Sunstrike chuckled ruefully. "If not me, who else? We're all we have here, Vahn. Unless you count Nahara and Hibon...." And they don't even know what I am...hell, did VAHN even know? He gave a side-look to his partner, masked by the goggles he wore.
The red headed man had seen/forced Sun change, once, but that had been under very different circumstances, and Sunstrike didn't think that the form from then, would recieve any warm welcomes from a race of sentinent creatures. Or even be able to comprehend such matters that involved more then just frying things. Admitedly though, this last time...with Vahn's magic, there'd been a change...darker and more intelligent. Maybe more then just the physical aspects were merging then.
He just managed to catch the comment from his friend before falling deeper into his mind to have a look at that theory. The grin flashed again.
"Never doubted it, Vahn. But I recognize the need to get this finished as well...plus I feel more then a little indebted to those kids and their grandfather..."

"True enough... I just still can't help but keep feeling unsettled. I know we're walking into a mess, but for the life of me, there's nothing I can do to prevent it." Moving through the crowds, as the day got into full swing now, the bazaar was hectic and loud as usual, merchants doing their best to ply their goods, and random passerby after random passerby moving along, the occasional adventurer or guard seen as well.
A soft, warm breeze, scented with the smells of date palms and exotic spices, made it's way down the lane, wafting through the desert bazaar and ruffling clothing gently. Yellowed eyes, which were not very common, except among murmillions, stood out, along with Sunstrike, so really both Vahn and Sun got the occasional curious glances, but nothing that was filled with hate or fear. The people of Gaia had dealing with all manners of creatures, races and species-- and it would be idiotic to think they were not used to strange things. They were very intolerable... except when it came to matters of the Lizards of course.
But for all intents and purposes, Sunstrike's "secret" would remain just that, a secret. But of course Vahn knew, just as well as Dain had known.

Sunstrike suddenly remembered an earlier conversation with Dain and laughed outright. An acolyte, taken out of time and moved like a chess piece...
"Like someone's leading you through a maze, traps or no traps, and you don't have the will to go to all the little sidealleys and hide....sounds like you have a higher being problem, Vahn. Someone must really like you <3" His voice was singsongy and teasing, but he had to wonder who his companion was attached to...
Then he shook it off. It was pointless to expect to understand something where there was a totally unknown element. He'd never met any of the true gods here, and was hoping to stay out of the limelight when it came to that. He knew Henry'd struck a deal with some godess, and that there was more then one being out there...which probably meant that another had been left in the dark...
His teeth clicked. Rambling again, he needed to stop that...

"Chih..." Both his arms went up, hands clasped behind his head, as he walked along the street, the two of them easily weaving through the crowd; no need to push or shove people violently out of the way, unlike a certain brute. "My life is mine to lead.. I do whatever the hell I want when I want. But I'm just so lazy that I never do anything-- ah what a problem." A sarcastic sigh left his lips, before he turned his head to look at Sunstrike, bursting into laughter.
It probaly needs elaborating on this one fact-- Vahn may have seen what Sun really was like, but he never made it a point to pry into his life with questions, let alone go out of his way to find out whatever there was to be found out. Vahn was a pretty straightforward person, and as long as he could get along with someone, that was good enough for him.

It had been about 16 hours since he started his journey in the desert. He could feel the torture of Neo Salamandra's time on this plane. She ahd been through various and random sandstorms, causign ehr to go slowly. HE could feel her about to collapse from exhaustion. Sally, you need to go back and rest. We'll let Trian carry us the rest of the way. With that, he jumped off of the dragon's back. HE pulled out the container again, pullign out two cards, one of them was Sally's portal to this world. HE held it up towards her, as she changed to pure energy and went back into the card. He took the second card, holdign Trian, and summoned him forth. This earth-bound dragon had no wings, and the body of a tortise. HE was all red, with the exception of two alrge black liens runnign parallel don the center of his toop and bottom parts of his body. He walked up to Trian, greeting him. Hey, Trian. Look, I nee- WHOA! He suddenly slipped and fell, hittign his head. Luckily, his thick skull allowed him to stay concious. Apprently, he slipped and fell on glass. What in the- Oh, yea. Trian's body heat turns this sand automatically into glass. How the hell am I going to do this. After a logn contempaltion period, he deicded it was best for Trian to preform his Rollout attack, and he himself ski behind him. He motioned for Train to go. As the dragon curled up, he attached strong, yet thin energy threads to the red beast's body so he could follow behind. Now all he ahd to worry about was sandstorms.

As they are rollign along, he feels somethign scrape his cheek, leavign a thin lien of blood. As he lloks back to see it, it sparkled lieka diamond, but that was impossible. Then he was hit again in his right arm, which the object was still embedded in him. He saw it, and he began to fear. Glass... oh s**t... Using whatever he coudl think of at the time, which was to get in front of Trian, since he could see the heated sand pieces there. He pulled on the thread, which sent him just up and over Trian. His clothers were torn, but not bloody, from the hundreds of glass shards. To protect himself, he amde a sphere sheidl of his energy and landed right in front of Trian. Thoguh hsi sheild turning slowed Train a little, he kept on trucking as he focused most of the sheild's defenses in front of him to protect him from the flying glass.

"Hah! I knew you'd hate that explination...saying you have no fate is too much of a tease, Vahn. Don't say it in any temples, okay? I don't know if I could survive being torched by lightning..."
He sighed and gave the other man a small shove. "You're not half as lazy as me, so don't be daft, I told you before that if it wasn't for you I'd probably have done nothing...as it is I'm probably gonna get in a bucket load of trouble for all this." The smile turned into a wince, then a shrug.
"Too late to go back on my steps now though. And besides...I'm running away from a helluva lot of problems right now that need sorting when we go back. Believe it or not...this is like a vacation for me!!"

It had been another 20 hours when he woke up from his long slumber. Wehn he awoke, he noticed that the land was movign slower. That meant Trian was getting tired. HE wasn't surprised he lasted this long by rolling. He did belong to Kyoto, that was, before Kyoto gave it to him as a graduation present from hsi training. He remembers the days vividly. But he didn't care that much for him right now. He had one thing on his mind: Vahn Kyonuske. At this point, he was still rollign in front of the beast, the sheild sustaing from the complex spell circle he placed on it to keep it up after he went to sleep. Mentally, he told Trian to stop. Once done, he broke the seal, and the sheild collapsed. He sent his dragon to his card's domain and thought of what to do. As he did so, he made another glass point for him to teleport to. How am I going to get there? It has been about 36 hours... I have another 12... Sally should be ready soon, but I will need her in my battle. Looks like I'm hoffin' it. Battle Rush Lvl. 1: Wildfire Streak! Flames erupted around him, showing his armorment. He was left witha light armor on. With long bracers on hsi arms, and gaurds on legs. A small chestplate and a helm, all colroed a metallic blue. His arms and legs held blades, to literally cut the wind resistance, and attack foes. His helm had a visor, this was meant to get rid of any obstacles that might endanger his vision. He laughed a bit, bent down, and took off. HE left large sand clouds in hsi wake as he was about to hit half of Mach 1 speed.

"Quit worrying so much... like I'd ever step foot into any place with religion in it. Those people take more gold off people than thieves." Slowing down in his walks, he made his way on over towards the sides of the street, where all the merchants were set up.
Vahn had gold, surprisingly enough. And plenty of it, thanks to Dain. Of course most of it was strictly for supplies...
"Besides... what trouble could you have possibly gotten in? I haven't seen you for a good year or so." Leaning down at the wares, he examined a simple backpack, testing the fabric and such.

Sunstrike gave a sort of half laugh.
"How much trouble can you imagine? I was fine and dandy til I was daft enough to want to save your sorry arse. Then it all kinda fell through from there, I attracted some nasty attention that was originally brewing in Gambino...which is where I was when your buddy" Sarchastic. "Couldn't find me." Sunstrike shrugged nonchalantly.
"S'nothing I can't handle, or just avoid entirely....I kinda hope. I wasn't exactly dealing well with stuff at the time." The last bit kinda trailed off quietly. "And yes, then the stadium blew up, leaving the whole buisness unfinished. Of which I'm not inclined to go back to any time soon. The end."
This was all said so fast, and to be honest Sunstrike was kinda embarassed about the whole situation, he wasn't really used to not being in control of events around him, though, increasingly he was finding that events didn't recognize this and pulled him in anyway.

He kept runnign at high speeds, almsot reachign Mach 3 with his continued stride. It was about hour 10 when he realized a mistake he made. I forgot food... He kept going for as much as he could, until his Rush faield him and he back to walking, no heavier than a jog. He was breathign heavily. He could almost feel heat now, for his homeostasis was faltering. He kept goign for as long as he could. Just in the distance, he saw an image. A village. He didn't know if it was full of people or barren life, but he was detirmiend to go there anyway. With soem of remainign strength, he shot a large blue flamethrower from his right arm, which schorcehed the sand, making a large, even, glass slide in the desert. Then, usign only weak orange flames he crafter a very crude, yet slick glass slide. He coated the the bottom of it with sand. Then he drew the Chaos Entourage. With the second node shinign, he sent a large gust of wind down his glass chute, covering it with sand, removign most all friction. He placed the slide on the chute, and stepped into in luge style. He put both hsi hands facing outwards behind him, and shot out a red flamethrower from his right hand, and a black flamethrower from hsi left, giving him a large propultion. After 1 minute of doing so. He palced his ahnds in the slide and closed his eyes. The bumpy ride will soon be over.

"You'd think it would kill us to just have normal lives..." He said, mostly to himself, but not entirely keeping Sun from hearing him. He was digging into the pouch that was tied at his belt, which kept the reserve amount of gold coins given to him by Dain.
"Here.. grab a few of these packs. We're going to have get the things we need for our trip together." It had been a while since Vahn had had to actually shop for adventuring gear...

Sunstrike snorted, his ears picking up the low comment, and he reached forward, taking the packages and placing them into the growing satchal around his shoulder. Normal lives, he'd die of bordum, and love every minuete of it.
Then he realized how much of the stuff they were taking.
"You sure we're gonna need ALL of this?"

Caladbolg soon reached the end of his rainbow-reflecting pathway. Sadly for him, when he amde it, his flamethrower didn't reach the town's gates. It was off by about 10 feet, and it ended on an inverted angle. He never even noticed this until he hit the ramp, sendign him flying. He opened his eyes, seeign a different view than when he last looked. The sky was clearer and the smell of dirt and sand was clear from his sinuses. Then he felt a tug from below. HE looked down, tipping the slide and saw he was about to crash. From lack of food, he couldn't take care the mess easily. All he could do was just double-kick the slide away from him, givign him enough air to make it on top of a vender's cloth ceiling. When he landed, the weak fabric rripped underneath and he fell to the ground. It was then he saw that lots of people were around him and that his large glass slide was about to fall. The impact could break the slide, and send shards flyign at people. The worst part, eh couldn't get up.

"How should I know? The most shopping I've done is wait on line for a burger or something..." Scratching the side of his right cheek idly, he straightened himself up again and looked over to Sun.
"I need to find the armorer or something... I feel naked."
It was partially true... compltely gone was the normal, black coat he wore, along with the protective vest. Not too mention the fact that his sword was still missing, and hopefully hadn't decided to get up and walk away in his absence.
A faint commotion was heard, causing him to glance in it's general direction.
