Black Metal Ist Krieg I_N_F_L_A_M_E_S Luciferian Soul I_N_F_L_A_M_E_S All hail the kings of black metal... i've heard alot of negative comments on the overdone orchestra in Progenies of the Great apocalypse, but honestly, i think thats one of my favorite things about Dimmu Borgir. i dont know any other black metal bands that do that. if there are more, then im a moron, and i don't listen to enought black metal.
I don't think of them as black metal anymore, DCA sucked. dude i know it was Death Cult Armaggeddon. i own the freaking CD. i wasnt talking about the entire album, just the song in particular. and im sorry if i offended you, im just saying i enjoy it. i havent heard thier old stuff YET, but maybe it really is better than the new. and for the record, Naglfar owns.
Heeyy calm man, it's cool. I just wasn't sure - because you were referring to the orchestra in Progenies... I wasn't sure if you were just talking about the song, or referring to the album as that.
I think the olderish stuff is better, but the very early stuff is bad. xp It's hard to describe, I'll just leave you to check it out yourself.
And yes, Naglfar ******** rock. whee i bought like 4 or 5 CD's from them, and i think pretty much jsut their 3 most recent releases are all that attract me. however, after seeing the video for "Sorgens Kammer II" off of the re-released Stormblast CD... i think i need to just do some more research ( thank you, Princess_Yenni!!!)

I love Dimmu Borgir... I have two of thier cd's... i think its soo cool that they had a full symphony orchestra to play with them in thier cd Death Cult Armageddon... Im so totally obsessed with them u should see my profile >_<

I don't know why everyone is bashing DCA. Dimmu Borgir is my favorite band, and DCA is my favorite of their albums so far(mind you I haven't heard their early stuff). Progenies of the Great Apocalypse is my favorite song!

DCA is most defenitly there best album. best recived by critics, best recived by fans.
Dont bash it saying there old stuff was better. if you ask me, there old stuff was alot more sloppy.
but, thats just my opinion

Anyways, why does everyone like Dimmu Borgir? I agree with you on the king of black metal thing, although dimmu borgir is definitely one of my favorite bands. They do a lot of different things with their sounds and I love the song Progenies of the Great Apocalypse. Maybe it's because I'm partial to symphonic metal and all related genres but I think that they are great.

Harvested Sorrow npth I am not a big fan of the older stuff, but from Spiritual Black Dimensions till present day, its awesome. They are what Black Metal should be. Well produced and pompous. And they look better than any other Black Metal band, image is important in this genre. They are what black metal should be: ******** NO. Well produced and pompous: You mean over-produced. Image is important in this genre: Once again, no. They are NOT black metal, except for the first two albums. Completely agreed. They are utter sellouts now, all they care about is making money to fund how many more spikes they can add on their clothing, and how much more eyeliner and black lipstick they can buy.
