Trying not to giggle at Ruby's reply Lasreaine raises her hand calmly, deciding to answer the hat-wearing man with her own question:
"Wouldn't writing anything just keep moving the thread up to the top, defeating the purpose of letting the bad threads die? Even if you can argue it, the double posting of threads that may result would be counter productive, and that is what would increase the workload, right? So we should report them and say nothing to the silly people that did not read the texts, for it accomplishes nothing but annoying everyone involved."

What about the people who post "This thread has been reported" in repeat/spam/misplaced threads? I realize that this is better than simply posting "wrong forum" or something like that, but it still bumps the thread up just like the other posts. It still does'nt help the immediate problem.
So isn't it better to report the thread and not post anything at all? Shouldn't that also be somewhere in our teachings?

You get a +1 to all checks involving wisdom from now on, and the ability to charm modist twice a day, as a fifth level cleric with the charisma domain.

Apparently, the combination of her long hours of study and the sudden explosion of pie-related discussion have left Moryera unable to contribute anything meaningful to the class. She hopes she doesn't get detention. Mr. Demon is sort of scary. ninja

Wait, I have another question!!!!!!!! Today in GD (which is a forum that could really use our help) somebody made this completely pointless topic and then about ten people in a row said something like "Go to chatterbox, you ******** moron." I figured that now was my chance to spread the good word, so I posted this:

People, just posting something like "This thread doesn't belong here" doesn't help the situation at all. Not only does it bump the thread back up to the top, it is pointless and repetitive. If you want to see this thread moved so much report it to a mod!!!! And if you're too lazy to do that, just don't post in it at all.
This thread has been reported. Have a good day.
This was met with slight hostility by some. I'm wondering if I did the right thing?
Also, I've never really PMed a mod to move a thread before, so I wondered whats the best way to say it?

You did the right thing, though it would be preferable if you include a link either here or to the DYB-thread. There's not much point in making them see the light if they have nowhere to follow it, right? Don't worry about hostility, GD is almost as tainted as the chatterbox and you're bound to run into idiots there. It's one of the places that needs the light of Mod the most, however.
He runs his fingers through his thick hair and lets his hand rest on the back of his neck.
And when PMing a Mod, I personally am always polite and appreciative of what I'm asking them to do. My intentions are always made clear in the title, for instance "mod needed". I also, obviously, submit a link(s) and a short description of why I don't think it belongs, even if it's just a type of thread, such as "repeat". I also always make sure to thank them and work in a heart , so they'll know that we acknowledge how much they help Gaia.
