Have you read what the drummers have to read? It's not the same. Half of my wind friends can't read the music.

why are trumpeters so cocky? the entire band is cocky! ill admit im a drummer and YES im cocky.. its because we are the only people in the whole band that actually rehearse outside of school. we had 3 rehearsals for 2 hrs a day a week. the band didnt evn have an outside of school rehearsal. this led to a number of best drumline awards for us. The band got so pissed at us because we were so good but they didn't work for their titles.

BlRahshj why are drummers so cocky??? its not like they have a hard instrument all they have to do is keep tempo i do that playing the a. sax and the baritone... i've picked up the drums n there not hard... set is but im talking about marching drums... Drumming can be quite hard actually especially if its the full kit ur playing. Not only do you have to keep the tempo but u have to be coordinated as ur dealing with not just one but usually three different patterns at a time, if not more. Also not all drummers are cocky, i play drums and im the least bit of a show off ever!

at our school were kinda cocky but we joke with it we're a pretty strong line of only 7 but we always keep the band together if it wasnt for us the pit would kill the tempo and the gaurd would be running wid plus the with our section leader being the main drum major we kinda deserve to be a little cocky

Hanaka-Baka our drummers have a tendency to talk when they aren't needed...so when our director is talking you can usually hear them in the background...i stoped caring along time ago...to hot to stay mad forever Lol actually we do that a lot, but he doesn't get mad at us most of the time xD

I only know one guy in my school's drumline who's cocky, and he was moved from trumpets at the beginning of the year. The rest of the battery's completely awesome. Us and half the pit hang out together all the time and the entire band loves them.

Are we seriously letting this guy's comment still bother us after a year or so? Screw this guy, let's do what we gotta do.
But to let off some steam... Our percussion is pretty awesome. When our band got last place in a competition, our percussion got a 2nd place caption for "best percussion ensemble." And if we can do that, imagine what we'll do for winter drumline (Micheal Jackson.)
note: Our section is not cocky, we just screw around too much.
