Yeah xd the breedable forum is full of homo characters. The one breedable character I had (in a shop run by myself and my friend) was bisexual. But he mostly leaned towards being gay.
All my fanfiction writing used to be boyxboy too. So I guess I only like het characters in my own stories and private RPs. That's really weird to think about, thanks for bringing it up Emelyn!

j A d e d what is pan? omni sexuals..are there such things? mine are all heterosexual. i tried my attempt at a bisexual rp w/one of my characters..not good XD;; haha. Lol. Pansexual means "all" sexes, including transgender. Omnisexual is a joke, meaning he'll ******** pretty much anything. LittleDream xD xD...sadly, most of my characters are gay xp...this is what you get for spending most of your time with yaoi fangirls xD xD....but still, it's kinda funneh xD xD....the few girls I have are straight, although Mara, the demoness, doesn't really care about gender...some of the guys also managed to stay straight, and a few are bi...but still, due to rp-ing, most of them are gay xp. so shoot me xD xD Lol! I actually really try hard not to make a gazillion gay characters even though I like yaoi... cuz... you can't have a world where everyone's gay, lol. We'd all die out.

Hot, lists. 'netra likes lists.
Getting on the wagon bit late on this one, I fear, but that's just what I get for sleeping all day and having guilds surf controlled at work. Only including my NWN and DnD characters on this, none of the lovable characters that belong to my friends that I also commission art of, or.. other characters.
NWN Lilith Aelorothi .................. Black ............................. heterosexual, occasional bi tendencies Kalahmae ......................... Orange (natural red) .... asexual Shakaasha ....................... Red .............................. heterosexual Llael ................................. Red .............................. "omnisexual" =p "Mama" Ulga Corallion ..... grayed .......................... homosexual (and married)
Pen and Paper Llarasia Callsworth .......... blonde ....................... heterosexual Talaval "Crow" Khalid ...... red ............................. homosexual Beatrix ............................ black ........................... heterosexual Cassandra Davis ............. blonde ........................ heterosexual

Emelyn See, I'm already surprised- because I hadn't expected there to be many straight characters at all, and already a few people have posted to say that their 'cast of characters' has its fair share of breeders. XD I suppose the tilt of Gaian charas just made me assume that would be the case with most of the OC's here, as well. Because I help my sister run her breedable sometimes- and I SWEAR- of 40+characters that came from it... about half of which are men, and only THREE of those men are heterosexual. xd And one of them doesn't count because he's mine. Ahh, I'm a yaoi fangirl but...I try to give characters some meaning in every aspect of their life. The characters I have that are bisexual are because it is important to their story, but similary if they are straight it's because having a guy/girl is the most useful aspect - and hence why one of my characters is undecided at the moment, because it hasn't come up in my writing yet. 3nodding Wowza, I hope that made sense...^^;

Hmm, I have a question for you guys - I'm getting a little bored of my main OCs at the moment, but I tend to come up with my characters through firstly their debut as a bit part and then me developing them in another fic. Problem is I would like a whole new genre to work with and it's been a long time since I tried to pull an OC right out of the blue. I'm thinking I'd like to do fantasy...making it more of a challenge as it's a pretty...worn out genre. ^^;
What I would like to know is, firstly, how do you come up with your OCs? Do you draw some random person and assign them a name and, gradually, a history, or do you come up with the history first, then try and give them a look?
Secondly, I would be interested to know what, if relation to fantasy, what sort of thing you consider original or clique? I mean, I have my own ideas about that as well, but I...feel like I need some inspiration for this. ^^

The Iron Kingdoms setting-- all the inspiration you'll need wink . Serioulsy though, most of my characters tend to be DnD characters, so I typically start with a pre-established setting, and flip through the races, cities, etc for that setting until read something that makes me go "HOT DAMN! That's awesome." Iron Kingdoms is so easy for me to make characters for, because everything gives me ideas, but most of my characters are Forgotten Realms, Planescape, or a hybrid thereof. IK; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_KingdomsI fear the wiki won't have much information, compared to how awesome the IKCS is, which... IMHO is so worth picking up, even if you won't be using it for DnD. Hahah. But that's me.

Interesting. xd Actually...I may be able to pick that up from a friend, I know a couple of 'em play D&D extensivly...I often borrow their books when I'm playing (though it's rare nowadays, sadly). That is a really good idea - and fun too! ^^
Haha, actually, that reminds me of one I might want to try...it was a char. I never got to play, a human warrior who was generally a coward...until she saw the colour red, then she went on a mad insane rampage. xd Might be fun to develop her outside D&D since I don't know when I'll get the chance to play again.

hrrmm..for my fantasy characters, the main characters were developed first and then the story, and then all the secondary and tertiary characters and settings from that. after awhile they become so connected that it gets kind of hard to distinguish what comes first.
as for sources of inspiration, i drew my inpsiration from video games(especially rpg's) and comics.

A lot of my characters come from word association or a random spark of GENIUSU when I hear, see, or read something.
I was reading a story about the Bird of the Evil Eye and voila, I visualized Alcarin. And then I created the world she lives in and the basic outline of her life thus far.
So I guess that means I create a character first and then their story afterwards. When I was in Junior High, I created the situation first and created characters/settings around that situation.

^_~ Good question! One that makes me think, for one. o.o
Hm... well, some characters come from a desire to explore a certain aspect of my own personality, especially to give myself to imagine/rp what I would do in a fantasy situation (such as my Island of Doctor Moreau Emelyn character.) Most of my other OC's come out of the idea first- usually for the setting or for an emotion, and then secondary characters are added due to necessity/storyline.
Very rarely, I have a name I adore and need to make a character for. xd Like Pepper Traitor.

Emeyln: I find that very interesting - exploring yourself. I think all writers do that, whether they know it or not, since a character has no ground to come from except ourselves. [/literary theory]
It is curious to see how people get their characters - I have come up with a mage called Siinn who likes to explore and daydream. Unfortunatly that is all I know about her so far. xd I think the next stage is to get her drawn and see how it works from there. ^^
I love this guild - you guys are full of awesomeness. heart

Anetra_Pendragon Audley It sounds like you had a lot of freedom with Neverwinter Nights - are you still playing that? <- I feel you may have mentioned it in the past-tense before, but I can't recall. No, I'm not. The guy who was playing J quit, and I couldn't really get back into the game without J to torture =/ Ahhahah, that was so whiny of me. I remember doing that. I was reading the most recent "Hey what colour are your characters hairs" thing in this thread and suddenly thought, "Hey, wasn't this thing more personal before?" After a quick survey of the first few pages, whell... Hahah. I started playing NWN again in around July, I'd booked a week off work for something that never ended up happening and then just found myself with some free time and nothing to fill it with. So, back to NWN I went. From where I started playing with a few new characters-- Neikos had been created as a character, I believe, the day J's player quit. It was at least that same week, I know. He'd played a different character I'd known him as before then, Evalia Frellyn, and also DMed briefly as well. Neikos was quite a bit like Lilith, so while the two were easily "attracted" to spending time with one another, they quickly became somewhat intolerent and violent toward the other. Nautilus, as well, Lilith started hanging around that tme. Naut was Neikos' "best friend", despite that Naut was Neutral Good, and Neikos and Lilith were Chaotic Evil. The three got along admirabley well, until Naut and Lilith hooked up on a sexual basis, shortly following which Lilith raped Neikos and uh. It just kind of got awful from there. Naut came to see just how, in out-of-character terms, "chaotic evil" Lilith and Neikos were. I'll also take this opportunity to pimp the " Lilith Journal", as I call it. Livejournal oranizes it newest-to-oldest, but it's best read oldest-to-newest (in order of when it was written). First entry.
