apparently Die overheard some girls talking and heard one of them say he was getting fat. he stopped eating for ages and ended up really anorexic to the point where he was in hospital being fed through a drip sad

Die's eating disorder has never been confirmed. It's still only considered rumor although I never heard it to that extent (being fed intraveinously). That being said, I do tend to believe that he did have problems for a while with his weight, and thinking he was too big.

And Kyo isn't a huge cleptomaniac. He admitted he liked to steal things when he was little but he never said it was a huge compulsion.

I guess people just don't know how serious the consequences of one little remark can be.
