Morning, well, midnight, dawned dark and late. Aida yawned and wiggled out of the bed. She felt hungry. Maybe Mommy was up, and would fix her some eggs and porridge. She padded across the room, light as a kitten, but stopped in the middle of the small round rug before the fire. This wasn't her room. This was someone else's room. And that meant Mommy wasn't fixing breakfast, and Daddy wasn't chopping wood, and Katie wouldn't play with her...

She padded back over to the bed and sniffed the covers. This was a much finer bed than she'd ever slept in a child, crammed in for warmth with her two sisters. Stupid Katie, always hogging the thin covers!

From the bed she could see out the window. She was on the second story, then, and still in the woods. Good. She liked the woods. The fire had burned low in the hearth, but she didn't really care. Vampires were supposed to feel cold, weren't they?

Oh, right. Aida crumpled like a marionette whose strings had been cut. The past two decades of homeless wandering returned to her as if on a tidal wave, breaking all at once into her mind.

Abel flipped over irritably. The wolven ears of his anthro form picking up the sound of Aida's soft footsteps reaching him loud and clear. He yawned once, his eyes still closed tight, defianately resisting waking up, still half asleep as he was. He grumbled slightly, thinking about the earlier happenings of the day, and knowing deep within himself that Aida or Kaori would come to wake him soon.

Though, he decided that when that time came, it would, he'd get as much more as he could. He had slept very well, the bed had been comfortable. And thus, the male was still quite reluctant to get up. He hadn't had such good sleep in too long. The beds in inns, or wherever he had found to stay, were thin, and he could never sleep well in them.

Abel's thin pale chest was still bare, and he lay sprawled, his long limbs stretched, taking up most of the bed. One arm dangled over one side of the mattress. His other propped up the pillow his head was on.

One offwhite ear twitched. That thump. It had been quite a lot more than the light footfalls of the young girl. He raised his head, slightly worried. But he wasnt sure how serious it was, she hadnt called out, or anything there had been no noise except for the steps he had heard before. Lazily he laid his head back down, but Abel couldn't help but keep one eye open. In case something else happened, he wanted to be sure he was awake.

"Mmhmm" Kolette murmured, as he bowed, waving off such formality with such a close aide to her and her fathers work. Kolette knew a lot more than she let on to. She knew, by little more than two main things. The man, Darrius's weapon. And the way the two had conversed. She had also caught the admonitory statement, but pretended she had not. Knowing if he wasn't going to bring it up, their current order of business was more important.

"It sounds the inn would make it much easier to find an area private enough. As Im sure the estate is still crawling with other hunters and such. It was a big find. It will make the next, hopefully as long as a years time, much easier." Kolettes amber eyes scanned the crowd. As if preoccupied, though she was not. But as she mentioned Thaleon and how much Warren had helped, she turned to look at him.
"And my father and I owe you more thanks than can be voiced. There may be some kind of reward in store for such. And for ggoing out of you way for me."
PostPosted: Fri Mar 23, 2007 10:44 pm

With a solemn face, Warren bowed at Kolette's thanks. "My lady, as always, there is no need to thank me. The only reward I desire is to be able to serve you, your father, and god till my last breath." While it was true that Warren was completely content serving the church day in and day out, being born in poverty had caused him to never really desire anything beyond what he needed to survive.

Standing straight again, Warren looked towards the road heading towards the inn. "It is as you say, for a moment I forgot the importance of the damned ones house." Observations of Thalen's estate had revealed that not only was he a vampire, but he was also providing shelter for other unholy creatures, and smuggling them out of town. Turning to face Kolette, Warren continued, "Very well my lady, I shall lead you to the inn, please keep close for it is in a somewhat lawless part of town." This being said, Warren began to walk in the direction of the inn, occasionally looking back to see if Kolette was following.

((Sorry if I'm godmodding a bit, I didn't want to put you in a position with a very little to work on. If you want me to change it, it's alright with me.))

[For German dialect, I'll use my brackets. Most of the words will be spelled as they sound, such as 'wir' sounds like 'vir'. Just to give you all an idea of what Lash blathers.]

"Aaaaahhh! Don't think that I don't hear you, because I can!"
She lunges at the bars of the cell again, snarling and body slamming the thick iron rods to no avail. For the past half hour she can hear a ceremony or something going on upstairs in the cathedral's main room, a shaky voice was rambling on about...something.
"Shut up! Shut...up! When I get out of here, the first thing I'm going to do is rip your tongue out and shove it down your throat!"
A sleek curtain of dark hair cascades her left shoulder, the right side of her face fully exposed and showing a gleaming blue eye. The young lycanthrope slides to her knees to lean against the bars, whimpering. At last, that wretched voice had silenced! Lash yearned to have the strength of an adult lycanthrope, they could at least try to crush the bars, but the young she-wolf knows she is too young still. Although she does not have the rabid prowess of an adult, she could still vocalize like her breed in her human form.
"Aus, Hundchen, das vir aus brauchen." [Out, puppy, we need out.] mutters the femme.
She slowly raises her gaze, her eyes have adjusted to the dark easily after waking up an hour ago to find herself trapped in this dank place. There are no windows, only an occasional rodent and dripping water is heard. Lash has not found the door to this room yet, she surmises that it must be off in a shadowed corner. And it is so cold...

Not a single fault dealt by herself could possibly have led her here. Or anywhere near humans for that matter. The humans have become abusive lately.
How did I even get here?
Last she remembers, Lash had been playing hide and seek with her siblings. She wandered very far to hide, something began to hurt her head and...
"Und vas?" [And what?]
A rat has entered her cell and she barks at it, snarling once more. Terrified, the rat reels off into a corner. Lash sighs and stays kneeling. Her arms are numbing, she rubs them briskly as she whimpers, nudging the bars with her knee as though to open them.
"Mutter...Mutter! Bruder, Schvester!" [Mother...mother! Brother, sister!]
The young lycanthrope's calls are left unanswered, only to resonate from the walls and back to her ears. None of her pack had been caught, they would come rescue her soon...although it is very common for any of the pups to wander off for a few days, it could take some time. She soon leaves the bars alone as it is of no use. Lash instead scoots back into a corner, using her feet to propel herself as she slid on the dirty stone floor on her rump. Leaning back into the corner the she-wolf waits. Her brown eye and blue eye stare at whatever might lie past the cell bars, in a very paranoid manner.

[Not as long as it could've been, but I'm falling asleep.]

Aida pushed the memories from her mind and forced herself to stand up again. None of that mattered anymore, because she had found a new family. This was her home, now, and she didn't need to think about those things anymore.

She smiled and exited the room, looking for the kitchen.

"Good morning," she called. "Where is everyone? Should I fix you breakfast?" A quick search of the pantry revealed a quantity of oatmeal, which she mixed with water and began boiling over the fire. It certainly wasn't what she would prefer for breakfast, but she had no right to complain about her host's food, especially after they had been so kind as to take her in. And, of course, she couldn't possibly expect them to eat the exact same things as she did. Although she thought a bit of blood sausage about the place couldn't hurt matters.

Kaori drug herself up from her sleep, hearing people move around. Sitting up, she closed her eyes tight and held her head. She didn't remember coming to bed, just lighting the fire in Abels room then standing up.... The young witch groaned to herself. "I must have used too much energy yesterday.... I hope I don't have to use much tonight...."

Rolling out of her bed, Kaori quickly changed into clean clothes and headed into the kitchen. She paused in the doorway moment, watching Aida make breakfast. After a minute, she walked over to the ice box and took out a package of sausage. "Aida, right? Would you rather have some sausage? Oatmeal's not the tastiest thing to eat."

((sorry I took so long guys >.< Been really busy. Spring break now though so I should be on more.))

Abel grinned slightly to himself in relief. Glad that Aida was ok, but mentally kicking himself for not going sooner. The smell of the oatmeal drifting into his room caused him to sit up. He raised his head a bit. 'Oatmeal?' the thought rushed uncerimoniously into his head. 'Blech' Abel made a face. Being the anthro of a wolf did cause his appetite to be more geared towards meat. And currently his thoughts were on the same track as Aida's. What about backon, or sausage. Like normal people.

Well then again he was half demon, he shook his head swingin his legs over the side of the bed. Maybe thats how normal people are. . . Abel chuckled slightly at his childish thoughts of maybe as he made his way down the hall. His bare feet making small 'pad' noises on the floor as he made his way towards the kitchen and leaned against the doorframe, just watching.

It is still very drafty and frightening in the cell, the rats continue to squeak and bicker amongst themselves, a steady dripping sound echoes throughout the dark room. Her nose tells her it is old water and thankfully not blood which would've only spooked the lycanthrope further. A dull throbbing in the middle of her head disturbs her brooding. Lash growls softly, pulling her western mane out of her hair and brushes a spider free from her eastern crop. How much longer until she'd find out how and why she is trapped in here? Her backside soon became numb and uncomfortable against the wall, a film of grim sticking to her green tank top as she pulls away to stand. Panic starts to settle in as she realizes how small her imprisonment area is. No room to even jog around the corners, an old bench/bed object is slid against the wall but nothing else. While her cell has many thick bars, there is a door at the side of her walled cage that has a wide wooden door. The door has a few cracks in the wood, but none so that will allow her to see past it. A few insects crawl through the cracks and disappear into another, mildew is growing along the doorframe. At the top of the door is a sunken in area, perhaps a space for her captors to look it at her at will. Or even to throw a blade at her, if any did posses the skill here.
It's a church. The worst they'll do to me is put me to sleep with a sermon. Soon I will be making them pray though, once I am out...those priests are in trouble. I can't kill though, that'd only make them believe even more that non-humans are the cause of their petty problems.
And she was certainly not going to bite or claw anyone.

Lash begins to pace where she could within her cell, snarling softly. Soon she begins to think of her siblings. Her little sister Joy, her brothers Asche and Zeit...were they still playing and looking for her? It is too hopeful they'd think her gone after only one night, or even her parents for that matter. Her pack is very laid back and does not jump to conclusions easily. Lash's snarls churn into fearful whimpers and whines. Soon enough, she has begun to howl as she stands, leaning on the bars on her back and baying at the dark ceiling above. The rats suddenly stop squeaking and scatter off to one corner of the room to vanish through a hole in the wall. Their actions make the she-wolf stop her lamenting as light footsteps are heard descending steps.
So I'm in a basement of a church...that just so happens to have a jail of sorts.
An elderly man wearing a cross pendant that appears to have him hunch over opens the door to the stairs, a torch in hand and a black book under his arm. Lash falls silent before darting to the back of her cell and gazing at the robed figure with malice. When he walks towards her confinement, she snarls beastily. He does not falter and continues to near her, not even flinching when the young lycanthrope barks at him. With the patience only an elder could posses, he glances at her then opens his book. The man begins to read boring things to her, something about angels and a...oh, whatever. She is insulted to be trapped in here and further insulted that an old man has come down to read irrelevant epics to her. Lash barks again and dashes to the front of her cell, reaching through the bars she tears the book from his hands and yanks it behind the bars to herself. The pup backs away from the bars, shutting the book. She clasps it with both hands and raises it to her mouth, opening her lips to show her blackened fangs. As the man watches in horror, Lash bites into one corner of his bible and begins to mercilessly shred it with her fangs. Once the book has been rendered to bits, she spits the wet muck down at his feet and growls at him.
"Ich habe keine Angst, verlassen Sie mich bin!" [I have no fear, you leave me be!]
