((Please remember to keep track of your HP loss.))
This battle was going so poorly that the voice was about to say something it never thought it would in it's afterlife. Though the prompting of a higher up didn't hurt in the factoring. "Kid, I'm going to give you the chance to forfeit and heal up. Or you can try to keep going. If you choose yes, or lose like you're going to, you'll still have one more chance to get into the Viridian Division proper" The Voice stated. .
Both Kerian and his Rowlet felt a shiver shoot up their spines at the voice in the darkness. Something about it seemed wrong to them, both looked around, trying to pinpoint the source of it. “H-Hello?” He said in response. “Nice to meet you?” He tugged at his scarf, clearly uncomfortable at the two things coming out of the darkness. Espurrs were not his favourite Pokémon, far from it. There was something about those eyes that set most normal humans and Pokémon on edge. Rowlet looked more concerned about the silver liquid than the horror eyed cat in front of her.
He nodded towards the vague source of the voice, walking forward, and picking up the bottle. “Open up Ismene.” His Rowlet shook her head, pinching her beak closed. “Come on, we need to do this so I can join the academy.” Ismene narrowed her eyes at him, shaking her head back and forth. “I’m the trainer here, you will listen to me.” He said, his voice turning a little icy in tone. He opened the bottle with one hand, prying open her beak with the other and pouring the silver liquid down her throat before putting her on the ground. She turned her head to glare at him, feathers puffing up in annoyance.

((Fair enough, I feel a little better knowing I’m not the only one XD;;
Aida's fangs would clamp on the pokemon ....as the flames in her teeth would race up the pokemon's body in a vortex that completely cover the pokemon for a moment as she drops back down on the ground.
A smirk was on her face.
That was better much better, and she turns to see her trainer smiling at her.
"That's my girl."
The Snubbull would take off running towards her as the girl would reach down and grab a hold of her and twirl her once in a swift circle. Tossing her up once, she would sit down as she starts to examine her pokemon to see how severe the injury was.
"That was perfect, Aida, next time don't play with your enemies ..it's bad form."
The Snubbull would smile brightly as the girl would look upwards into the nothingness.
"Just who am I, my name is Tiye Magena...Lady Tiya Magena."
"I am going to be the one who uses this organization for her own ends."
She declares as she stood up and waited for the voice to make it's own declaration, because, this battle was definitely over.
Daydream laughed, a loud, whole-hearted noise, even as his Pokemon burned a fell to the ground, leaving nothing but ash. "Silly little buddy!" he squeaked, as the dust that had once been a Pokemon faded. "Everyone uses the Organization. And the Organization uses everyone. You'll be as much a pawn as you are a queen." That cryptic bit of rambles gone, he continued. "Congratulations! You're not a fully-fledged member of Akumu Academy! Now, you'll want to go to the Auditorium and get a rundown on what you need to do! Have fun, little lady, and good luck~"
((Will do. My bad, I've just been copy/pasting the stats bit because it's saved to my phone's clipboard and makes posting a lot faster.))
The Gastly's trainer swallowed his rage for long enough to see clearly, and realized almost immediately- the battle was lost. Mephisto was on his last metaphorical legs, and the Bellsprout barely had a scratch. He made an odd noise then, halfway between a grunt, sigh, and pained wheeze. "Gotta be friggin kidding me," he muttered, waving at the ghost. "Alright, ya worthless git. Come on. We're outta here... But we'll be back, and if you don't do better next time, so help me..."
The Gastly swiftly followed suit as the young boy swiveled on his heels and strolled out the door. In reality he was a ticking bomb of barely concealed seething rage, but he was out so quickly it was hard to tell. The ghost Pokemon followed and they left to go heal up. They'd return soon, and hopefully next time luck would favor them... Or at the very least, not actively antagonize them.

"Hehe, seems you're still finding your footing, hmm?" Daydream's question was more playful than insulting. He'd witnessed a lot of trainers; these two weren't totally unusual. "That's okay! Now we can go ahead with the battle, eh?" He gave a cheery giggle, then a whistle. "Fight start! Squiggles, Scratch!"
The Espurr's stare hadn't broken throughout the entire exchange. Without a sound, she threw herself claws-first at the Rowlet... heedless of whether or not she was still on Keiran.[./size]
((Now, you're going to be rolling for your defense in your next post. Keep in mind that defense involves dodges, blocking, trying to distract the Pokemon, etc... NOT attacking. You can attack during dodge turns, but that's something we'll cover latter, and I'd like to explain it before you get there, so please don't.
Damage calculation is pretty straight-forward. The formula goes thusly.
Say I roll a 16 for attack, and you roll a 15 for defense. That would make the damage calculation this
(16-15) + (6-6) = 1 DMG!
Now, things would be a little different if the rolls were reversed, however! See, as a trainer, you're in possession of something called an Aim Modifier, which allows your Pokemon to focus a little harder than others! Your Aim Modifier is 5-- remember that, because it'll help. Aim Modifier is added to your accuracy. Now, let's say you had rolled 16 for attack, and I'd rolled 15 for defense...
((16+5) - 15) +(7-7) = 6 DMG!
Makes sense so far? ))

((WHOOPS. This is a good time to point out-- if you, like I have, forgotten to roll in your attack, don't worry! Just quote yourself and roll in the next post. Don't delete any posts in battle or other rolled situations; given our system, it can be construed as cheating.))

He tugged at his scarf in embarrassment at Daydream’s comment. Kerian was glad he had put down the owl before the Espurr attacked. He didn’t want to feel the brunt force of a Pokémon attack. He had made a quick hand motion to his Rowlet to let her know her attention should be directed the other way. Ismene squawked in surprise making a move to flutter backwards in an attempt to get away from the small but sharp claws of Espurr. He hoped the delay of her noticing the attack wouldn’t wind up with her taking a hit so soon.

(10-3)+(6-6) = 7 DMG! Ismeme is at 8 HP! The Espurr's attack landed good and hard, little claws doing a surprising amount of damage. "Yay Squiggles!" he cheered brightly. "Buuuut that's just first blood! Let's see if your lil birb can strike back~"
Squiggles didn't even wait for her trainer's orders. Without breaking eye contact, she backed into the shadows, weaving back and forth. Would Ismeme be able to strike a moving target?
((Don't worry if you don't remember everything; I know I'm throwing a lot of info at you, so if you need clarification, ask whoever's modding you!
Now it's your turn to attack! See if you can land a hit.
On the topic of taking damage-- see, doing damage in this guild doesn't stop at 0. If a Pokemon takes damage, and it goes below -7, the Pokemon will die. Fortunately, the potion your Pokemon imbibed will rescue your starter from death... but only once, and it won't last forever, so be careful. There are some events and items that can revive the dead, but they're very rare, so don't count on them. On the other hand, ghost-type Pokemon (like, say, Decidueye) are not at risk of dying; can't kill what's already kind of dead, after all!))

Ismene rolled back a little at the contact, and it took her a moment to get to her feet. She puffed up her feathers, glaring at the cat Pokémon. Keiran flinched at the amount of damage he just witnessed her take, worried that if she kept getting damaged like this in the long run, he wouldn’t be a trainer for very long. His confidence was shaken, but he tried to collect his thoughts as to what attack to use against Espurr. “Ismene! Use Leafage!” He has debated initially on using confuse ray, but he didn’t want to risk her not hitting the Espurr and fainting next turn. She turned to him, nodding in understanding before glaring at the wide eyed Espurr, sending out a barrage of leaves towards her.

"Oh noes!" Daydream gasped, all fake melodrama. "I thought Rowlet were supposed to be good in the dark~" he teased gently. The Espurr had completely avoided the attack, and remained bouncing on her toes, not haven't blinked once the entire fight. "Such a shame, such a shame... hmm, Squiggles, why don't you prep yourself? Magic Coat."
Squiggles was an odd thing. Finally looking away from Keiran and Ismeme, she began to lick herself , starting with her paws and moving out. Seemed she was going to "coat" herself quite literally... but from the way her fur shimmered, there was definitely SOME magic at work here.
((That's how fighting goes sometimes! Don't worry, I've seen worse fights turned around.
Though I bet you probably wish you had a healing item right now? When you get some, you'll need to wait until your attack turn to use items like potions and berries. Using an item effectively "takes the place of" your attack turn, so you couldn't use Leafage AND give your Rowlet a Potion at the same time.
Held items like berries and in-game items must be given to the Pokemon before battle starts. So you could, say, use an Oran Berry on Ismeme, but you couldn't give it to her mid-battle to hold. Same thing as the games.))

"Bunny, I am not a silly bunny or anything else, besides, I would expect nothing less ...afterall, there is only one king in the game of chess ...and no pawn can turn into that. Then again, anyone can topple a King to win the game."
"Let's go, Aida."
She would declare as she turns on her heels to leave. Though, she would stop long enough to pull out tablet. She needed to see what was next expected of her, and she snorted ...it would seem that it was best if she went to register first and then headed to the Pokelot registration place.
The girl now had her directions, and prepared herself to head there.
Ismene was bouncing up and down in anger at the current battle results. Not only did she get a bossy trainer, she couldn’t currently hit her target. Kerian regretted not using Confuse Ray first turn, now that Espurr’s Magic Coat would just reflect the status right back. He would probably have to keep spamming Leafage until one of the Pokémon fainted. Ismene continued bouncing up and down as the cat pokemon licked itself.

((Fair enough, still glad she can’t die this battle with my luck XD;;;
So pretty standard to the games then, that makes sense. t))

Magic Coat is in effect! 1/3 turns up!
"Squiggles, you're a princess amid weirdos. The weirdest princess." Daydream's voice was oddly serious given the subject matter. "No matter!" he continued cheerfully. "It's Squiggles' time to put the 'hide' in 'hide and go seek', so that means it's your turn to attack, bird and child! Good luck!~"
Squiggles resumed her unyielding stare as she essentially ignored Daydream's orders, choosing instead to... bounce. Seemed like she was fond of the "can't hit what's moving" trick, but would it work again?
((Death is, unfortunately a part of life in this guild! Admittedly, one of the most common causes of a Pokemon's death is a counter attack.
Counter-attacking involves attacking during your defense turn. Pretty simple; just attack when you should be defending. A counter-attack can turn the battle around, but it can also be very dangerous. See, failing to land a counter attack results in a x2 penalty-- so if you would have taken 5 damage if you hadn't countered, you would take 10 damage if you did counter. Furthermore, countering consecutively results in a -2 HP penalty each time you do so. We've had people kill their starters multiple times doing this, so just be careful. That's the main reason I ask folks not to counter in the first battle (untill they get the hang of things).))
