"Come on honey, sit in Mommy's lap" a soothing voice called, a child's laughter, as a pink haired girl of eight ran and crawled into her lap, "I love you mommy!"....
Lily shook her head, riding the on coming tears, "My apologizes Kalen-sama, thankyou but I must not slack off on my duties." Lily bowed and walked brsikly from the room, and huddled next to the fridgerator, hidden. She wiped the dampness from her eyes. It had been two years, and her heart ached so for her mother, who had disappeared...she had hoped when Yoshitaka had returned she could ask about her mother....but it seemed her would not come after all.

Ichi stayed there in the dining table, on his seat feeling sad, "Father didn't come..." he kept repeating. When he realized that he had to change out of his uniform he dragged his feet upstairs. He didn't know were Shiro was and he didn't care because in the back of his mind he just wanted to go to his room and cry. He was going to tell Amano that he made it into the school newspaper as editor. He should have been used to this because Amano had missed a lot of things of Ichi's. He missed his news about him getting into soccer among other things. Ichi should have been used to it, but he still wanted the apporval and admerition of his adoptive father.

Shiro curled quietly in a study on a couch. He was happy, surrounded by so many books. He had made everyone upset at the dinner table and didn't understand why. He thought that love was a happy thing. Michael had yelled at him for even suggesting it though. He frowned. Everyone seemed to want to know about his family. He didn't want to go home. Kuro would be angry with him for running away. He didn't know that he was running away until he was already gone for a long time but he supposed that was what it was. It hadn't been easy. He'd been hungry for a long time but nice people had fed him now and then.
But for now he was tired. He closed his eyes and let the haze of sleep take him over.

Michael had passed by the study and saw the kid sleeping...shiro. He shrugged and walked in quietly and placed a blanket on his sleeping form. He looked at him a bit...and then looked around the room. He left before anything could resurface....the beginings of harrowing memories returning.
He stopped by Ichinosai's room, and knocked softly. "Ichinosai...can I...come in?"

"If you must..." he was still moping over the nonappearance of his step father. With the pillow covering him he didn't know who came in so he assumed it was someone friendly. He turned to his side so he could hear better to the wandering visitor in his room. He delved into the person's mind and found that it was Michael so he added, " If you must punish me for that thing at the dinner table then just burn my finger... I'm not in the mood."

He turned to his side so he could hear better to the wandering visitor in his room. He delved into the person's mind and found that it was Michael so he added, " If you must punish me for that thing at the dinner table then just burn my finger... I'm not in the mood." Michael refrained from the comments and ent over to Ichinosai. He laid down next to the other on the bend, his head propped up on his hand as he laid on his side. "I know it bothers you a lot that he's late, but he will be here, and you know its for a good reason. He cares alot about you and the rest of the family. Try not to be so down..." Michael said softly. He lifted the pillow up, his face loomed over Ichinosai's, his sharp gold eyes stared into the others. "I know your disappointed, everyone is, but your one of the older children, so try not to show that disappointment, and be a strength to the younger ones. " He continued in his softened tone.

Ichi was taken a back by the tone of Michael, "This sounds good and all but are you trying to lull me into a false sense of security?" he knew what Michael was saying is true but he never got this reaction out of him.

ichinosai Ichi was taken a back by the tone of Michael, "This sounds good and all but are you trying to lull me into a false sense of security?" he knew what Michael was saying is true but he never got this reaction out of him. "No, I'm a b*****d and always will be, make no mistake. However, I do have the occasional tendency to have a heart." Michael said and smirked his forehead pressed lightly against the other, his face hovering above Ichinosai's. His warm breathe tickling the others skin. "Does that really sound like a false sense of security to you?"

Ichi looked away blushing at the rush of warm are against his cheek, "Unless your trying to have smoked Ichi I don't think so," he some how felt alittle comfortable around Michael if only for this brief second.

Lily wiped the tears from her eyes, she was to old for crying. She stood up and went to the sink to wash her face. After a few minutes she was calm again, and there were no signs of previous crying. She took a deep breath and went into the dining room....dinner over. She began picking up the plates two at a time into the kitchen. Then she came back for the dishes (like the stuff that holds the tomatoes and chicken....big stuff). She struggled trying to pull the left over chicken and dish over to her....she was house help, but only eleven....even a bright girl such as herself had limits.

Shiro had fallen asleep with a book about sailing on his face and was having a wonderful dream about being out on the see. Seagulls cackling. The wind in his hair. The endless rolling waves. He sighed happily in his sleep.
((Ichi you look soooo cute in that outfit. whee heart Sorry I just had to say it.))
