Nah, you wouldn't need to.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 17, 2007 12:28 pm

I'd have hoped not!

Is "wouldn't've (Wouldn't of)" a word? I say it a lot , thought never use it in writing.
Okay I know it's not. Just wanted to give you a glimpse into my speech.

I say that, too.

That must be a national word. We say it here too. Except it always turns out sounding like "would'nt'uve" instead of "wouldn't'ave"

Spanish speakers slur their words, too. It's most evident when they speak quickly.

Mine sounds like "would'nt'uve. confused
I think I speak somewhat "Texan" since I mostly grew up, and learned how to speak in Ohio.

To all: I cannot understand native Spanish speakers.
Maybe I should start listening to Latin music?
Since listening to Japanese music has helped me with Japanese pronounciation ( I think).

Listening to Japanese music has helped isolate me from everyone else.

You can understand Spanish speakers once you hang around them long enough.

-Pats Xumbra-

I don't really hang around Spanish speakers. The only Spanish I hear is from my teacher, who speaks slowly for comprehension, and from my gringo(a) friends.

My friend speaks to me in Spanish sometimes. You'll get used to it.

My aunts from the Dominican Republic, so I'm used to hearing really fast spainish talk.
xDDD
Realy hard to understand them though.
They're good for helping with homework though.

Actually, I can understand speakers fairly well, but I can not speak without taking a long time to think about what I want to say.

My dad doesn't. I don't think my mom does. But she may have learned a bit of Spanish while I was gone. I'll see in a couple of months.

Dad sometimes speaks German, and I reply in Spanish, just to piss him off. surprised (I don't understand German. sweatdrop )

Xum, just wondering, do your parents speak English well?
PostPosted: Sun Mar 25, 2007 10:20 am

They speak well enough not to have an Asian accent.

But their grammar is horrible, especially my mom's. They can't write without loads of mistakes. See why I'm so into grammar?

By the way, this thread is titled, "This kinda irks me. (NOT ANOTHER I-POD TOPIC! D smile ". I found that odd, since this is the only iPod topic in this guild.

Yeah, but there are loads of repeat topics about I-pods all over the Net, so that's what I meant by the "Not...Topic! D:"

My Vietnamese friend has an Asian accent. But she speaks English really well, for someone who has only been living here for a year. It's sad though, that she has to move away next year.
