Sorry, but this is totally false. I've played through the game enough times, trying to see if every possible rumor about saving Aerith would work, but to no avail, because they were all LIES. Tifa will NOT jump in the way to save Aerith, because she (and all your other party members, for that matter) are waiting towards the bottom of the area watching Cloud. Why didn't they go up after Cloud, one might ask? Well, those steps that they have to hop on are actually quite narrow, and the area above is also rather small. Plus, none of the characters had any way of knowing that Sephiroth was there to kill Aerith (as in they didn't know he was above her), so even if they tried to get up there, they wouldn't have made it in time. That's also why Cloud couldn't save her. He didn't expect Sephiroth to come out of no where and skewer Aerith.

This sounds like it was cooked up by someone who didn't like Tifa for all the wrong reasons. Honestly, this sounds like it was cooked up by one of the mean Aerith fans (kinda like how all the characters have a "mean" fan worshipping them and dissing on other characters). Thankfully, after almost eight years of debating, most of them have started to get along now, and tolerate each other. sweatdrop

but i say Tifa! although you can make it either one by saying certain things in the game, you determine the future of cloud and aeris/tifa, it doesnt have to be one sided, i personally tried getting both but i ended up more with aeris even though i liked Tifa more... sweatdrop

I honestly believe it was Aeris. I say that because of the end sequense of the game. He reached out to Aeris's hand coming toward him, although Tifa was there...but that was only because he was about to fall.

Ah, did you read that article too? Also, wasn't Hironobu Sakaguchi's mother's name Aki, meaning "autumn?" I believe that it was also stated (elsewhere) that Sakaguchi-san's mother's name was used for the character Aki in The Spirits Within. It's sad that Sakaguchi-san's mother died, but it was amazing how he was able to use that event in his life to inspire him and make gamers around the world cry their eyes out.

Cloud belongs with Tifa. Cloud may not have realized it in the game but he surely does love Tifa. Aeris is a friggin' distraction!! scream

It wasn't Yuffie or SquareSoft would have made her a manditory character. But i have the feeling he loved them both. Here's why...

Tifa because he knew her since childhood and joined SOLDIER (or tried to) to impress her. They kinda hit on each other throughout the game too. And Tifa gave Cloud the AVALNCHE job offering to keep him around. Aeris because during the first trip to Cosmo Canyon, Aeris says she's all alone. But Cloud says, "But i'm... we're...." Also, in Kingdom Hearts, Cloud is looking for his light. It becomes evident that he means Aeris (or Aerith). Either Square feels guilty about killing her off, they want us confused, or Cloud really does love her, we'll never know. But since Aeris died, Tifa wins -- i guess.
