You all reach Tavick's Market in about 21 minutes. Since it is late in the evening, many of the shops are closed or closing, and the rain has stopped much of the business in the open air market that is the main attraction in the district. Abdalin catches up with the party as they meander around the market, a couple of hours later. ((it is a long walk from Middle Tavick's Landing to Lower Dura and back smile ))

In the time you spent looking around Tavick's Market, you discovered the shop of Paln d'Cannith. A sign hangs above the door: "MASTERFUL MAGICAL MISCELLANY."
A small carved plaque, attached to the door, notes that the store is "CLOSED FOR VACATION."
While you all approach the store, Abdalin arrives.

Sounding a bit winded and strained, stare "A few things really. First we try the door to see if it's locked. If it is you guys search around to find an open while we either wait for the brainless-rogue-who-would-buy-a-barrel-of-ale to arrive to pick the lock. And finally so we get to bored or he should take too long, we just break the bloody door down. Unless the soceress happens to have a open door or knock spell" stare

"More like a permenant vacation. And I am not brainless. I figured we could barter with the ale. The Daask love the stuff. They also love human flesh Ziggy. I'll open the door, but I do believe we should then head to the Gate of Gold. We are spending time when we know that he is dead," Abdalin protests as he opens his backpack. Checking for traps that this Cannith member might have set first he finally gets to the task of opening the lock. Strewning his equipment across the ground, he finds the correct pick and begins to open the lock.
Search Check: Roll = 7+7 = 14 Disable Device Check(if there is one): Roll = 13+7 = 20 Pick Lock Check: Roll = 19+9=28

(looks about cautiously under the hood of her forest-green cloak) (whispers) "are you sure this is ok? O mean isnt this like--" (she stops short before she even finishes what she was about to say, for fear of being lashed at or upsetting any of the party members )

Abdalin didn't find any traps on the door, and he manages to open the lock.
Looking around, you don't see anyone on the street. Well, you didn't, not until the patrol of watchmen (their badges and black cloaks identify them as members of the Black Arch garrison of the Sharn Guard) turned onto the street. There's two gaurds and they see your party. They approach, hard looks on their faces. The front guard, gripping his halberd in one hand, points at Abdalin and asks, "You there... halfling! And all of you! What are you doing at this late of an hour gathering in the streets?"

stare "I'm sorry sirs." stare Bowing before the watchmen. stare "I was inviting my new drinking companions into my shop...Well, actually it's masters shop, but until he's home it's mine." stare Opening the door, stare "Allow me to introduce my, my name is Alfred. I'm a merchant as well as. I'm trainning under my master, but he hasn't been contacted me for further training and started becoming rather worried. Course I found a letter that says he's going out to meet some gnomes or something like that and to watch his shop while he was gone." stare Pointing to the barrels on his back, stare "Would you boys like to come in as well, tempt you with a drink perhaps? I have some tea and some quality ale?" stare

Whispering to Ziggy, "You lie like a thief, well what is it to expect from a merchant, nice work." Abdalin stands up slowly and looks to the guards, "Let's get this party started! Woo! Break out the ale boys, lets celebrate here Alfred's triumphant sales in the market!"
He stands next in the middle of the group, keeping his jovial expression, but in a hushed voice says the door is open. Now looking happy as ever he talks to the guards. "Alfred here knew that the door would be open, you see, he left it this way so we could return to it tonight. I've told him a hundred times that you can't trust this world, the less scrutable character might take advantage of such things."

stare "Yes of course my friend, but if I don not extend trust to another, how can I think that they will ever trust me? Enough talk!! Let's get inside, warm ourselves up and drink!" stare Leading the way, Ziggy, gives a small salute to Abdalin for the second time today.
