Hello, I'm Kelsey, and I joined this guild to find out about all the classical books I need to read. I must admit, I haven't read much Hemmingway, Scott Fitzgerald, or Faulkner. But I adore Gertrude Stein, Mark Twain, and Kurt Vonnegut. I bought a copy of Slaughter House Five while in Kentucky a few months ago, and am avidly awaiting the mailing of said book.
I've been writing since I was seven years old, and have lately been under the influence of Lidia Yuknavitch, who teaches English and writing courses at my college.
I am slowly pressing through Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke, along with reading Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn in one set. I think the two will have some interesting contrasts I didn't pick up at say, 12.
I look forward to getting to know all of you, and trading books we feel we must pass on.

Hello, I'm Midaha. Like you didn't know that. xp

I joined because... well, I like to read, and that's all there really is to it. Usually I prefer fantasy or science fiction books, but I read pretty much every genre.

Hi, I'm Freya, or Frey-Frey. I read everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. One week I'll be reading a historical fiction and the next a sci-fi. My favorites though are usually the character-driven science fiction novels. There are very few of those, though. Meh. And whatever I'm reading, I won't shut up about, and it gets on my friends' nerves.

Right now I won't shut up about: Catcher in the Rye

Hi, I'm Becky, or Azi, whichever.

I'll read anything I can get my hands on, and for the past year or so my favourite book has been Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. (And those just happen to be my favourite authors for their other books as well.)

Hey, you can call me SaraphinaRed or any other cute nickname you might think of. smile I tend to go through phases as far as what I like to read - I've had my historical novel phase, vampire-themed horror novels (like Laurell K. Hamilton's Blake series), gothic romance, and biographies & autobiographies. The last book I read was the diaries of Anais Nin, vol 1.

'Ello. The names Mistress Bishounen, or for short, MB. sweatdrop Speaking of my name...I made it few years back without actually thinking of its meaning...so yeah, I know its a bit weird.

One of my favorite authors definately has to be Jerry Spinelli. His books are just plain awesome (his sense of humor is great, as well)

I don't have a favorite book of all time, but some I've enjoyed are Sweep ( haven't finished the series yet ), Never Trust A Dead Man, Hidden Talents, The Other Side of Dark, Stargirl, and I'm currently reading Men At Arms (which involves a scenes with an accidental clown murdering and exploding dragons)

cool Umm...nice to meet everyone, and I hope you all give me money...I mean, I hope to enjoy my stay here.

I'm Meredith or Mer for short. Although... a lot of people on here tend to call me Nicole. sweatdrop But it doesn't matter.

I joined this guild because like the rest of you, I have a mad passion for books. If you were to take my books away (NO!), I would go into a deep dark depression and most likely become a recluse with violent outbursts.

Anyways. I have lots of books that I really like but I don't know if I actually have a favourite. I like rereading books that I like. For example, I've read Where the Red Fern Grows multiple times along with Ella Enchanted.

I would have to say that my favourite authors at the moment are Vivian Vande Velde and J.K. Rowling.

I love your banner! If I give you full credit and if I host it, could I put it in the sticky thread?

Hello everyone, my name is Gloom. I'm here because I have a passion for reading and am always eager for discussion about literature, so this guild seemed like a nice place to be. :3

I like all genres, fiction and nonfiction. I especially love children's literature, fairy tales, folklore, mythology and legends from all different cultures. I've currently been reading a lot of Greek mythology. As for fiction, I read a lot of fantasy and sci-fi, but I enjoy historical fiction too, and I've been reading a lot of classics lately.

Choosing favorites is difficult...some favorite books would be Watership Down and The Plague Dogs by Richard Adams, A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle, the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket, the His Dark Materials trilogy by Phillip Pullman, the Abhorsen trilogy by Garth Nix, Animal Liberation by Peter Singer, and lots more.

Some of my favorite authors are Douglas Adams, Chuck Palahniuk, David Sedaris, Edward Gorey, Lewis Carroll, Meredith Ann Pierce and Gregory Maguire.

Hi, on here I'm dawn_anne. It's too hard to pick a favorite book and author; I just have to many of them. I hope that this is acceptable to the people here. There is not much more to say, except I can't wait to talk to all of you later!

Hello, I'm Chiiko. I don't think I have a favorite author. I go through phases. Right now, it's all about Gaston Leroux (Who wrote the classic The Phantom of the Opera), and E.M. Forster (for the not very well-known Maurice. I really like fantasy and romance. Do any of you have recommendations for me?
