The Dragonair closed its eyes, once again seeing the last desperate image of its family. It saw in its hindsight the small colony of the dragon type and its evolutions that used to live off the coast of Lilycove. It was a sheltered colony, in fact, not too many people knew of its existence.

So when Team Aqua had come, it was a shock to all.

The Dragonair looked back sadly, saw the underwater rock formation where they had taken shelter, blown to bits in Team Aqua's frantic search for something off the coast. Whatever it was they were looking for, they searched recklessly and with total abandon. The Dragonair shivered, recalling the sight of the formation shuddering, a lone Dragonite rushing around the top, the leader of its clan, calling frantic orders to the bitter end.

The Dragonair saw the formation crumble, and watched the Dragonite vanish into the crumbling blocks. It closed its eyes all the tighter, trying to hold back the tears. It had to defeat them, it had to push the Aquas far, far away.

The smaller dragon type slithered through the small opening between the boulders, moving into the evening moonlight, leaping into the air almost immediately after sliding clear and darted upwards into the wind. It glanced all around, keen eyes searching every shadow and every play of moonlight with a cursory glance, before heading farther up the coast.

It came to the side of the shoreline just as the Aquas swarmed the campsite of the trainers. The Dragonair ducked behind some brush not far away, and watched silently.

Brayden recalled his Pokemon with a small smile, "You did great, guys," he praised, biting back a yawn, still a bit drowsy from the sudden awakening. He glanced around the camp, spotting Kaya finishing up his match as well.

"Grats," he grinned. "Nothing like an early morning wake-up call, huh?"

Kaya smiled after a few moments and then walked over to a group of bushes nearby. Let's just say he had business to take care of and couldn't wait long enough to get back into town. He'd only just woken up after all.

"AHHH!" he shouted and stumbled backwards, landing on his butt in with his overlarge pants having fallen down his legs to his ankles. He sat in his boxers in the sand watching as a Dragonair emerged from the bushes and examined the white wings clipped to his shoes.
