Dama padded one foot, then three, then all four feet over the unmarked border. And strangely enough, she almost felt relieved as she picked her way into the Pridelands. In the back of her mind, a silent voice whispered to her subconscience, although she was more than oblivious to it's message; you're safe now little one....naught will hurt you now.... A patch of sky shone through the clouds, and a star twinkled above, visible through that patch....

Trudging alongside her companion, she slowly began wobbling and weaving from side to side. Water...that's what she needed most of all. The precious lifegiving, life renewing clear liquid that sustained all life within any of the lands. Trying to steady herself, she leant her head on Kitwana's shoulder as they walked, silently hoping he wouldn't argue, for she needed his steadiness to keep her going.

Kiyowe looked up mid-yawn to see Mufasa looking back at her. She finished stretching, still looking curiously at the large lion. Hesitating slightly, she padded up to him, and stopped a short distance away.

Eyeing the young lioness at the added weight on his frame, Kitwana merely cocked and eyebrow and picked up the pace. Dama was weakening, little fool. This was no time to lose strength, not when new scents were abound and they may need to run. Still, the adolescent allowed her to rest a little against him, though refusing to pry his gaze from their fixed point ahead again.

The land was definitely different now. Not so harsh, not burning. Under the cover of cloud, the scenery was blackened, but the ground could never lie to him. His paws were moving over softer terrain than he was used to, the memory of burning sand almost inground into his nerves.

((Being at the edge I'm going to guess that he cannot see them yet in the distance, if you want me to though, just OOC prod me. ^ ^ ))

-Mufasa smiled a little lightly down to the young cub watching the slightly timid motions before laughing a little under his breath. His tail flipped very unintimidatingly back and forth, always happy to spend time with some of the younger members of the pride. Motioning towards his wet coat he teased goodheartedly.- "Hello young one. Out for a little shower?"

Kiyowe giggled slightly, and shook her head a little. She moved forward, a bit closer to him. She looked up at him, a small grin on her face, but kept silent. Not knowing what to say.

-Lifting his massive paw lightly up, he held it carefully a few inches above the cubs head, stopping atleast a little of the falling rain from dripping down onto her.- "Just not up for sleeping with the others then? I can understand that, I've been growing restless myself these days on occasion. Perhaps it's all this rain."

-He smiled gently and nodded to her, before looking lightly out upon the expanse of land that lay in view from the Priderocks.-

She smiled her thanks. There was a slight pause as she tried to say something. "... It's really been raining alot... I wonder why..." She trailed off as she followed his gaze out towards the land.

"I'm not quite certain really myself... It could be something as simple as simply the season and what the land needs to keep everything in balance. Or.. perhaps it's a sign of something to come? Not that that's bad." -The words were said simply, without much worry behind him, though he did worry a little inside. But that was not for a cub to hear. Turning a smile to her once again he added curiously.- "Are the other cubs all sleeping or off playing already? I'm sure they'd be much more interesting to you then a big old lion like me."

((Okay, trying out arpee'un! Don't hurt me if it's really, really bad, 'cause it's my first time playing this type of character, X3;;;

Tell me if I get anything wrong! O-o))

Sarafina lay her head down over her paws as she gazed around the den. It was a perfect day for sleeping. The rythmic beat of the rain had kept her snoozing quite longer than she had intended, and even now she found it hard to rouse herself out of slumber.

She yawned deeply, her mouth opening so wide that every one of her sharp, shining teeth were visible. A drawn out moan escaped her throat as she closed her eyes for one last second. That was it, she'd slept enough, and it was time to wake herself up.

Yup, she was going to get up.

That's right, in a moment, she would get up.

Yes, in just a few more moments she would be getting up to start the day.

Agreed. Just a few more minutes, she would finally greet the dim, gloomy day..

Well, maybe ten minutes would be better. After all, she would be completely useless all day if she hadn't had the proper rest. It was decided. She would nap for ten (ten? no! fifteen!) more minutes, and then get up.

And so, after twenty (more like thirty) minutes of quality catnapping, she opened her eyes again. She slowly stood, stretching her legs before padding towards the entrance of the den. "Where's Nala?" She murmured, mother-mode promptly kicking in.

((EEp! Gotta go, >___< *waddles to bed*))

((Sorry I disappeared! My internet randomly died last night. gonk ))

Kiyowe nodded at his comment. Despite his worries, she wasn't that concerned. Whatever happens, the adults always had a way of fixing it anyway. She never got to do anything, even if she wanted to. She glanced back at the cave. "I think they're still sleeping..."

Nala turned away from the rain when she heard her mothers steps approaching the entrance of the den.

"Mama!" Nala said softly, as to not desturb anyone who may have been slumbering as well. Bounding over, she wound her way around her mothers legs, purring. "She's finally awake," Nala giggled to herself.

"I suppose a rainy day does often make people sleep alot more. But we can't all just sleep our lives away." -The sounds of a few others stirring and talking caught his attention, but he didn't pay it much mind. Smiled softly at the thought, he motioned out into the Pridelands.- "Perhaps you'd like to do something beside hang out around this sleepy rock? I doubt anyone would mind if you wanted to take alittle trip to the waterhole, or go out to play. They'd come and find us if they needed us I'm sure. Maybe the lioness' will even wake and go out for a hunt later today."

a small antelope enters the land, her ears were pricked. her coloring resembled any other antelope, brown with white spotes. her grey eyes scan the land as her head lowered to the ground. she slowly picked up grass and chomped on it, the grass was alive and was refreshing. her head shook slowly, then she looked around to see lions about. her body froze as she watched them intently, if they were to approach, she would run. although smaller then average adult antelope's her legs were quick. she watched them, her legs wobbling slightly.

Dama's paws too, detected the change in footing beneath her. Soft grey toes spread, allowing the softer sand to flow up between them, a coolness comforting the juvenile. Her tail flicked slightly, and she raised her head from looking down, at the feel of Kitwana quickening. Mustering courage and the will to live and go on, she too quickened beside him. It wouldn't be long before she would be unable to go, perhaps she'd long passed that point long ago, but it was her will and stubborn-ness to keep alongside of her companion that kept her going. Surely, in such a lush, beautiful land, there couldn't be any hostility, not like the Blood....

It seemed like forever before Dama smelled something. Prying open her eyes, which had seemed to glue shut from the dehydration her body was going through, she saw it in front of them. A small trickle of water laying in a depression in the earth. A small watering hole. It was a blessing in the most needed way. Without even thinking, Dama's hindquarters launched her small body as best as they could, her ungangly, yet somewhat lithe form shooting away from Kitwana as she bounded for the water. The lifegiving source that she needed so much. It was only a moment or two before she reached the edge, and she lowered her head so quickly to take a drink, that she nearly tumbled all the way in. "Whoa!" she gasped, catching her footing and plopping down upon her rump. This time she ducked her head a little more slowly, managing to keep her balance this time. Dama greedily lapped at the cool liquid, as it indeed was exactly as she'd hoped, and not a mirage brought on by the lack of water in her system. Drinking her weight in water didn't take long, after which the grey lioness turned her head to glance back at her companion, eagerly flicking her ears in his direction. "Kitwana! Its water! Its really water!!!" Flicking her tail, renewed engery flowing through spindly limbs, she awaited her partner's reaction, if any.

Drizzle.

Why did it never seem to do anything more than drizzle in the beginnings of the day? If it did, it might keep the rest of them quiet long enough for any sane lion to get a decent amount of sleep. If it wasn't Mufasa's squalling brat first thing in the morning, it was one of the others, running around and causing mischief.

Not that Taka minded a bit of mischief, so long as it didn't interfere with his sleep. Getting to his feet, he stretched out languidly, front paws first with their claws scraping harshly against the rock... then each back leg, extended one at a time to get the lethargy from them. Taka padded out onto the rocks then, climbing up to the cave entrance where the others were likely holed up from the rain. To his displeasure, Mufasa was already awake and seemed to be doting on one of the little fuzzballs that now ran rampant around the rocks.

He didn't bother getting closer... chances were that he'd already been seen anyway. Sitting where he was, Taka proceeded to lay down on the cool stone, grooming his claws carefully as he watched the others.
