Zira smiled wondering if she had ever seen him in the desert they were about the same age and Zira new about must everyone whom came through the desert when she was younger.
As they finaly reached where the sand begain to cover the ground.
Zira's pace picked up and she looked abit more comfortable.
The sand felt good to her as it shifted beneath her hooves.
"The place where going is where my herd members used to race....I only got to race there a few times and only halfway through. They would stop the foals before it got to the more dangerous parts of the path."

"Your short on your words." Zira didnt seem to be paying attention to the ground. She knew the different sands and knew they were safe for now.
Zira started to go faster, in know way was this the race yet she was just having fun.
Large Pillars of crimson sedimentary rocks came into view she ran towards them. Two pillars created a path of shadow which she entered.
The ground was hard there and hoof beats echoed off the walls of rock. She would glance at Rahu everyonce in awhile to make sure he was ok.
Finally the path opened to a wide space surrounded by about five was out.
She came to a stop so they could catch their breath before starting the real race.

"Not quite this is the starting line." Zira walked forwards abit looking around. Signs of soquilli having been their a long time ago.
"This is where everyone would gather, I lived much futher into the desert in a place called the outlands, but there were other branchs of the herd that lived near here. We are very different from the herds like that of where you are from. There were four heards each having its King and Queen. In signs of peace and to honor the territory laws we would meet here to rekindle friendships once a season. If you notice there are five paths in this opening besides the large one we stand at now. Each path amazingly enough points to one of the herds lands. We would enter in thoses paths gather in the middle then take turns racing on the last remaining path strait ahead of us and at days end we would leave through the large path together as one......Sounds silly doesnt it?" Zira laughed at the thought of the herds ways.
"Anyways are you ready to race?"
The real reason she had brought Rahu here was so he would know abit more about her and why she acted the ways she did she had be a princess of the outlanders herd and even though the herd was gone it wasn't beging easily forgotten about due to thoses that knew of her as a foal.

"Alright then, becareful on the path. The parts I can remember are sharp rocks and snakes. Ive been told the further parts are quicksand and then clay paths that you could fall through. It was rare that anyone got hurt though. While this was a race to test one's skills it was also to build a brotherhood as you worked to keep each other safe while still trying to win yourself. The path leads in a circle and ends here where we stand. Its a long race so we should drink first." Zira smiled before walking towards a pile of rocks where there was a small amount of water. She drank what was there than stood aside for Rahu and the water dripped from the rocks refilling it within a few moments.

"Everyone must travel the path for the first time, we ran in age groups so no one would know the path more than the other. It would be wise, but where is the fun in that? Wait ...you've probly not been taught how to avoid quick sand or how to listen to the sand for that matter. Perhaps your right for now maybe one day we can go further. Alright the finish line I remember is a long sharp rock that is in the middle of the path. Its just a hurtle to jump for adults but as a foal it seemed large."
Zira made her way to the opening of the race path.
"Im starting the count down rather your ready of not. On your mark ....go!!!" Zira took off into the path kicking up dust as she went at first the path was thin but then branched off into a field of sharp rocks that could be bad if one fell.

Zira gave a whinny looking back at him for a moment before looking ahead. She lost herself in thought for a moment as she remembered running this path as a child it was thrilling to be doing it again. Some larger rocks were in the path up ahead and she jumped them without problem but yet out a yelp as she dodged a snake that bit at her.
"Rahu snake just behind the rocks!!" Zira wondered how crazy her herds must have been to let foals run this path, but then again it didnt seem so crazy back then.

Zira hit her brakes and turned to run to Rahu.
This was all her fault why did she bring him here? He was hurt now and he wouldnt have been if not for her stupid idea.
"Rahu did it bite you? Did you see what type it was?" Zira asked in a panic wondering if she had to worry about poisen.
