Usually Tifa was level headed and calm but this situation was starting to frustrate her. They couldn't understand what the two-leggers were saying. She nodded confidently and attempted to regain her composure. "Thank you..." She would stay near Yei and her friend for now. It didn't seem wise to be alone anyway... The mare glanced at the old man in silence... Something was ... off about him. But he wasn't a soquili so she couldn't just say what.

Oyohusa Respectful? Elder? Oyohusa had never heard these words in so long... especially said to him. What sort of place was this? He felt so at home the way people exchaged caring glances with him. A part of him hoped he wasn't the one who had ravaged this village but another part wished it was. He was like Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde.. two halves.. one evil.
Oyohusa grimiced and sunk down low into a seating position with a bowed head. "Please leave me be. I'm not worthy to be called such words by you.. I'm a wretched old man in need of nourishment.." he replied. Nayuli shook her head at the youger ones of the viliage she gather what of her food was not ruined and walked over to him. "Here you are. Forgive the others they are in an up roar of the damage in the villiage. I know its not much but its all I have for now." She said handing him a cloth with two corn bickets and an apple.

Forgetting Halloween at Yei's shout of alarm, Verbena raised her head, trying to spot who the mare had been speaking about. Some old man. He looked harmless. It HAD to be a Kalona - they were so enamoured with the idea it was someone other than a Soquili even some helpless old man would be harassed. This was getting out of hand.
"Certaintly. He slashed up their bellies with his bare hands. Is that what you're thinking?" Verbena whinnied, trying her hardest to be heard. "Perhaps he had a run in with our culprit, and that's why he smells of them." Her eyes caught something on the man's back. A pelt, perhaps? Had he killed the creature? He didn't look capable of killing anything, but one never knew. It would be too bad if it was a coyote - she didn't think animals should be blamed.

Tiana looked at the old man suspiciously. "Why do you wear naught but a coyote pelt, elder?" she asked, tilting her head. "Do you wish to identify yourself with this...atrocity that has happened? Since naught but a wretched coyote would show such disdain by spraying on everything."

"I have some carrots with me..." She reached into her quilled pouch and pulled out a few of the orange vegetable. They were meant for her horse but if he needed food it would have to work.

Maeryn scowled at the two-legger princess, irritated by the tone of the woman's voice. It was useless to try to appease them. Screw that effort, she might as well stand on her head, and do a dance for them, for all that they would believe her if she joined her herd mate in that pursuit. She scanned the crowd, catching sight of Heartless, and swiveled an ear curiously. Hmm. Another Kalona? Interesting. Perhaps she could be convinced to join the cause. She'd have to look into it later. For now, the black mare kept to the shadows, and watched them all, searching for a culprit.

Nagual stood back, let the two-leggers deal with one of their own! She wanted nothing to do with him!!! Her ears still pinned, the mare leaned near Yei as the other mare moved the arrowhead. "I don't think two-leggers can change to soquilis.. .or canines. Maybe it is not him, but his companion? That doesn't change anything; I still don't like him.
The mare looked around, seeing if there were any soquili or canines lurking in the shadows. If he was here they could not be too far behind.

Selene watched the old man curiously. He seemed to be causing a hubbub there. She glanced down at the carrot in her mouth, then at the frail old man and stepped forward, joining the two-leggers in offering food.
Her eyes lit on many Soquili she knew, landing on Aurorealis. She'd have to talk to him later.

Meeki Soquili Soquili had been sleeping on Mesarthim all night but she woke up when a kalona came towards her. She had never met him before.
"A kalona? Have you come to take Mesarthim's life?" she cried out. What business did this kalona have...? Rötschreck did not understand the words but he did understand the expression that he saw in the two leggers eyes. He took a few steps back and lowered his head again in another bow. Glamrock appeared behind Rot, galloping over to the group as she had heard the news of what happened from the animals that were frightened senseless. When she heard that some soquilis had been injured, she rushed over without a stop for breath!
The wise and elegant unicorn lowered herself beside the injured mare. She hated attempting this act in front of the two-leggers because she had seen the greed come over them in the past.. in the old herd she and Chaos were a part off... eventually her kind had been hunted and killed for their horn. But she trusted the Kawana tribe. They seemed to have pure hearts, at least most of them.
She wasn't sure if she would even be able to help. She didn't know what kind of damage was done or what kind of magic might be at work here, but she lowered her horn to rest nearby the wound and she closed her eyes and willed deep within her, trying to call forth the healing magic she knew she rarely used. ((Feel free to have it fail, I just thought it would be a sweet attempt.)) "No.. it couldn't of been a kalona. They take souls from those dying. They don't attempt murder themselves unless someone tries to hurt them first. Mesarthim wouldn't hurt a fly." she said to the kalona. ]
Soquili felt bad for accusing the kalonas in her heart for the crimes.. she just didn't know who or what created this evil. Everyone was so happy but now she only saw tears in her people's eyes.
A splended unicorn came out from behind the kalona and dipped its horn into Mesarthim's wound. The magic healed a little bit but the evil was too great for a complete recovery. Mesarthim opened her eyes and attempted to get up but she was too weak.
"What happened?" she asked Glamrock.

It had finally happened, that overwhelming sense of dread had enveloped him and before he had had time to sufficiently quench his thirst he had bolted from the slopes of the mountain and towards the Kawani village where the scream had come from - he had only left his new companion a few hours ago and due to the close proximity of the forest to that village he couldn't help but feel that something had gone drastially wrong.
Quickening his pace, Cloud Strife galloped towards the village and came to an abrupt halt just outside the large throng of Soquili and people alike, his eyes searching the crowd for any sign or indication of what he dreaded most.
...He'd only met her but still, he felt like he had known her almost his entire life.

Lightning trotted jauntily to the village, hoping for some two leggah love. Sure, they were stupid, and ugly, but a few always had a treat for him. He grinned obliviously, not smelling the fear or the urine. "Twwooo leggers!" The stallion called loudly, as a child might for his dog. "Hello..?" Light looked around. Something seemed out of place.. he couldn't quite place his hoove on it, though. Oh! There was a two'er! A girl, holding a carrot to a stallion version of a two'er. "Hi there!" He grinned, knowing she wouldn't understand him. The bulky stallion trotted over to her quickly, and nuzzled her for a carrot.

Miakoda watched the old one, feeling nervous. She respected the old ones the most (aside from the Chief and his children), and she slowly approached Oyohuso, followed by Hania. She felt comforted that her stallion friend was here, and that a few of her other Indian friends were here as well. "Saika, it's all right," she finally breathed. "Our Soquili are here with us, are they not? They will help." In deed they would. She then spotted Krouw. "Krouw!" Her Indian friend with whom she lived with. "I was worried! I didn't see you in the teepee!"
Aruna nodded to Myoa, and spotted Astia. "Tia!" she whispered with horror. Astia hated humans! Why was she here? "Tia, go back home! Now!" Astia was like her sister; she couldn't let the mare see this village. "Astia, if you're going to stay, come over here!" she commanded. Although she knew she sounded completely unlike herself, her worry and fear overrode her sensible side.
Hania eyed the old human carefully. Would he attack? What was he wearing? He smelled terrible, at that. Phew. Did this human just not take baths? Then the man's scent clicked. He had smelled this scent before... where?

Yei strained to see if the pelt-covered man had a companion to speak of but she couldn't see a thing, the throng of humans and soquili was making it difficult to pick out anything but as of yet, he was one of the only people she could point out that had that distinguishing scent and he had only just arrived...he was an entirely new face.
And yet...
"What if it was the pale-faces?" She enquired suddenly, "What if they brought a great evil spirit with them when they came across the sea?" She hissed, only partially aware she was being a tad irrational.

"Yes, our Soquilis will keep us from harm." She gasped, now kneeling on the floor with exhaustion.
Myoa nuzzled Degewi to let him know she was there. "Chief Talwai, we are here to protect you..." She began.

Astia whimpered as she entered the village, instantly overwhelmed by the smell of two leggers and death. She gagged, her eyes watering. "Ru?" The mare looked around, hearing her sister's voice. "Ru!" Why was she here? Tia was hungry, and grass hadn't been doing it for her lately. "Ru! What's that smell?" Tia gagged again, but carefully trotted up to Ru, and nuzzled her. "What happened? What.. Just.. Oh god, that smell is awful!"
