Aphismet
Aph picked up the dice again and gave it another try. "Argh! Almost enough for Vyn, just one too many!" He smirked. It would be hard to win these things! And why was he trying anyway, he could just make himself one if he wanted... Just the thought of winning is what was driving him.

Rivener floated closer to Eiry's booth, sneaking along the side of the aisle, ducking from kiosk to kiosk, like a spy. He grinned. He loved catching Eiry unawares, the ghostly Raevan would always freak out if he found Riv photographing him, but Rivener couldn't help it. Inching out from behind the last booth, Riv waited until Eiry looked pretty much his way, and then snapped a picture.

The flash must have alerted his little brother, so Rivener dashed away with a chuckle, to escape safely to his Refreshment booth. He'd go buy a Kiss from his brother later.

[[Sorry for a late reply! D:]]

Eiry was floating dejectedly behind his booth , glancing around with hopeful red eyes when suddenly he turned and he saw a bright flash. Blinking quickly, he rubbed at his orbs. At first he thought it was the glancing light from something bright, but then he started seeing the familiar colorful dots from Riv's digital camera. Gasping loudly, Eiry threw his hands all over his little body and checked himself in a panic.

"MY SOUL!!" he cried weakly, patting himself down. When he was assured that his soul was still intact, Eiry tried to calm himself down and he gripped tight to the table. With cautious eyes he glanced about to watch for his mischievious camera-weilding brother.

Isi was quiet, watching his adopted big brother with silent anticipation as he and another girl whom he didn't know talk and roll dice together. Musing at the dice, he stubbornly picked them up again and tried another roll as his brother and he exchanged a few happy words and went their own ways. They'd meet up later.

The frustrating little dice didn't give him what he wanted.

Ray Kit smiled back on the woman's comment on the dice. He felt more relax when talked with kind people, "Yes it is. I just rolled only once." The man looked the new number she got, it was not the winning numbers, "I'll try again too" He rolled the dice while introducing himself, "I am Ray Kit, the cook of the labs. Nice to meet you Miss. What is your name may I ask?" He couldn't give up on his too polite habit when met new faces.

"141. Not again," He let out a sigh, "but I won't give up." Starting to prepare the new dice.

Myst smiled at Ray Kit's introduction. It was always nice to meet new people. "Nice to meet you too Ray Kit. I'm Mystaira, Myst to most who know me." she said as she picked up the dice for a third time. "Cook of the labs, you say? Sounds like a fun job." she commented, tossing the dice into the pan. Third times the charm they say... Though sometimes thats off by a number or two.

"106..." she said gazing at the dice, before turning to Ray Kit, "How long do you think it'll take before someone actually gets a winning number?" she asked with amusement.

Despite the weather and happenings within her own life that don't need to be addressed in length, Mouse had found the time and the whim to get out of the house for a while and see if anything was interesting in going on.

The result? An all-terrain-Jeep-- that looked as if it had literally been on all terrains-- parked somewhat haphazardly in the Lab's lot, and the woman wearing her usual assortment of green clothing walking inside out of curiosity as to what was going on in there. She had stopped by last Christmas for an interesting little contest and the happenings of that place had nagged at the back of her mind since. Besides, she'd been out of it for a while; she deserved to go to a party!

And she gravitates towards the refreshments table almost instantly... after all, who in the right mind could resist free food, let alone baked yams?! Gazing across it to see which server might be most friendly, she works up the gall to ask, "Hey, uh... do I just take some, or...?"

Looking over his shoulder, Isi smiled at the man who was standing behind him. He looked like a cook type and the boy watched his numbers. It didn't look like anyone had won yet. Turning back he looked at the dice with a disproving eye. Growling at the dice, the boy muttered and snatched them up again, "This is for little Eiry," he said again at the dice, rolling them in his palm, "You're going to give Eiry something, won't you?"

Isi rolled the dice again, but they didn't give him anything. He frowned at the dice and gave them an evil eye.

"Myst," Ray repeated, tried to remember her name, "It's fun job because the labs have lot of interesting things, especially for raevans. I applied here because they're my main reason." Mystaria rolled her dice. Missed out the winnings again.

"I wonder... It's sure is endless rolling dice." He shrugged and rolled his dice.

"169, hmm...?" Ray let out a sigh again and noticed a boy in front of him, he urged to speak to the boy, but something kept him remained silence.

"Not again and again, haha." Laughing wearily, "Now I really wonder are these dices playing tricks on us?"

Isi suddenly overheard an amused, almost exasperated, statement: "How long do you think it'll take before someone actually gets a winning number?" The crippled boy looked up over his shoulder and muttered, "Too long."

Picking up the dice again, the boy attempted to roll the dice again in between his palms and breathed into the space he created in between his thumbs. That was the trick his ex-adopted grandmother did. She would blow upon the dice and they would give her what she wanted. Maybe it would work this time?

"Ahh, Riviner, that's an interesting name," Sam said feigning innocence, "'cause I was expecting something more, I dunno, numerical." Sam had as much tact as a drunken bull, but he eyed Aphismet innocently as if he had said something completely normal. "And how'd you come by to own 'Rivener'? Did you make him or was he just assigned to you?"

Sam leaned over closer to Aphismet to an uncomfortable degree. His words had fake innocence and complete curiosity in them, but just a hint of malice was hidden in his speech, and he couldn't keep his spines from bristling a bit. The very thought of Aphismet being a scientist was making Sam hostile towards him. He was attempting to hold back several less innocent words for the sake of his 'investigation.

"Alot of interesting things? I could imagine.. Actually, I suppose I would have to imagine as this is actually my first time visiting." Myst said with a sheepish smile. Glancing at Ray's new numbers she chuckled, "Does seem like it'll take a while." She turned as she noticed the boy who had joined them in rolling dice, "Not having much luck?" she asked sympatheticly before picking up the dice herself and rolling again.

"39... Another losing number." Another sigh. Of well, at least it was fun talking and rolling the dice.

Josh almost could have purred because of the alleviating warmth radiating off of the bonfire. It definitely soothed his frigid joints. Sadly, though he had to get moving again; he still wanted to explore the rest of the festivities. Josh had determined that the flickering fire would be his sanctuary and he most likely would frequent the area around it. He went off and managed to pass the 'Lucky Bowl' on his way around. He sighed a gave it another shot. He always enjoyed a good gamble... of course it wasn't a winner though. Josh never said he was a good gambler.
~~~~
He twisted around and gazed upon the large banners that used to say ‘Kissing Booth’ before they had been defiled. ‘This looks like the festival’s main event!,’ he pondered. Josh scurried over to the area as his dark copper eyes flicked around examining the booths. He found one in particular that caught his attention. There were two of the raevan entities and two humans, one appearing crippled, nothing else unusual was to be seen. He arrived at the booth and greeted the table’s occupants jovially, “Hello there.” He had made it just in time to see the mint colored raevan go into a fit of spasms as he mumbled something about loosing his soul. “Umm…”
"This is frustrating," Isi said, changing his position against the table so that he could throw the dice with more ease. His last throw was just one away again! They were certainly teasing him. Isi was sure of it now. He had come so close so many times already! Trying again, the boy picked up the dice and threw them again, almost carelessly.
The cook raised one of his eyebrow up after heard Mystaira's comment, "Imagine as it's first time? So have you ever visited here?" He continued, "Well, mine was not so long working here, I think... only a week passed. I still know only Dr.Kyou and Dr.Tsu. Never met their receptionist yet, I heard her name is Chloe, do you know her?" He asked softly.
Suddenly Ray's ears overheard a mutter from the crippled boy and let a slightly laugh, "Hey, I DO agree with you. Nice to meet you, I'm Ray Kit. You are...?" He was not sure it would be polite to call the boy just 'boy' or 'kid', so the best way he could do was asking his name first. Rolling and not win was totally fine, as long as everyone was happy here.
"22... Why I missed out only one point again...." Ray complained with funny expression.
Myst blinked but then shook her head, "No, actually.. This is my first time to visit here." she said and shrugged, "I'd been thinking about visiting before, but I never got around to it. Suppose I choose a good day to come though." she commented with a slight laugh. At his other question she thought for a moment, "No.. I don't think I've met her yet, or the others for that matter. I believe the only ones I've really met from here are you and those here rolling dice." she chuckled softly. Nothing wrong with not meeting many people yet when it was her first visit.
She glanced at the new person to join them at the table, "Hello." she said before rolling the dice again.
"26... We seem to be getting everything, but the winning numbers." she said, frowning slightly.
We`rika's ears perked up and down almost in conflict with himself, whether to fight of flight. He pulled closer to this smart a**, smelling something unpleasantly familiar clinging to him. Actually everyone seemed to have this stink about them. He just couldn't escape could he?
Adjusting his scarf over his cold nose, the young man waved a clawed hand in resignation.
"Just be more careful next time..." As much as his parole officer would like, he wasn't the forgive and forget type and couldn't utter such cheek-turning words. Better than a punch in the face though, for both of them.... but going out on a limb, probably more so for the other man. We`rika closed the conversation when he turned around, his high-strung attention pulling him elsewhere, mainly to a drink. This painful evening better come equipped with some ********' boooze!
