Amia was thinking of where to go next, when she heard someone shouting somewhere. She looked over in the direction it was coming from, seeing someone having fallen. It seemed some people were laughing, she felt bad for the person. What caught her attention was the person claiming that they were tripped by something furry. She knew they were telling the truth, with having seen the flashes of fur herself. What was going on here?!

While Amia was thinking, her stomach grumbled, making her realize she was hungry. So she went to see what she could have to eat, there were so many wonderful smells around. She finally decided on a dipped banana, that looked delicious. She paid for one with a strawberry dip, thanking the person selling them. Then turning away from the person and making sure no one was watching, took a bite.

Amia soon had the dipped banana finished, but found herself still hungry. So she decided to look around for something else she might enjoy. Her eyes fell on some cotton candy which seemed like a sugary cloud in a cone. She walked over, choosing a pink and blue one, that seemed the most enticing to her. She paid for it with a thanks, before turning away. That is when she began to eat some of it carefully as well.
Kokonoi wasn't sure what to think when he listened in on the priests converse. It sure felt like there was a lot of animosity in general on this island. The priests as well as the visitors. He wondered if that was normal.
Getsumei saw the nod from Amia and felt a little relieved that his eyes weren't playing tricks on him. They would all have to discuss this later. In the meantime Getsumei's tummy rumbled. He smelled something good. And wandered off to one of the snack stalls to get some dango. Surely it would be alright if he nabbed a quick snack. But as he was doing so he got a weird feeling. The sensation was odd and he looked around.

As Amia and Kokonoi continued their searching they both heard the following message yelled out from the dock area, "One hour left until last ferry! One hour left!! Ferry will be leaving on the hour promptly, all passengers not on the ferry will be left behind!" They could also see the various stalls starting to wind down and not have so much food available. More and more priests and priestesses were moving about getting ready for the shrine closing.

Getsumei's weird feeling was caused by a dark skinned priestess with jet black hair and dark eyes which was in stark contrast with her traditional miko outfit. She seemed to be searching for something but when her eyes landed on Getsumei's illusion her eyes narrowed for a moment. She then glared at him and began to stalk towards him. Better get away from this spot before she reaches you.

((Alright folks. Last 24 hours to get rolls in for daytime searching! I'll be moving the meta forward tomorrow around this time.))
Kokonoi overheard the call for the ferry, but he mostly ignored it. He just hoped that the time growing late wouldn't make his investigation more difficult.

Amia continued to work on her cotton candy, hearing the call that was shouted into the air. Ah, seemed it was time for the actual tourists to leave on the ferry now. She saw the priests and priestesses working on getting things cleaned up and ready to close the shrine. She knew her and the others would soon be all alone, to hopefully continue their investigation. She hoped they wouldn't run into any problems.
Getsumei spotted the priestess! It was almost as if she could see through his illusion. That was odd! He immediately stepped back to blend into the crowd before hurrying off in the other direction. As he quickly walked, he also overheard a conversation. He listened carefully.
Mezcla didn't realize what what making him feel off at first. His stomach never felt sick like this out of the blue. His eyes narrowed and he whipped his head around until he locked eyes with the priestess. This made him feel nervous, then when she started heading his way he panicked and bolted away. He didn't really pay attention to where he was going just focused on losing the scary priestess before she caught him.
Ivy had remained quiet and to herself for the beginning of the journey. Life had become something else entirely for her after the arrival of her masks, but that was to be expected from a new parent. She had always wanted to be a mother someday, but the reality of finally having them hadn't quite sunk in until moments before the adventure, leaving her reeling between breaths of excitement and wonder for the tasks at hand.
But, for now, Ivy had to focus -- the mask she was directly raising was being cared for by a village nanny and likely content and still very much a mask, which left her free to tend to... whatever this was. She had wanted to help, and help she would, even if the stakes were higher than she had anticipated. She had slipped into her human illusion for the search, flitting between makitsu and human when deemed convenient. She was careful, of course -- she had children to care for when she returned, after all! It wouldn't do if they lost a mother before they even saw the world themselves, would it? She just hoped that, should anything happen to her, the other two parents would step in. While the three of them were not romantically involved, they had promised to care for the children as a unit. Hopefully-- and most likely --it wouldn't come to the masks relying solely on Dread and Dianthe. She'd make sure of it.
As she turned the corner she heard humans chattering. Making the best use of her disguise but still obscuring herself, she pressed her back flat against a tree and leaned to hear their whispers.

Galatea's weird feeling was that dark haired priestess spotting her again. The priestess had a furious look on her face and was quickly making her way towards you. However she ended up catching sight of something or someone else and ended up heading in a different direction, letting you off the hook.

Kokonoi's ignoring of the ferry's impending departure time allowed him to instead hear a quiet rustling followed by a shriek. Turning in time he sees a flash of fur disappear and a little girl crying with a spilled taiyaki on the ground. Apparently something startled her making her drop her food.

It was Amia's turn to be noticed by the dark haired priestess. She shot a deathly glare at Amia but with the hour growing late, she couldn't do anything else. You see her huff in frustration before heading towards the main shrine building.

Getsumei and Ivy ended up near the same departing group of tourists and overheard them talking about a missing priestess.
"I still can't believe a priestess disappeared and it's just business as usual here. I mean don't they care that a co-worker just vanished?!" One lady was saying, "I hear she was a really nice lady too.... such a shame."
"Oh she was the best! I really hope that they missed her on the last ferry before she disappeared and she just went on a vacation or maybe got called to the shrine in Cenower. I really miss the charms she made and gave out." A different lady replied.

As the group of Makitsu continued their individual investigations the afternoon began to draw to a close. The sky began to grow darker and finally a call for the last ferry was made. The remaining tourists and shrine caretakers made their way towards the ferry. The last person seen walking the grounds, as our group of Makitsu found various hiding spots to not be seen staying, was the dark haired priestess that several had nearly encountered throughout the day. At first it seemed like she was taking stock of things and searching for something. It didn't seem like she was going to be leaving anytime soon. However when the ferry blew it's whistle to signal the departure happening soon she sighed and picked up a bag that had been stashed behind a stall. She quickly headed towards the ferry so as to not be left behind.
A final whistle from the ferry followed by a ringing of the shrine bell signaled the end of the day and now the shrine was fully empty save for the hidden Makitsu. Now they had the run of the place and could fully search it, going into places spotted during the day that were previously inaccessible.
As the day drew ever closer to night the shrine seemed to grow darker faster than when on the mainland. This was mostly due to the heavy fog rolling in. If one looked out at the docks they would see the fog on the water slowly drawing ever closer to the dock until it became too obscured to see. If one was near the torii they would see the thick fog, darker in color, pushing through the forest and drawing up close to the boundary. It never crossed the boundary line of the shrine and as it grew darker in those areas, carved charms and other protective talismans began to faintly glow.
((Now for the out of character stuff. Night is falling and you have mostly fully access to the shrine. Some buildings may be locked and inaccessible and one in particular may be open for exploring if you can find a way in. Any special trinkets that weren't found during the day may be found during the night. I also forgot to mention it before but you may only find one special trinket so if you found one during the day you won't be able to find one at night, instead you'll get a different response depending on what you roll if you roll one. These rules and results will be posted on page 1 in place of the daytime results. The rolling will run for a week to give time for basic searching and for a chance to move back and forth from outside and inside the shrine building. At the end of the week one of the inside shrine building rolls will become a trigger event that will need to be rolled to move the meta forward (if for whatever reason it seems to be taking a couple of days to hit that number the chances will increase as it will gain new numbers to roll).
Nighttime Search Rules and Results
You may roll once per hour so you can roll multiple times per day. You are rolling 1d100 die. Please do not use the random number generator but the dice one. If you roll the option that you found the entrance into the shrine building then you can roll 1d20 die to see what you find inside. For the first week there will be a couple of options to move back outside of the building if you want, or you voluntarily move back outside to search there. You still need to do some sort of rp reply, doesn't have to be very long, a couple of sentences, but don't just roll and make no reply. If you land on a a couple of special rolls please quote Blue to get a response as this is a special event or special trinket win. They will be bolded to make them noticeable. Special trinket win numbers are listed and require you to quote Blue to make sure she sees that you won a special trinket so she can figure out which one you found. As a note there are currently a limited amount of special trinket wins but more may be added to the prize pool. Only one per person Nighttime searching will last a week for basic searching before the trigger event gets added as a result option. If you win an Ofuda please keep track of it in your rp posts going forward (you may have multiple) as they may come in handy.

Kokonoi furrowed his brow. He could have sworn he saw fur again. What was going on here? He felt bad for the little girl, but there wasn't anything he could do. Better not to get involved.
He hung around the shrine for as long as he could, but found nothing else of interest. He was beyond relieved to see the priestess that had been intimidating him all day leave. With all the humans gone, it felt like he could finally relax. It also meant he could now poke around all the places that were blocked off during the daytime. Which was exactly what he did.
The main building seemed like a good place to start. The room Kokonoi entered first seemed to be a sort of office. Dusty and mostly unused it seemed. Nothing interesting.
Mezcla was antsy while he hid, he didn't like waiting even if he had to admit it was nice to have a short rest after all the scurrying about he did since swimming to the island. His tails were twitching until she saw the priestess from before when he froze from nose to tail tip, even holding his breath to avoid drawing her attention again. He sighed in relief when she left after the ferry whistle blew again, then stood up and gave himself a good shake and bound from his hiding spot eager to start exploring again without all the humans around to tip toe around.
