I went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Friday
I have always like the first version. I still do. But I like this one better.
This version you get a look inside Mr Wonka.
And there is just more to the story with this one.
The Oompa Loompa are far more talented this time around too.

We thought about going to the movie theater during our vacation, but we never got a chance! We were going to see War of the Worlds or Fantastic 4, but I think we should eventually see Charlie and Choc. Factory too!
I saw outside our theater on the way back into town that there's a movie showing called The Island, I think. Anybody know what this is about or who's in it?

It's got Ewan Mcgragor and Scarlett Johansenn & it's a sci fi movie (from what I can gather) about a group of people who live ina place and some of them win a chance to leave the busy metropolis and live on "the island" a paradise...but then things happen and it turns out that's not where they go at all. Another movie coming out i really wanna see is "the Skeleton Key" with Kate Hudson. They were filming it in New Orleans last year while we were there. Looks really really good and scary. muahahahaha

Devan and I went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory yesterday. I thought it was a cute movie and Devan loved it. I kinda like the older one better, but I think that's where I grew up with that one and it's more familiar to me.
I'd like to see Skeleton Key, and there's a movie called 'The Cave that looks pretty good.

magikjaz said: Quote: I am kinda torn on the whole thing tho. The remaking of old TV shows into movies or the older movies into updated versions even. I feel Hollywood has run out of ideas. That sums me up pretty well, even though I took a small part of what jaz said and it may appear out of context, at my age, I have had a chance to see just about everything the first time around. I was watching a recap the other day on VH1 where they made fun of remakes and Hollywood running out of ideas, and I think they counted something like 7 remakes, or "based on" (such as Bewitched, Honeymooners or Dukes of Hazzard) are currently in the theaters... which pretty mush assures me I will be sitting alot of movies out this year, thank goodness I have a perfectly healthy coppy of "Napoleon Dynamite" in the cupboard under the big screen TV! heart Seriously, anyone who wants something crazy funny with no sex, no profanity profanity and totally kid and family friendly, try renting "Napoleon Dynamite"

MysticfawN Uh oh, what new hat? *scared* Actually it is quite a lovely Black Top Hat I saw and admired in another guild wink and since I am terminally pathetic, one of my kind purkle friends sent one over to me, but I cannot get Gaia to let me wear it... cannot get to the place for houses, either! And adept Gaia users wonder why I get exasperated? Maybe because this happens everytime I visit Gaia redface

he's some voodoo character from a Roger moore Bond film, one with Jane Seymour in, i'm sure he wore a top hat too though.
right, i've just been looking and it's the man with the golden gun apparently. all the images i see show christopher Lee in a white suit, so i'm not sure where i've got the top hat thing from, some addled recess of my brain no doubt confused

We went to see Charlie and The Chocolate Factory today, and I liked it more than I thought I would! I was a little afraid because Johnny Depp looked so goofy, but he did a marvelous job, once again, and made a brilliant and funny character! And I like the changes they made to the movie. smile
Lizzy, just so you know, I wasn't LMAO at your chickie mask or striped clothes, because I actually really liked that look! It was cute, and colorful! My kind of things! I was laughing at the idea of Jelly letting you go just to pee.. wink
