How did a cat get to end up playing the festive equvilent of a ring toss game? Simple. Meow. Meow and meow and meow until the person behind the counter finally took notice of you and decided oh hey a cute little kitty here kitty did you want so pets? Enyo did the usual song and dance. Purr and twirl about some legs, be exceptionally cute and purr louder when she jumped up on the counter to appear like a common cat that wasn’t feral but also did not appear to be anyone’s house pet. Purring like the little engine that would she waited, biding her time before someone set the ring down- only for her to bat it off, sending it flying towards the snowmen. Granted she missed on her first toss but she could try again.
Tail flicking back and forth, she waited for another ring before doing the same action as she’d done before. Two more times, (which took a while but she was a patient type of mauvian), she managed to get the dang booth worker to find it cute and amusing enough to give her her own pile of rings. It was time for Enyo to shine. Or so she told herself at any rate.

Her first attempt was met with only one ring making it to the snowman, hooped around their white head. Meowing loudly at her victory, (and mildly burning loss given how several rings ended up on the floor and others missed the mark entirely), she bat at the air and meowed until she was given a new pile, the booth manager finding it comically endearing. Ha! Let them find it endearing when she won!

She let out a long sad meow as she missed every single ring from the last batch. Rolling onto her side, she did her best to look pathetic, like she was dying, (or hadn’t been fed in days- she was a good actress). The dramatics got her another pile and an encouraging pet from the booth proprietor. If only she had hands- then she’d surely win without any effort. Not to mention she’d not have to go to such lengths just to play a game. Humans needed to get with the times. Sometimes, cats could talk. It just be like that now a days.

One? One! She got one! Out of… five. God, if any agent saw her now she’d surely die of shame. Actually, no, she’d grab them by the neck and make them play this infernal game and win her an item. Losing was not an option. Not for her. Fluffing up with determination, Enyo tossed more rings. Trying her best- despite the whole lacking hands and thumbs deal. She would work with what she had even if that was severely lacking in tactical advantage.

She flopped over to her side in the end. She’d failed. All those tosses and not even a measly five. Not even close to winning- she was ashamed. And just sort of sad, the prize she wanted, out of her reach.
