A draft of cold wind blew in as D opened the shop door and slipped inside. She looked about at all the people inside with a surprised smile.
"Oh, hello? Guess I'm running rather late, sorry."
She gave a wave to those she knew.... and then a wave to those she didn't. "Ah, new owners? Or just visitors?" She asked.

Sidney stuck his head out of the bag D was carrying and peers around the room. He spied a number of velvet owners but not so many velvets. Trea was on the desk but that was all he could see. Strange, their owners were here.... and he could taste a faint hint of the sugarglider, skunk and that more unfamiliar scent of LP's tiger.... where were they?

(( Sorry I wasn't able to pop in before. I still won't be able to post very often so PLEASE play around me. Don't wait for me to post because it could be ages.... sad ))

Well, if there was a velvet under the couch, Adrian couldn't see them, so he stood up. He noticed belatedly that Yume was back, along with another new person. "'Ello," he waved. "Not a new owner, just a visitor, playing hide and seek with the velvets." He looked up at the ceiling again, wondering if the sugar glider had somehow made her way up there. He looked down again, wandering around towards the back of the store, looking around things.

*Willow's nose began to itch. Not a good thing when one is hideing. She wiggled it, right before a soft sneeze. uh-oh... she could have possiblye blown her cover from the other side of the room where she was between a different colour tiger plush and an ant eater. She sat stock still*

*LP waved to D* Hey d how's life?

Arden could hear the crayons moving inside of the box, but no matter how he turned it, it didn't seem to open. There must be something you have to rip... But he didn't want to ruin the box, so he continued turning it, and examined it carefully. There was a little flap though, on the front near the top, which didn't seem to fit...

Arden picked at the flap on the front until he had managed to get a good grip, then pulled on it. The cardboard tore along careful perforations, with a satisfying popping sound.

---

Shard stepped outside, into the snow. The ground was still wet from the earlier rain, and the snow was damp underneath the new layer of powdered flakes. Shard searched a little while, wandering in the deep blue darkness, until he found the patch of ground he was looking for. Sweeping the snow and slush aside, he pressed his palm to the earth, drying out the soil.

Using the iron tool he had tucked into his pocket, he drew a tiny circle in packed earth, then began to inscribe lines and runes, marking out the specifics of the spell.

---

Arden had opened the box, and, after long deliberation decided on a color of crayon to use. He had picked a bright orange as his first color, although he still had almost no idea how to draw. Smiling to himself, he wandered around the apartment until he found what he was looking for.

Paper... Bright white paper, unwrinkled, and perfect for a drawing.

---

The snow falling around him, Shard reached into his shirt and pulled out the key, which hung, as always, as a pendant. Clasping it in his hand, he concentrated, and he touched his other palm to the circle.

"Arden," he thought. The etchings began to glow.

---

Arden had laid out the sheet of paper, and found the perfect writing surface. It was only the smoothest part of the wooden floor, but it would be enough. His crayon in hand, he hesitated, deciding what he was going to draw... the excitement of touching crayon to paper filling him up.

Firmly, he lowered the crayon, and began.

"Arden," rang through his mind. Shard? The world seemed to blur, until it was completely indistinct, then came into focus again. When it came into focus, it was cold, and Shard was standing over him.

---

Shard looked down at Arden, expecting him to be happy to see him, and yet, for some reason he seemed to be frustrated. Shard could not tell why, until he looked down.

Arden was clutching a bright orange crayon, tightly in one hand. Which seemed to have just barely begun to be used. "Oh..."

Arden sighed, then looked up at him, irritated. "KuPO!" And he threw the crayon, which caught Shard's mask along the cheek. "Kupo kupo!" Somehow, that means, tell me first? Strange...

"I'm sorry, Arden... I didn't mean to interrupt so abruptly, but I thought you'd probably enjoy the chance to meet most of the other velvets. They're having a party, right inside," he explained. "It's warmer there, too."

Arden brightened at the thought of the other velvets, then looked at Shard guiltily. "Kupo..." Sorry?

"It's alright. Come on, let's go inside." And with that, he reached down, picked Arden up, and settled him on his shoulder.

---

Strange, this white stuff. I think I like it. Arden thought, as Shard carried him inside.

( Sorry 'bout the long absence... work's been getting in the way, lately. And Gaia's been misbehaving, but that's a given. )

((well if there are any velvet owners who did not get to post at all i would like the tickets given to them, oldest owner first, only because the newer owners have more of a chance to develope their plushes/animals. if everyone got to post then give it to someone who didnt have enough to purchase one))

((Firstly, sorry for the delay, been busy e_e Yay for approaching weekends and extended parties! Now:

@Yume: xPPPP No they're nooooot >.>; Why would Moo and Kanth flirt!? Ewwww....

@Iris: I know n_n I just meant I wouldn't be able to draw anything that I personally consider worthy of entering. I am a terrible, terrible artist xD wink )

Batting Kanth's hand away, Moo laughed, relaxing in her seat. "Tease away, dear Kanth. If you can find something to tease about. Personally, I haven't the faintest idea what you could come up with... All the more reason for you to tease. Gives me something to fix." She grinned.

As Adrian began to count, Acia darted off in the opposite direction from Erae, summoning a breeze after only a few steps. Riding the wind, she 'flew' up to one of the higher shelves, diving between two plushes--a beaver and a buffalo--to hide, carefully pulling them back over to shelter her. Briefly she wondered if this was cheating...but then she decided that it wasn't. Adrian was human, and tall enough to reach this shelf without much effort, so it was perfectly fine for her to hide here.

Hearing the door open, she peeked around the buffalo to see who had arrived, stiffling a shout of greeting when she recognized D and Sid. She couldn't say hi yet! She had to stay hidden. Sid would understand, she thought, and snuggled back down between the plushes to wait.

(I must say I agree. I think Moo and Kanth act more like siblings. xDDD)

"Tch. You're no fair." Sticking out his tongue, Kanth crossed his arms and slouched slightly, then raised his head, nearly laughing at Adrian's predicament. "Prince Adrian, what are you doing?" He couldn't help but go into his old habit of calling his friend by formality, and a bit of an old medievilish accent crept into his voice. As soon as Kanth realized this, he covered his mouth with a hand and blushed intensely, laughing to cover it up. "Gahaa -hack!" He coughed, doubling over, and really began to laugh. It was... kind of pathetic, really.

Erae found his own place to hide, along with the dust bunnies underneath of the shelf where all the plushies were on. He didn't exactly hide with the plushies, but in the shadows under the shelf. And that wasn't really cheating either, but Erae couldn't help but smirk.

Though he suddenly felt... very... very tired...

Adrian turned and quirked an eyebrow at Kanth. He hadn't seen the man laugh like that in a long time -- he had rarely ever laughed like that back-in-the-day. "More's the question, what are you doing, you looney?" Adrian smirked, replying in the same odd accent. He went back to his search, deducing that the velvets weren't anywhere behind the counter. He leaned against it, scanning the room for possible hiding places. Think small... no, not like that, you pervert, he thought to himself.

((Hmm... everyone Anastasia talks to gets distracted and wanders off...
And I confess, I thought this was over... but if not...))

Anastasia carefully edged along the countertop, taking care to stay blended with the colors she snuck across. Nayati had gotten distracted, it looked like, and the others were busy with their own games, but this stranger seemed to be looking for something. He'd searched the shelves under the counter, and was now leaning with his back against it.

Thanks to the added height of the counter, Anastasia's head came just up to the strange man's shoulder. Instinctively moving in the stalk-walk that had taken her human guardian months to perfect, Anastasia's tiny boots carried her soundlessly just to the small of the man's back.

"Hey!" she called to him, "Looking for something?"

((Sorry, it was imposible to resist... She's been standing on the counter ever since she climbed up it to talk to Nayati. But when she's nervous or distracted, she tends to blend wink ))

"HOLY FREAKIN' A'!!!" Adrian jumped about a foot into the air, whipping around to stare at the counter. He blinked a couple of times, waiting for his heart to stop pounding. He could just make out the outline of a creature sitting there, so he reached out and gently poked at it.

((eeheheee. xd ))

*LP looked around untill she saw adrian was the one that squeled. Shaking her head she sighed.* Pitiful....

*Willow was getting bored of this game, she didn't thikn he was trying... so she laid down from her sitting postion and let her eyes wonder while he was busy paying atttion to whatever it was. A brow lofted when something caught her eye. It was a whisp of smoke again but only a little more defined as some sorta animal or something. She stared at it.*

Quietly, Shard stepped through the door, seeing Adrian looking rather spooked, and standing toward the middle of the room. The subject of his accusing glare was probably Anastasia... Nearly invisible. He knew her by name only. That might change.

The other velvets, however, were not as apparent.

"Adrian, what happened to the velvets?" Shard asked. "This is Arden, by the way."

Arden smiled and waved somewhat sheepishly. "Kupo...!"

"Eh?" Adrian turned away from whatever was sitting on the counter to address Shard. "Oh, you're back. Me and the velvets are playing hide and go seek... and I think this one did a pretty good job of hiding," he finished, poking at "the thing" again. He blinked at the... pink velvet with Shard, before managing to smile, "'Ello, strange pink fuzzy thing. What are you supposed to be?"
