"Mmmm... that would be nice. I have not ridden since before I was awakened by my Kithain, and I fear I may need someone to help me remember how to ride properly. I also owe Muris a visit, and perchance she too can join us. I look forward to seeing you again."

"Ah yes, Muris," she nodded, "I shall look forward to that day, and as to you," she smiled and backed to the door, "goodbye Aesculus," she glanced at him for the last time before heading down the corriders.

Filix knocked on the door, and stood there for a few seconds. Then, before she had to actully see him, she placed the package down at the doorstep and hurried away again for the stairs.
Inside, was
And a note sat in the string holding the package together.Quote: Dear Aesculus
I heard that you have undergone the last change we all have to make. I hope it wasn't too bad for you, but even so... by now, you should be used to the new body. Maybe we can meet up to talk sometime? Neith bought this for me, so that I could give it to you as a 'growing' gift. -Countess Filix.

A small package is left outside your chamber door wrapped in festive cloth. Inside is a small card and a toy. The card reads: Happy Yule, Aesculus!
Love Always,
Cervus

November 3, 2004 Role-playing log from Page 6 to 7 from The LibrarySynopsis: Aesculus finally grows into an adult. o__o While Cervus is quite excited to have a royal advisor now, Rosa is less than happy to find Aesculus so dashingly handsome. XD It might also be worth noting that Aesculus doesn't cry or scream, and shows up Cervus. sweatdrop

January14, 2005 Role-playing log from Page 2 to 7 from The Masquerade BallSynopsis: Aesculus attends the Masquerade ball as the Phantom of the Opera. Complete with a mask and a dashing long cloak, he runs into Filix just after arriving and spends his time talking to her. He is generally oblivious to her crush and the danger around them. This scene ends when Nox announces herself there and it is discovered Winny, Neith's daughter, has been kidnapped.

Febraury 13, 2005I don't know how long I've been asleep. I remember the Masquerade with frightening clarity, and was slightly worried over Filix. She seemed troubled and unwilling to fully discuss it; I've known for a while she and Equus have quitted their courtship, and wonder if perhaps this and restlessness weigh on her. It had been discovered the Moon Court had snuck into our festivities and people were panicked- the king called together a meeting to find a way to go retrieve a kidnapped girl... after this, there was a tremendous pain. I fell onto the floor in my quarters with my door barely shut behind me. I wasn't hurt, this I knew... it was my Kithain. I have never cried before then, but such was the agony of loss and the pain of her death to me physically and emotionally that I was lost. My parents' death is distant, so much they are barely a memory, and the transformations were prepared for and known; it was simply mind over matter. I knew Syrenrei was dead, and there was such a hollowness that went with the feeling my body seemed to writh in I could not contain my sadness. It is at least a day later, I gather. My sheer exhaustion of trying to be so controlled mentally, the feeling of losing my bond, the exertion I am always putting on myself- it was simply too much. I remember crawling from the floor to the bed very faintly, so I believe it be many a day I have dwelled in and out of fits of unrestful sleep... but suddenly now I feel her again. Syrenrei, as suddenly as she died, is somehow alive, but I know not how. When I regain my energies I shall see to visiting her and see to this matter.

It was waiting time, and Filix hadn't been able to sit still. Neith had brought her a huge thick book, and Filix tried to read it, but she just couldn't. She couldn't sit still long enough. She'd only gotten to the third page.
Standing, Filix snatched the thick book up and headed in the direction of Aesculus's chambers. She could do with some fey company, and there was the chance he'd like the book. Filix could ask for another, Neith claimed there were quite a few of the same at the stall she'd been to.
Holding tightly onto the book in one arm, Filix knocked with the other.

"Come in," he called, mustering his strength in his voice to sound not quite so pathetic. After all, he didn't want to worry the already very burdened court. If it was up to him, he'd keep this little secret about Syrenrei entirely to himself.
With that he propped himself in the bed so that he was sitting, and didn't seem to notice his tunic sliding off one shoulder. Why would he? He had just woken up enough to write in his journal and try to rationalize what day it was exactly.

Filix made her way in slowly, a bit worried by the lack of strength in his voice. She pushed the door shut with her free arm before turning around to face him.
Then froze and stared. Filix's eyes widened a bit, her face went a bit pinker as she took in the sight of less tunic, exposing more his skin. ...more of his muscles. For someone who usually saw no reason to wear beautiful gowns, makeup or tie hair in fancy ways, Filix was unusually attracted to how good Aesculus looked.
She snapped out of it after a few moments, looking down at the book while she made her way over to stand next ot his bed. Filix wasn't sure if it was good etiquette to sit next to him or not, at that moment. But she did sit, glancing up again at Aesculus's face. There was something else, something in his mood that made her worry seem to be there for a reason. "I brought you a gift, Aeslculus. Are you feeling all right?"

"I am fine, I am simply a bit tired is all." He smiled at her to try to reassure her. It wasn't really a falsity; he was fine, he believed, and he was still a bit tired in more than one fashion. After a moment he glanced down at the gift and shook his head.
"I do not understand, my dear countess. What is this a gift for?" Too confused at the moment to question her seating, he suddenly realized that maybe more days had passed than he realized. Oh dear. This might not turn out well... would he come off as rude?

Filix placed the book beside him, and tried to do a carefree shrug. It looked more like a spasm. She wasn't doing so well... "Well, I... it seemed like something you'd like. And you're very ...special to me... so I thought to give you it as a gift."
(The book's VERY thick, oldish style front and back. The little book is newer, with a mirror in the middle of a sun.)She glanced back up again, telling him, "I've not seen you since the Ball, and I was a little worried that something was wrong. ...and I needed company, I suppose. But if you're tired, I can leave."

Still he was a bit confused. Dropping by without rhyme and reason to give him a few gifts of books? Wasn't this a bit odd, even for good friends? Perhaps it was just an excuse just to check in on him- it seemed like something even the king would do should he worry so.
"I apologize. It seems I got lost within the days- I did not mean to worry anyone so." And what was this about being special? His mind was starting to churn and mull over her words and odd behavior, but it still wasn't clinking. He sat up some more.
"Filix, is something the matter you'd like to discuss with me?" His dark amber eyes looked to her with open honesty, slightly narrowed in concern. Maybe... she had lost a friend, or something else tragic?

"It's all right, I don't mind. I just had to see if you were all right." Filix wasn't sure if she'd die of embarrassment now, or die slowly, as if it was some sort of slow poison.
Filix twitched when he asked the last question, and she didn't answer. It was impossible to know what to say, really, but if she didn't say something, she'd end up staying how she was now.
But if she didn't say it, Aesculus wouldn't ever find out. Filix sighed, and stared away. "I think my feelings for you are... they've become stro... Aesculus, I've developed romantic feelings for you."
There. Now he'd kick her out, and Filix would be forced to spend the rest of the year locked in her room.
