"I'll admit that you humans happen to have a few foods that are alright..." Sesshomaru looked at her as she eyed him warily and he raised a brow at her as he usually did. "That's something small that could definitely be over looked. Just for you miko... however, I think you should call me by that title more often."
At her words about their children, he nodded in agreement and flicked his tail as he shook his head, beginning to imagine her with the three little pups.
"Of course they will have and be the best of both of our worlds and I look forward to training them even though I'm sure you'll spoil them far too much but-" He stared at her for a moment before continuing on again. "Your mother wants to meet me? How much have you even told her of me?" He asked, moving his claws carefully against her fingers absentmindedly as he questioned her.

Kagome rolled her eyes at his comment but didn't pull away, "That was sarcasm, mister. Sarcasm."
With her other hand, she began to play idly with his tail. She was fascinated by its tendency to flip around when she stroked it.
"I wouldn't spoil them (much)..." she protested.
"Um, that you're the father? And that you were related to Inuyasha?" Kagome offered, "HOW we ended up in the situation, however, I didn't go into detail. She wouldn't be happy if she knew..." Combing her fingers through the silky fur, she contined, "She was really surprised when I told her about you. But Mama's really supportive. Ji-chan... Not so much..."
Her eyes lowered at the mention of her grandfather. "Ne, don't hold it against Ji-chan if you want to see them please? He is after all a priest. And right now... whatever our relationship is... it's a huge paradox to him."

"Sarcasm? Honestly, I couldn't tell at all." He shot back at her as he rolled his own eyes. "Usually the way you use it annoys me to no end but I think you should use that form of sarcasm more often."
Sesshomaru listened intently to her as she explained her family's opinions to their situation and closed his eyes, mulling over everything she had said before he answered her.
"Your mother...sounds a lot like you." He moved his tail as she began to run her fingers through his fur, brushing it against her gentle fingers. He'd force himself to stop every now and then and remind himself who was with but was far too easy to forget that and relax again.
He could only imagine how uncomfortable that conversation had to have been. Her daughter was telling her she was pregnant but the father was the half brother of her traveling companion....He groaned to himself. Why did their lives sound like a human soap opera?
"But she was only surprised? Humans have such weird minds. I do not hold anything against your grandfather as long as he doesn't not try to purfify me like you threaten. I believe my own family would be following the same lines of your grandfather. I do not see any of them coming anytime soon to give their blessing. And our relationship..." He stared down at her and wrapped his tail lightly around her hand for a moment. "Is none of their concern."

Kagome ignored his comment and continued to play with his tail.
Briefly recalling her mother's reaction, she couldn't help but think that it was odd. It was a bit of a blank stare followed by a simple "oh" and "who's the father?" No extremely comfortable questions asked.
"I hope I can be like her... Raising Souta and me with only Ji-chan to help..." she smiled softly, "I don't think Ji-chan has the ability to purify. He tried sealing the well before but it was only pieces of paper..."
Hearing about his relatives, the young woman bit her lower lip, "I guess saying that they don't approve is putting it lightly..." Her melancholy was displaced when he silently reassured her with a gentle squeeze of his tail.

"Your spiritual powers must have skipped a few generations... poor fool." Sesshomaru said after hearing that her grandfather had no strange abilities himself. "Visiting your family..." He rolled those words over and over in his mind before speaking again. "Perhaps I could bare it."
He glanced down at her comment about his family and blinked once as he pulled his thoughts together before he replied.
"I'd rather not think about their opinion but yes, miko, that is putting it lightly. At least for two members of my family, if that is what you can call us. My father must be very amused at the moment.... but the others, a duel is surely going to occur." A sudden thought crossed his mind as began to take up running his claws against her hand again. "Have you told your other companions yet?"

Kagome smiled brightly. After all, to "bare it" was a step (or maybe several steps) up from despising humans.
Her ears drooped at Sesshomaru's comment. Of course the strict youkai society wouldn't simply allow a human girl to enter. Or the human one for that matter...
"Told everybody...? Erm..." She suddenly yelped as the puppies squirmed around, reacting to her anxiety. "Ah, sorry. They're acting up a bit..."
"...I don't know how they're going to take it..."

Sesshomaru stared at her smiling face for a moment and rolled his eyes.
"You're easy to please, you know that?" He said as he noticed her change in mood. Opening his mouth to comment on it, he thought better of it and raised a brow at her yelp and for a moment he thought he scratched her unintentionally. Awkward words of a rushed apology almost escaped but he relaxed again when she said it was the puppies. Lifting his hand from hers, he trailed it lightly against one of her drooping ears before he replaced it back over her hand and shook his head.
"You need to rest miko and stop worrying over those things." He thought about her companions and scoffed at the idea that anyone would have something bad to say. "If there are issues, I'm sure I could solve them. My own way of course." Sesshomaru looked away from her, thinking over something for a moment before looking back at her. "As I said before, their opinions shouldn't matter..."

((*shot* x___x *sneaks in a few previews* ninja )) She felt him gently brush one of her ears before the gentle pressure returned over her hand. Her stomach felt like it was full of butterflies and Kagome was sure that the sensation had nothing to do with the puppies. She attempted to appear nonchalant to the source of the butterflies. "I'm pregnant, not crippled. Everyone's been telling me to rest..." she said dryly. Kagome stroked his silky tail. "But these are my best friends. I can't just go "Hey! Guess what? I'm pregnant with Sesshomaru's babies! Surprise!"..."

He gave his eyes a roll at her remark about everyone telling her to rest and took her hand in his
"Not cripple at all but Miko, I don't feel like carrying you if you collapse and what is your fascination with my tail?" He asked, looking down at her hand on his tail. He trailed his tail along her wrist before encircling her hand again. Sesshomaru was silent for a moment after the last thing she said and
"I fail to see why approaching it like that wouldn't work. It's quick and to the point. Honestly, they should be proud of you. I would think someone would be honored to bare my children." He said, once more his smug self again.

Kagome stuck out her lower lip and pouted. He sure knew how to ruin the moment. Wouldn't guys normally say something like, "I'm just worried about you" or "I don't want anything bad to happen"...? This one on the other hand....
She shivered little at the sensation of the soft fur wrapping around her wrist. Continuing to stroke it, she made a nonsensical noise. Afterall, there was no need for a verbal reason.
Hearing his response, she sighed. "Besides the fact that you tried to kill my best friends a couple of times?" Reluctantly, she unwrapped his tail from her wrist. Without a word, she got up and walked towards the door. His smug demeanor was tiring...
((Which reminds me... I need to finish that fanfic... ))

Sesshomaru felt her shiver the moment his tail wrapped around her hand and for some reason; he did enjoy the reactions he was able to cause in her though he didn’t voice that pleasure aloud. Even the small noise she made was somewhat entertaining to him.
When she abruptly removed his hold of her however and began to head towards the door, he was slightly confused and he frowned after her. Of course, he had to have done something wrong. Women were so difficult to read he thought to himself.
His first reaction, which he hadn’t been expecting, was to try and continue to be close to her to which he promptly leaned out towards her to grab her hand and bring her back to him.
“Have I upset you?” He asked

She was a bit surprised when she felt him grab her hand. The Sesshomaru she knew would have simply allowed her to leave.
Kagome sighed and allowed the curtain of hair to block her face. "I don't want to fight with my friends. I don't want my best friend to hate me because I'm having his brother's children. I don't..."
Her grip tightened on his hand. She knelt down and cried. The stress of being pregnant, her fears about her friends, and her responsibilities came crashing down on her.

Sesshomaru watched Kagome return in silence, frowning though when she hid her face from view with her hair. He wouldn't apologize for what he had said to her because he believed it was true but when she began to speak, he could see that she wasn't mad or upset at him.
After a moment when her words simply faded away and she had knelt down before him, he could smell the salty scent of her tears as she began to cry and for a moment, he did nothing but allowed her to do just that. He had seen Rin cry a few times before and he hadn't done anything but walk away and let Jaken attend to her but yet, he had seen others comforting each other when they were upset so perhaps that was what one was supposed to do.
Pulling her swiftly against him to sit on his lap, the demon lord held her there carefully and began to run his claws gingerly through her hair.
"If they cannot support a decision you have made, it would be foolish to continue to call them your 'friends'." He spoke slowly, finally breaking his silence. He choose his words very carefully for fear of upsetting her further. "Is not said friends are supposed to support what you do?" He paused and stared at her intently for a moment before continuing again. "Even if they should turn on you, I can remain here for as long as you see fit miko."

The turbulent thoughts in her mind continued to wreck havoc on her sanity. She hadn't seen her friends for months. Did they find out and are now avoiding her? Her body stiffened at the thought.
Kagome squeaked when she was suddenly pulled into his lap. His rich voice soothed her raw nerves. What he was saying was true...
Her eyes widened at his last statement. "Really?" she whispered incredulously.

((Wow, I missed what you said about your fanfic *falls over* How much have you completed of it? ))
Sesshomaru moved his claws through her hair one last time before letting his hand fall and rest at her waist to make sure she didn't topple over like the turtle she compared herself to earlier as funny as that image still was to him. He concentrated instead on waiting for her tears to end and for her to regain composure.
When she questioned what he had said to her, he gave her a fierce look for questioning him.
"I've never had a reason to speak falsely to you," His fierce look softened somewhat as he leaned towards her. "And I haven't figured out what to make of this but I do mean what I said. It’s up to you.” He paused, studying her closely “What do you think of that?”
