Rayl nodded, "Allright, let's head home." Rayl and Kinera left for their house where Rayl was feeling exstatically nice and decided to make Kinera a nice Dinner before going to bed. He figured If I cook some food I can just copy Kinera's homework at lunch tomorrow. cool

Violet crawled out from his pocket and onto his shoulder,
"You were sleeping for a veeeerrryyy long time Master. But guess what?! I found Sir Lion! He was at the guild! I'm not sure why, but here he is! And he brought you here! Along with a bunch of other people that I don't really know, and another little one like me!"
She bounced her head from side to side,
"You should have seen it Master, everyone was ready to help, yep yep. But Sir Lion is hurt as well."

A sneer crossed Lonewolf's lips at the mention of his name. "Nothing that concerns you." He stated flatly. He began to walk for the door to exit the room, but winces at the huge pain in his right calf and topples down onto one knee. Lion tries to help him up, but Lonewolf swats his hand away from him as if it were an extremely annoying bug. "Don't touch me!" He hissed as he glared at Lion. He slowly came to his feet and began walking towards the door again.

Lonewolf glared at Lion ferociously. He opened his mouth, obviously about to curse at him and demand Lion to let him go, but a familiar voice in his head stopped him.

In Lonewolf's head

"He has a right to know, Lone. Just tell him...please..."

Being the hard-headed man that Lonewolf was, he usually never listens to anyone other then himself or those he really cares about...Stephanie was one of "those". He hesitated at first, obviously fighting it...but eventually gives in soberly.

Fine...

"Thank you, Lone. That means a lot to me."

Yeah, yeah...don't rub it in...

Though Lonewolf could not admit it, Stephanie knew Lonewolf was still his usual kind and generous self deep within his heart. He just needed a little bit of convincing was all...

She is never going to give up on him.

In the hospital room

Lonewolf sighed heavily. "Very well." He said silently as his body slumped from the binding spell. "Let me go, I'm not going anywhere." Lion did as he said and released Lone from the binding spell. Lone walked over to the hospital window, his back exposed to Lion. "It all began 600 years ago. After I got married..."

600 years ago

It was a joyous occasion in the chapel of Cliffside Village. Though there weren't many witnesses, that didn't bother Lonewolf one bit. He puffed up his chest as he straightened his tie and let out a long sigh. "How do I look?" He asked the priest. The priest nodded and smiled. "Yeah...I don't think I look that good in a suit either..." said Lone as he raised an eyebrow and smiled a crooked, mischievous smile. The music commenced...he turned slowly, bracing himself for what he was about to see....there she was...his beautiful bride to be, clad in white garments. She slowly made her way down the aisle, step by step. Glowing radiantly with the early morning light that emanated from the stained glass windows of the church. She eventually made her way next to Lone, who smiled warmly at her. He hooked her arm with his and they both turned to regard the priest. The priest went on with the usual wedding vows, Lonewolf listening intently as he was sure his wife was...



Unbeknownst to him, however. This was only the beginning of his downfall.

Wedding night

After a long night of making love with his wife, Lonewolf fell sound asleep. Only to awake with emence pain in his abdomen, he opened his eyes sudenly and in horror saw his own beloved wife stabbing furiously at his stomache with a kitchen knife. However, the one thing that horrified him the most was the look on her face when she was doing it. She was enjoying every second of it...Lonewolf placed both hands on her face and fired a dark purple energy blast from both palms, blowing her off of him and into a wall. A heated battle commenced as they fought in hand-to-hand combat. Eventually ending up with Lonewolf flat on his back and missing his right eye which got slashed out when his wife got her knife again. His wife pounced at him with the kitchen knife back in her hand, but before she landed on him, Lone held out both of his legs and caught her by the stomache with them, then used her momentum to toss her over him and out the window. The glass shattered and he could hear the distant shriek of his X-wife coming from outside, followed by a very loud "Thud!" By this time he has already lost a lot of blood and slowly dragged his own body with his hands towards the hotel desk where Violet was sitting and bobbing her head from side to side as she was in screensaver mode. He slowly and achingly made his way towards her and barely nudged her to snap her out of it. He then passed out.

Back in the hospital

"After that night, I was a changed man." Continued Lonewolf, still with his back towards Lion. "Losing Stephanie was bad enough...but after I lost Jessica..." Lonewolf slowly lifted his right hand and looked down at his palm. "It was as if something in me had transformed...not only was I heartbroken and grief-stricken, but I was also filled with hatred. Hatred towards her for betraying me...hatred towards myself for believing her...and hatred towards the world itself. I finally realized how pointless everything I had done was. While I was off fighting Mortamus and the others, people from all over the world were killing each other. I stripped myself of my name, gave up fighting for justice, and abandoned the guild and its members completely. I grew cynical, and now despise the human race." He turned to look at Lion. His facial expression as blank as ever...but his single left eye, it was the eye of a cold-hearted individual. Eyes that Lion did not recognize. "They are evil." He nodded in the direction of the door, "Liars and killers. All of them. We human beings are nothing but sinners and we are all doomed to burn in hell. The world only grows worse and worse as the generations progress. So tell me this, dragoon: Why the hell should I risk my life every day and save evil from evil? What the ******** is the point in that?! Let the sinners sin. I couldn't give a rat's a** about them anymore." He turned his head slightly to the side and sighed heavily, trying to regain his composure, "As for how I've survived all these years? You can blame that on the damned blood of the Legendary Dragoon." He said this with extreme derisiveness. "That is my curse. My age at the moment is equal that of to a man in his late thirties....as for Hajimate...well, he IS a demon after all, therefore he is immortal." He turned his back to Lion again and looked out the window once again. "As for why I was so beat up...Hajimate did this to me. He has BEEN attacking me ever since I gave up my name and the guild and went into exile. For 600 years, he has been trying to 'beat some sense into me' as he called it. I remained resolute, however today he went a little overboard with his beating and nearly killed me." A sneer crossed his lips, " I welcomed every second of it." He stated as cold as ice. He then regarded Lion with the same sneer, "Then YOU just had to 'come to the rescue' like some kind of ******** hero! You are and always WERE a fool, Lionheart. I could've been freed from this hellhole we call 'earth' and you messed it up! Yeah...thanks a lot." He said that last part with a sarcastic tone as he rolled his eye and gave Lion the cold shoulder, turning his back to him once again. "Just stay the hell away from me. I don't need your help, or anyone else's for that matter."

Violet looked from Lion to Lone,
"Master..." She began, almost in a whisper, "Do we have to leave so soon? Sir Lion is hurt and he helped to bring you here anyway. We've been gone so long... couldn't we stay a while?"

Leon looked up, slightly shocked, "What...what the hell is this!?" He stood up, glaring at Lonewolf. "If I were you..I would leave first. After all, you don't exist in this time. The window..." said Leon, pointing at the window, "You can escape from there."

Lion plopped back down on his bed. "That..that can't be Lonewolf. He wouldn't direct a murderous intention towards a friend..that can't be him."

Present Time at the school

Kenji sat down at an empty table and sighed as he set the plastic foam tray of food on the table. It was weird to him how people can just keep going on with their lives..but then again, it was only Kinera, Rayl, and himself that were actually opened to the truth. He continued to stir the mashed potatoes in thought, oblivious to his surroundings.

((Sorry about me being gone, long story.))

Kinera sat at the lunch table a pencil in one hand and a spoon in another. She was almost done with Leon's homework, "Thanks for dinner last night, Rayl. I know you are up to something though." She looked up at her brother briefly before going back to work. Her guess was Rayl needed her help, or her homework, for something. Kinera took another spoonful of food careful not to get anything on her homework. "You going to eat those potatoes?"
