Maybe it's just me, but I couldn't find anything at first. Not the sorting hat, not the WELCOME announcement. Nothing at all. Maybe on the first page, there could be some directions of some sort. I was relatively knew to Gaia too so it would help nice if there was something there to help some newbies who aren't too great with the posting/chatting/forum thing.

READ ME FIRST! " clue you in? Or the sticky which says "The Sorting Hat"? Both of those will always be among the first 10 threads. I have modified our home page, which now says: Be sure to read our Welcome -See Me First Thread, and to check it each time you visit the Guild. You will find the link to our Sorting Hat there, and it's the first place we post our news! It's not our Guild's purpose to orient people to Gaia, there are threads in the forums that will do that.

I have noticed that in the main forum, there are quite a few games. There are so many, that I think they deserve their own subforum.
Perhaps, if not a new subforum, then moving them to the "Role Plays" subforum, and renaming it "Role Plays and Games"

I find it kind of funny that our guild has prefects but no Head Boy and/or Head Girl. Perhaps it could be an idea the staff can look into before the next term?

Mmh.. I was wondering whether we could have more fanfiction contests, but this time based on genre's? Such as the best humor fanfic, the best tragedy fanfic, the best romance, the best horror and so on? smile

Concerning The Game of Quidditch:
It has come to my attention that Quidditch was attempted in the past, but fell through unsuccessfully.
I would like to propose it's reintroduction!
I have TONS of ideas that MAY just make it work, but I'd like to hear your opinion first! In other words, I want to know if you even want Quidditch around here before I start spilling my brains about it! ^^
Get back to me! If you are interested in starting up Quidditch again, I'd be more than delighted to help out!

Well, I'm quite open to it, and I can imagine several ways it could work. I just don't know how interested people are, if we have enough to form 4 teams within Haven, or perhaps ONE team that takes on other Guild's team. How about sharing and asking for ideas in the main forum, with a poll to see what people want. Does it stay in the main forum or should it be in the RP forum?
Do they want it? Will they play? Do you want to rehearse a team, say in the RP forum for a few weeks and then launch a game? Go for it!
I'd love to see your ideas - how it would work, would one thread do?
How the positions are picked, how the action works, etc.
I recommend copy and pasted this post with your proposal in the main thread - feel free to add to it.

Well, the thing is, people really enjoy the games. In fact, that's about what most members participate in. To move them into their own subforum would make it more time consuming to get to. Im not to sure how slow dial up is, but I know it must be a pain. And games are not important enough to make it as a sticky. As long as members are playing, they will stay up at the top of the forum.
