Rin saw how hard they were being on #1, and slipped out of the man's grasp like liquid, rushing to his side. The men surrounding them looked puzzled as they couldn't seem to grab or hold on to Rin, like he was a different substance than just human. "#1! Allen! I'll... I'll save you!" But Rin's genie substance, the form he was using, couldn't fight back against the men holding #1 hostage.

The men were extremely confused by Rin's inability to harm them in any shape form. #1 took that time to jab his elbow into the man who was holding him. #1 rushed over to free Allen from the other's man's grasp. Suddenly one of the guys shot #1 in the shoulder, because the men were panicking Rin's gelatin like punches. #1 collapsed on top of Allen, and the men ran away in fright of killing an actual person.

Rin's activity ceased as his astonishment set in. "#1... you're bleeding!" he pointed out in his stupor. He phased in with a frowning face realizing how useless he sounded. "I'll go get you help! Just stay right here, I'll only be a second!"

The last match flickered out in Rin's hand. "As you wish..." Rin murmured, kneeling by his side. He put his hand on #1's shoulder and in a few seconds he was gone. All that was left to remind them of Rin's presence was a red braided tassel from his sash; three strands.
(Oh, isn't it fun writing about Rin dramatically. whee ))

#1 watched as Rin faded, "I said stay with me dumby..."He hissed at his pain in the shoulder and decided to lay down on to the floor next to Allen. "I can't stand anymore..." He lifted his hand to see the blood all over it. He covered his wound back again with his hand and leaned against the wall. "It's all for nothing...isn't it, life that is...?"

#1 picked up the three strands that Rin left behind. He held them between his fingers and stared at them. He put the strands near his lips, feeling them softly touch them. "Rin...you idiot..." He held on to the strands of thread and let them be near his wound. Watching a drip of blood, fall on to the strand. He softly said, "I never even found love yet...I don't want to die."

A coat of soft orange flame enveloped the wound as the blood dripped down the length of thread. Suddenly there was a slight weight on his shoulder, and as the smoke cleared it was Rin's hand that rested there. "Silly boy," Rin smiled, "did I scare you again?" Rin wrapped a scarf around his shoulder and sat beside the two others. "I can't stay around once I've granted my last wish, it's against the rules. I had to find a new disguise. But I never left."

"So you'll always still be here..." #1 sighed, and slightly punched Rin in the shoulder with his good arm. "Don't do that! I thought you heard me wrong or something!" #1 said in irritable tone. Though his eyes were gazing at him, welcoming him back.

"Hey, I'm just full of surprises," Rin understated. "We should get you to a hospital, soon, though, and Allen to somewhere where he can call his... oh, wait. He's not supposed to be able to do that yet. Well, nothing a little memory altering wish can't fix." He sat up cheerily and hefted #1 up with him.

#1 was able to pick himself up with Rin's help. He looked up,"The hospital should be about 2 blocks away from here. It's kind of a long walk. Allen, you can come with us if you want, or you can head back to the hotel, whatever you want to do is fine with me. But I think it's best you stay with us until we contact your mom to pick you up or something." His head lazily softened against Rin's shoulder, though he was in pain so he didn't know what he was exactly doing.

The rush of the men's attack went by in a blur. He nodded dumbly as #1 spoke to him. "Right... I... sure..." He smiled faintly. He didn't particularly feel like being alone right now and it was reasuring to know that he wasn't the only one feeling that way.

Rin led the scraggly troupe of three the two blocks to the hospital, under #1's directions. It took quite awhile, as Rin refused to walk fast enough to jolt #1's shoulder and Allen had to carefully walk beside them so as not to advertise the fact that they had a wounded man on their hands. Occasionally, Rin would throw out comments such as "Are you really sure, no flying?" and "Can't you just wish...?"
