode in centric on Eyes, Kosuke, and Ayumu, as they try to defeat a hunter who plots to kill Eyes during his concert on Christmas Eve... I made more of these. Jeremy and Franz are almost done, but it's going to be a lot harder to do Ulrich, Odd, and Yumi. They make take a while.

Episode 10 will be online momentarily. However, I'm postponing my work on Code SPIRAL for now... to pursue a more... entertaining project. I'm going to do an English fan-dub of the movie "Deathnote" with myself and my friends. I'll probably be voicing "L". If you've never heard of the movie, check out the trailer here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ9UatoNiMEI couldn't write more Spiral right now if I wanted to, because Ruriko Matsunai borrowed my Spiral DVDs. I still plan to work on my other projects, but I'm gonna be putting a lot of work into the Deathnote movie. I'll let you know when I finish the English trailer.

Code SPIRAL - 10 - overture
Kosuke had told the truth... only a few minutes later, Jeremy arrived in a big hurry. "Aelita! Are you o...ok?" He said to her, but stuttered when he saw the body lying on the floor. "Wha... what happened?" "Oh Jeremy! It was horrible!" She embraced him, still trembling from witnessing the murder. It took a few minutes for Jeremy to calm her down enough to explain what had happened. "I... I was just in the library doing some research on the blade children... but this guy just showed up and gased me. He kidnapped me and brought me here..." Aelita tried to explain. "But... Kosuke showed up and saved me... but then he killed him like it was nothing..." "Did he say anything about why he was after you?" Jeremy asked her. "He... he said that... I'm one of the blade children..." She answered hesitantly. "what?" Jeremy asked bewildered. "But that's impossible!" "He somehow got ahold of my x-rays from in the hospital..." She pointed to the envelope on the table. "In the x-rays, I'm missing the seventh rib... just like them..." Jeremy glanced at her curiously, then opened up the envelope, closely examining the x-ray. It was just as she had said. "But that still doesn't explain why he..." "Kosuke called him a hunter..." Aelita tried to explain. "He says they want to kill all the blade children... but he didn't say why..." Jeremy stared at the man's body. Under any other circumstances, he would be very shaken... but he was too concerned for Aelita to let it bother him. And something else was on his mind... why had he brought Aelita to the factory? Had he just picked a random abandoned building, or did he know what was five floors below? "Did Kosuke tell you anything else Aelita?" Jeremy asked, opening to delve more clues out of the situation. "Well he..." Aelita started to tell Jeremy that he had offered to tell her everything, but for some reason stopped. "No." She said, and Jeremy thought nothing more of it. Aelita was afraid... afraid that when she did get the truth from Kosuke, that she would learn yet again that her entire life was a lie. "Wha-what are we going to do with the body?" Aelita asked him. "Nothing for now." Jeremy replied. "If we move it from the factory, police will find it, and we'll be implicated through fingerprinting and DNA. If we call the police and have them come here, saying we just found it, they'll question us for trespassing in this building, and they'll likely discover the lab." Jeremy grabbed the negatives and gestured for Aelita towards the door. "We'll seal off this room... and act like it never happened, I guess." Aelita nodded nervously. "Come on... let's go home..." He grasped Aelita's hand as they headed for the tunnel back to the school, it was almost midnight when they arrived.
As the next two weeks passed, Aelita still did not tell Jeremy about Kosuke's offer, nor did she use the number to call him. Xana was behaving rather cooperatively, only launching two simple attacks which were easily averted and did not even require a return to the past. They heard no news of the blade children either... and all their investigations had come to a grinding halt shortly after the incident. Jeremy's father continued to badger him about his dissapearences and Aelita, but he always managed to dodge his efforts. But that only made his father more suspicious. Before they knew it, Christmas Eve was upon them, and a very light snow blanketed the ground. Ayumu remained at the school over break for lack of anything else to do. Aelita would naturally stay as well, and Jeremy planned to do the same, until he received a phone call. "Jeremy? It's me." His father said. "Oh... hi Dad." Jeremy responded casually. "LIsten... I know... I know I've been bothering you a lot over the last few weeks... I'm sure there's a good reason why you're hiding something from me... but... I want to put it aside for a while." His father said sincerely. "Listen... tommorrow is Christmas eve eve... why don't you come spend your break with me? I promise I won't ask you any questions about it again until after school resumes." Jeremy considered his offer. Knowing how cunning his father was, this was probably a trap of some sort. "Well... I... I kinda made plans... you see my... uh... girlfriend..." Jeremy said awkwardly. "Can't go home for the break... so I'm going to keep her company..." Jeremy offered the excuse. "You mean Aelita Stones?" His father asked. "Well... yeah..." Jeremy said awkwardly. "Well... if it's OK with her parents... she can come to. It'll be the three of us..." Thomas offered. "And I won't interogate her either..." He quickly added. Jeremy's first inclination was to quickly decline... but an idea finally formed in his head... a plan to get his father off his back about Aelita. If he wanted information... he'd give it to him. "I'll check and see if it's OK with her and her parents." "I'll want to talk to them myself, naturally..." "That's not a problem." Jeremy grinned. "I'll give her parents your number, they should be calling you later today." Jeremy hung up. "If this works... things could get a whole lot easier..." Jeremy smiled, and then headed down stairs to explain his plan to Aelita.
"So... the two of you are taking off some where for a week, and I get to sit here and do jack." Ayumu muttered as he lay in his room, talking to Jeremy over the phone. "What exactly do we do if Xana attacks while you're both away?" "I've temporarily transferred Aelita's "guardian" status to your virtual form." Jeremy explained. "That means that until I switch them back, you'll be able to use Code Lyoko in the tower to deactivate them." "You can do that?" Ayumu said with some surprise. "It's only temporary... and while it's equipped to you, Aelita won't be able to use towers. It's just until break is over. I've even set up the supercomputer to run virtualization for you using a voice command. It's fool-proof..." "You always claim you plans are fool-proof... name one time it actually had been." Ayumu argued with him. "And why do I have to babysit Xana anyways?" "Well... I risked my neck... literally... fighting the blade children for you during the week you were locked up... so you owe me." Jeremy explainned. "Plus, if things get too out of hand, we're only about twenty minutes away from the factory if we take the train." "Fine..." Ayumu sighed. "Hope you two enjoy yourselves..." Ayumu hung up his phone. Jeremy leaned back in his chair and smiled. It was all coming together. After Aelita had agreed to his plan, he had used the voice synthsizer to have "Peter Stone" call his father and give Aelita permission to stay with them. Jeremy's father had asked Mr. Stone a few questions, which Jeremy answered with flat-out lies. He and Aelita had formulated a complete life history for "Aelita Stone" including family, places of residence, everything she could possibly draw on to tell his father. His theory was that if Aelita came right out and told Jeremy's father about herself, his suspicion would immediately drop and he would most likely believe what she said. If it worked, the worst of Jeremy's problems with his father would be over. That day, they both left the school on a train to the main city, where Thomas Belpois' apartment was located. Meanwhile, Ayumu planned an expedition to the hospital...
On the afternoon of Christmas Eve, Eyes sat in front of a piano on the stage of an outdoor theater on the outskirts of town. He was rehearsing for his performance that evening. As he played, the organizer of the concert stood on the edge of the stage, eyes closed, listening intently to the music with a broad smile on her face. As Eyes finished the piece, the woman clapped as she stepped towards him. "Simply beautiful, Mr. Rutherford!" She applauded him. "There's still some time before the show... is there anything else you wanted to go over?" "Do you have the set list?" He asked. "Oh, yes... of course!" She handed him a piece of paper. Eyes stared at it intently for a moment, and then held it in front of him. "I'd like you to distribute candles amongst the crowd." Eyes said. "What?" She asked with confusion. "This piece here." Eyes pointed to one of the scores on the set list. "When I play this piece... shut off all the lights and have everyone light the candles..." "Oh! Such a romantic performance!" The organizer squealed with delight. "I'll order the candles right now!" She said as she hurried off the stage. When Eyes was alone, he stared at the piano as he spoke again, but made sure no one could hear him. "Romantic performance... perfect for something so petty as a charity concert..." He muttered, and then stood up and headed for the trailer that had been prepared for him. He stepped inside and sat down, ruffling through a number of sheets of music strewn about his desk, trying to get him organized, when his cell phone rang. "Hello?" He asked. "Merry Christmas, Rutherford..." A suspicious voice spoke to him. "In five hours time... you will be a dead man." Eyes suddenedly tensed as he glanced at the clock in his room, which displayed 3:00. "What an elaborate christmas gift... did you come up with that yourself?" Eyes replied sarcastically, although he knew it was no laughing matter. "Don't take it so hard... you are the top dog after all..." "So... I expect I'll be getting a rather explosive package soon..." "Hahaha... don't you know? I'd never use a bomb on you Rutherford... I'd prefer not to mess up your pretty face... no... the sudden and terrible death of the great Eyes Rutherford will be a clear message for the rest of the blade children... play time is over." Before Eyes could say anything else... the connection suddenedly died.
"Hunters..." Rio muttered, acompanied by a swear word, as she sat up in her bed. "So... it's starting... Yamato must have been the early bird. Or maybe my killing Yamato scared the others off a bit..." Kosuke said as he stood by the window. Eyes say silently in a chair, having just told them about the phone call he had received. "He's threatening all of us!" Kosuke exclaimed. "I bet he will use a bomb." Rio replied. "Never... a bomb would be too simple." "Exactly. The hunter might realize we'd dismiss it as a possibility because of it's simplicity..." "There will be no bomb." Eyes interuppted them. "The time the hunter indicated is the start of the concert. With that much time, we can easily find a bomb anywhere on the premises." "But here's what I don't get..." Kosuke stopped him. "He could easily bump you off in a number of ways at numerous times... so why did he go out of his way to tell us about it?" "He must be very confident... it's like he's taunting us... basically telling us that resitance is futile." "And if he also intends to send a message to the blade children with my death... he will make it look like an accident." "A display of power." Kosuke said. "Even with all those witnesses, he'll find a way to make it look like an accident. He wants to prove just how easy it is to kill one of the blade children... the b*****d must think he's some kind of hot shot..." Kosuke pouned his fist into his hand. "I'll kill him..." "You will do nothing... I will take care of this myself." Eyes stopped him. "Wha... what are you talking about?" Kosuke stepped towards him menacingly. "This isn't just about you! He's declared war on all the blade children!" "Rio is still an easy target. If anything happens to me... I leave you in charge. Take Rio and hide." Eyes said as he stood up. Kouske froze with shock. "Rutherford..." He muttered with surprise. Eyes' cell rang, and he picked it up hastily. "Four hours left Rutherford..." The hunter's voice came threw the line, and then abruptly hung up. "The hunter?" Kosuke asked. "Abandon any notion of this being a decloration of war... our fight is not nearly so clean and simple as that." Eyes stepped out of the door, and was surpised to see Ayumu leaning against the wall outside. He hesitantly glanced at him, and then just kept walking. Ayumu sighed, and then stepped into the room.
"What?!?!?!" Rio exclaimed as she held the small package Ayumu had brought. "A christmas present?!?! But I..." "Don't worry about it... I have the feeling you blade children aren't as bad as you'd like us to believe." Ayumu stopped her. "If you're done, then get out of here." Kosuke ordered him. "Sorry... not quite done yet. Where's my brother?" "Gah... look, I already told Jeremy, I don't know anything about Kiyotaka." "Then what's a hunter?" Ayumu asked, causing both Kosuke and Rio to jump slightly. "I... I don't have to answer to you!" Kouske yelled. "Calm down... I realize you're worked up because your friend is being targeted..." "You Jerk! You were listening in on us!" "It's just like he says!" Rio joined the argument. "We don't know where Kiyotaka is! Nobody knows!" Ayumu glaread at them both hesitantly. He didn't like it... but he could tell they were both telling the truth. "So... why doesn't Eyes just cancel his concert?" Ayumu asked. "That's just what the hunter wants..." Kosuke said as he gestured Ayumu to follow him out of the room. "So it's OK to put the audience at risk too?" "Little Narumi... you couldn't possibly hope to understand this situation. Now butt out." "Fine... if you won't tell me, then I'll just take it upon myself to find this hunter and..." "Kill or be killed!" Kosuke jumped in front of him, an enraged look on his face. "That's how we live! Imazato was the first hunter... Yamato was another... you can even consider Xana to be one of them. Do you understand what I'm saying?" "If you're trying to say you have a reason for what you're doing... then I have a reason too." Kosuke stared at him disgustedly for a moment, and then walked away. "Fine... play with fire. But don't come crying to me when you get burned."
Eyes stood on the stage back at the outdoor theater. "It looks like the candles will be here just in time, Mr. Rutherford..." The organizer said to him. "Glance over the schedule and make sure it's alright..." She said as she handed him a piece of paper and then scurried off to check on something else. Eyes only started to glance at the paper, but he was distracted when Kosuke and Ayumu arrived. "What are you doing here?" Eyes demanded. "Thought you might be lonely, so I came to keep you company." Kosuke said casually. "Oh, and this idiot won't stop following me." He pointed behind him to Ayumu.
Two hours later, the three of them sat in Eyes' trailer. "There's no sign of the lights being tampered with..." Ayumu said, having just checked them. "The stage is made of fiberglass, so he can't electrocute you..." Kosuke added. "The piano is safe... it's undamaged." Eyes said as he stared at the schedule. "Gah..." Kosuke muttered as he twiddled his thumbs. "Can you think of any other possiblites?" "Underground... the gas pipes..." Ayumu suggested. "Out of the question." Kouske shot him down. "A flamboyant attack like that would attract way too much police attention. There's no way he could make it look like an accident. The whole point of making it look like and accident is to avoid police intervention." Kosuke explained redundantly. The cell phone laying on the table rang again, and Eyes picked it up. "Figure anything out yet?" The hunter said cockily. "You have two hours." He hung up. Eyes flipped the phone closed. "Seems I've got two hours..." Eyes said. "Damn!" Kosuke cried out in frustration. "I just figured it out! Poison!" Kosuke exclaimed. "Eyes, did you eat that food they catered?" "Well..." Eyes started to reply. "I thought of that... so I brought him some food from a burger place down the street. I switched it with the food on his tray just to be safe." "Hm... I thought that burger tasted bland..." Eyes joked.
As more and more time passed, they sat there in silence, Kosuke's nervousness physically manifested itself as he began to tap his foot with irritation and a feverish pace. "Would you stop that, it's become quite annoying..." Eyes scolded him as he straightend his tie. "No matter how you look at it there's just no way to set a trap on stage... maybe it was somehow poison..." Kosuke frowned. "What's a hunter? Why is he trying to kill you?" Ayumu tried to ask Eyes. "Keep quiet." Kosuke stopped him. "What are the blade children?" He asked Kosuke. "I said shut up!" Kosuke rose out of his seat. "Why are you trying to... gah!" Ayumu stood up as well to confront Kosuke, but found himself grabbed in the chest. Somehow or another, Kosuke had managed to get a grip on his rib cage. "I'll tell you why!" He shouted and then squeezed on one of the ribs. "Because were missing one of these!" Ayumu grimaced in pain. "Kosuke... enough." Eyes ordered him to stop. He roughly released Ayumu and sat down again. Ayumu silently walked out. Kosuke groaned. "What was Kiyotaka thinking? What's that guy supposed to do to help us anyways? How is he expected to save the blade children?" "You must have been expecting something from him as well... otherwise you would not have allowed him to come." "Tch." Kosuke muttered. "You want me to go get him?" "Yes. And do me a favor along the way..." Kosuke help up a paper bag.
Kosuke returned an hour later with Ayumu, as well as Eyes' laptop. "You put the bag inside, right?" Eyes asked Kosuke. "Yeah." Kosuke replied. "But out of curiosity, why are you trying to virtualize your leftovers?" "I'm going to scan them..." Eyes launced a program on the laptop. "To analyze it and see if it was poisoned." After a few seconds, Eyes closed his eyes and shut the laptop. "The food was clean." "Eyes... you should cancel the concert. We still don't know how the hunter is attacking." Ayumu urged him. "I absolutely will not." Eyes said firmly, and his phone then rang. He reached for it, but Kosuke beat him too it and flipped it open. "Thirty minutes..." The voice said. "You will not get away with this..." Kosuke threatned. "Incidently... I don't you poison..." The voice said before hanging up. "DAMN! He's been bugging us!" Kosuke shouted as he threw the phone of the floor. "He know everything we've been doing!" He shouted as he began to overturn objects in the trailer, looking for the bugging device. He found the small black box latched beneath a cabinet. He ripped it out and smashed it against the floor, stomping on it angrily. He knelt down and examined the remains of the device. "This thing doesn't have a very big broadcast range... that b*****d must be close by..." He muttered. Outside, the audience was starting to arrive, they were being handed the candles with their admission tickets. The organizer burst into the trailer unannounced. "We're on standby, Mr. Rutherford!" She exclaimed before ducking back out. "Call off the show! Now!" Kosuke urged Eyes. Eyes said nothing as headed for the trailer door. Kouske blocked his exit. "This is no time to be stubborn!" "Step aside." Eyes ordered him. "No! I won't let you be killed!" "We die when we turn our back on fate." "You're gonna die out there!" "You would do the same!" Eyes argued back. "Rutherford!" Kosuke shouted angrily. "Just let him go." Ayumu said, but then nodded his head for them to follow him.
A few minutes later, they stood just inside the tree line around the theater. "Why'd you bring us out here?" Kosuke demanded. "He probably had more than one listening device. It's too risky to talk in there. The hunter can't know are plan." "Wait... you've figured it out?" Kosuke said with surprise. "Yeah... but we're running really short on time..." Ayumu explained. "Eyes... go back and stall the show by five minutes. That short of a delay won't make him suspicious. During that window, we'll incapacitate the hunter." Eyes nodded and headed for backstage.
A man sat perched on top of one of the lighting towers, looking down over the crowd and stage. He grinned as he stared at his watch. "Three more minutes..." He said. He reached behind him drawing out a large metal case. His right hand, with one of the rings with a Xana mark on them on his pinky finger, undid the clasp, revealing an assembaly sniper rifle with scope. He began to put it together...
"The hunter will kill Eyes with a sniper attack!" Ayumu shouted to Kosuke as they ran. "What? How do you know?" He asked. "I'll explain later once we stop him!" "Just so we're clear... if Rutherford gets killed, I'll kill you!"
Eyes walked up to the organizer. "I'm beginning two minutes early. Also... I'm moving one song in the set list..." "But..." "Just do it." Eyes ordered as he indicated the song on her piece of paper. "Yes, sir." She said, and quickly relayed a change of orders to her light operators. The man on top of the tower, having completed his assembly, aimed his scope at the bench of hte piano down below. The crowd cheered as Eyes stepped out onto the stage, carrying a large, lit candle, which he placed on top of the piano before he sat down. "Eyes! We told him to delay the show!" Kosuke shouted with annoyance. "What the hell is he doing?" Ayumu shouted back as they kept running, their voices drowned out by the crowd. "So... it looks like you're ready to die..." The man said as his watch ticked. "Where's he hiding?" Kosuke demanded. "Given the range of vision and ease of escape... the front right lighting tower facing the stage!" Ayumu pointed up as they ran towards it. They could both make out a faint shadow that was obscuring the lights. "There he is!" Kosuke exclaimed. "I'll distract him! You come around from behind!" Ayumu ordered, and they split up. Eyes placed his hands on the keys. "Curtain call... Rutherford..." The hunter muttered with a delight. Eyes played the first note, and all the lights went out. The only light came from the long candle on his piano. But moments later, it was joined by dozens of other lights. The audience was lighting their candles. The hunter had a hard time seeing through such faint light, but by the time there were another lit candles to give him the light to aim properly... the heat waves be given off my the candles were making the air in the entire area shimmer. His view of Eyes in the scope swam like a mirage... he could not get a clear shot. "Damn you..." The hunter muttered as he aimed for what he thought was Eyes' heart. "Don't shoot!" Shouted Ayumu as he jumped up in front of the hunter, having just scaled the tower. The hunter did shoot, but it was a wild shot that missed, richocheting off the fiberglass floor of the stage, and the gun's silencer caused no one to hear the shot. And instant later, Kosuke grabbed the man from behind, having scaled the back of the tower. "Busted..." Kosuke grinned as he put the man in a headlock. The two struglled for a minute, but the adult managed to overpower Kosuke and break free. Before Kosuke could catch him again, he ripped out one of the lighting cables and used it to propel down the side of the tower. "Get back here!" Kosuke screamed, but before he was a quarted of the way down the ladder, the man had already dissapeared into the woods. "Damn!" Kosuke pounded his fist on the railing. Ayumu glanced over at Eyes. "What was he thinking? He purposely made himself a target..." "It was his way of defying the hunter... as if to say, take your best shot." "He's insane. He got lucky with those candles blocking the sniper's view. He was reckless." "Reckless doesn't begin to cover it..." Kosuke agreed. "But we've all had our backs against the wall since they day we were born. Reckless is just a way of life for us." "If you say so..." "How did you know it would be a sniper attack?" "That bugging device... a pro would have used a much more sophisticated one. He knew we'd find it. The fact he went out of his way to tell you he was listening was proof of that. That's when I realized it... it was all just a game to distract us from a simple shooting. It was all a simple ruse to disguise a simple, but effective sniper attack." Ayumu turned to walk back to the school. "Hold on... I thought we were supposed to be enemies... why did you help us? Why did you save Rutherford?" "To be honest... I don't really know..." Ayumu said as he walked away. "By the way... Merry Christmas." He waved as he walked back to the school.

My TrailerThe more I look into Deathnote, the more blown away I am. It almost makes me want to do ANOTHER fan-fiction... but there's just no way to drag Deathnote into the CL universe. It would be sweet if there was, and I'd do it at a moment's notice. There's just no way to cross such a tech-oriented show like CL with such a magic oriented series like Deathnote. Plus, Kira could kill any of the characters almost instantly, so it just wouldn't work. Although... "L" would be INCREDIBLE in the CL universe. He's got Jeremy's intelligence but Odd's personality... that's nuts. Still... now that I've downloaded the movies, I'm getting a cast together now. I should have at least a little bit of it done by the end of the summer.
