I K i n u I x His nose gently touching the Obelisk itself. Nothing interesting happens - it's hot to the touch, but so is everything else here. It must be something else. sheepcakes Ochre trots over to it, and presses her nose against it. When Ochre's nose touches it, the same thing - that is, nothing much - happens.

Mist leaned back from the Obelisk and broke contact completely. He was so confused. What could it possibly want? He almost wanted to headbutt it but figured that was an incredibly stupid idea. Grimacing a little at the idea of hitting his head against a block of stone he contemplated what it could want.. and then he had an idea. Trotting over to Beauty he politely motioned for her to step down. Offering a warm smile to show he meant the best. Maybe all the right hand stones had to be free?

Ochre backs up, wondering what on earth could be needed. And then she looks at her dogs, scattered around. Acha love dogs so she'd assumed they would be important. But Acha also love song and dance. And parties, but she doubts a good ol' fashioned Acha party would do the trick. Instead she hums, as off key as she's always been, but loud and clear none the less.

Baby was such a good dog. She was never too far ahead of Mirage, and it gave him a warm feeling in his chest that she remembered him so well. Her barking at kin to clear the way for him made him slightly self-conscious, since he had been at the edges of the group for so long, but it was appreciated that he wasn’t having to weave around anyone.
Soon enough, he could hear Ochre’s voice, and it nearly stopped him dead in his tracks. Even having heard her voice over the last few days, it was almost terrifying to realize that soon it would be addressing him. He took a deep breath, but his steps were, much to Baby’s chagrin, slower.122

sheepcakes Instead she hums, as off key as she's always been, but loud and clear none the less. Nothing out of the ordinary seems to happen. It's been more than a few minutes since Ochre touched the stone that Kisses is standing on, though, and the rocks which have been glowing cease to glow. The Obelisk retains its glow, though at a slightly dimmed intensity. OOC At this time, the GMs are taking a break. You may continue to roleplay, and do things that do not require GM interaction, but please refrain from performing green actions until the GMs have posted that they are back. The GMs expect to be back in approximately eight hours. Also, as a point of clarification, the GMs will respond to any action that would have a significant effect on the state of the environment as long as it is roleplayed, whether or not it is written in green. This has happened a few times previously in this thread. However, the GMs will respond to green text even if it is completely insignificant, as long as it concerns something that the GMs control (if you put your kin greeting a different kin in green text, you'll probably be ignored). Don't worry too hard about coloring the "right" part of your post! current stones are plain - plain - plain - plain - plain - center (which is not glowing) - plain - plain - plain - plain - plain. the obelisk is also glowing. bear is on the third stone from the left. jester, breach, and half-truth are on the fourth. blue and bubbles are on the fifth. kisses is on the stone with the marking. beauty beyond compare is on the center stone of the right group. all other kin/dogs/wolves/burning bushes/other familiars are not on top of stones, but they may be touching some stones.

Baby, excited that her goal is nearly in reach, yaps at Mirage when he slows, butting her head against the Acha's feet, trying to get him to go faster. Ochre, recognizing that bark, stops humming, not that it's done any good anyway. That bark is coming from the opposite direction of where she left Baby. Curious as to why her dog has disobeyed her, Ochre scans the crowd, face lighting up with joy when she sees Mirage. With a whoop and holler Ochre races to her friend, slowing down so she doesn't plow into him, but nuzzles against him instead. "I've missed you! I looked everywhere for you, never stopped in fact. I'm sorry I wasn't fast enough to catch up, every time kin spoke of you they said I'd just missed you and they never were sure which way you went." Ochre let's out in a rush, voice full of emotion, Baby yapping at their feet. Well trained or not, Bubbles is not at all sure about this new Acha her momma is with, so the spectral hound steps down and threads her way through the crowd to join Ochre. As if waiting for a command, all the rest of Ochre's pack leave where they'd been told to stay and join Bubbles. The spectral hound curiously sniffs at Mirage and his dog, keeping enough of her training not to actually get in the way. The rest are content to sit and watch, if Ochre and Baby are okay with these strangers then so are they.

Baby’s yap actually scared Figment of Imagination, until he realized what it is. Soon she was butting against his feet and he half-laugh-half-groaned at her while picking up his pace a bit. “Alright, alright.” He couldn’t help his nerves, but Baby apparently wasn’t going to tolerate them.
But then he heard Ochre. Her calls of excitement also scared him, but a smile lingered on his lips, and relief started to kick in as he felt someone – surely it was Ochre – nuzzle against him. As her words flooded him, tears threatened to flood his eyes and overflow onto his cheeks. They never quite made it that far as Mirage struggled with himself to not freak out, but he had never been so close to crying. She’d always been looking for him! What a relief it was to hear that. That they had been so close and still managed to miss each other… well, it was frustrating, but what could be done? At least they were here now – and oh, how nice it was!
As her words finally slowed, Mirage poked carefully forward to find her nose, and then slid his head and neck along the side of hers in a gentle nuzzle. It was so good to have her there again, to be able to feel her in front of him. He finally pulled back after a moment, and realized he had to sit down for fear of falling over as his legs were trembling a bit. He sighed and finally found his own voice to respond. “I was so afraid you were gone forever. I didn’t know where you’d gone, and I thought…” He shook his head. The tears he’d been able to keep away were no longer listening to him. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to tell her what he’d thought might have happened – now didn’t quite seem like the time for that conversation. They didn’t exactly have all the time in the world – or all the privacy he might like.
He cleared his throat and sat up a bit straighter. “I’m so glad I found you – or, that Baby found me, actually.” A smile played across his face. “I heard you in the group, but I didn’t know how to approach you…”
Below them, Wanders with Roots also gave a few excited yips, but was distracted by the spectral hound. As Bubbles sniffs at her, so the sand dog returns in kind before sitting back and cocking her head curiously. So many new friends! She would not leave Mirage’s side unless he told her that it was okay, but she glanced between her master and the other dogs several times, curious all the same.447 OOC Announcement Hey, friends! I'll be away a lot this weekend, so to make up for my being gone, though I can't allow anyone to control Figment of Imagination for me, I can and do give permission for sheepcakes/Ochre to control/utilize Wanders with Roots! <3 Mirage can sit aside and let his pup go be useful~

Unforgotten thinks for a bit, unsure of what to do. Jester had told him to get up on to the rock next to him. He didn't have a better idea so, he climbs on the centerstone He was wondering why the rocks on other side had no reaction however.

The flurry of activity seemed quite unrelated to her perch, occupied much earlier, and she watched the way in which kin (and dogs) scrambled on and off stone with mild interest. At least her ankles were having a good break - she noticed that she tended to sink in the sand a little, which was displeasing. When the buck arrived to unsubtly to...to depose her of her seat, she squinted, unimpressed that Maxx had been asleep for most of this meta's actual developments aaaaarggghhghghdsfdsjklsa she was being... told. The vast irony put a giving smile on her face to the buck, but she rolled off the other side, away from his presence. She tried not to hiss when her ankles sunk into the hot sand again. Goodness, she felt like a dried fruit. Perhaps the only place that was safe was actually the obelisk. She was...investigating. Investigating the shadowed side of the obelisk, where it's large shadow fell away from the hot sun. Such thorough investigation that she sat, snuggled against the base of the obelisk, encased in cool(er) shadow. She should've thought of this....possibility before she was undignifiedly requested to get off something.

Baby, feeling very satisfied with herself, flops down beside Wanders with Roots, the rest of the pack following her lead. Though, not so closely cuddled as they would normally, it being much too hot to share body heat. Ochre sits beside Mirage, head resting lightly where neck and back meet. "I'm here now, let the fear go. We'll get this puzzle solved and then go home, and we can talk about all that happened in between."

Jester contemplates watching the other kin make different light reactions to the stones, the Obelisk remaining the same all this time. He looked at the crowd of them on the stone then, and realized this wouldn't work forever. He turns to the small group and smiles at Half Truth. "Oh, I'm Jester," he chirps cheerily. "But unfortunately, I must hop off now," he said with a frown, and looking at all the stones. "I have a theory we should all pick a stone and stand on it, and see what happens. The other side hasn't lit up at all, even when the brown acha was on top of one, and the second stone from the left there has turned red while no one is on it," he puzzles. It was confusing, but there had to be either a way to make it all light up red, all yellow, or alternated colors. Stranger, the hounds could stand on a stone and initiate a color. He was sure it wouldn't necessarily work, per se, but he looked over at Outcry hopefully. "Ho there old fellow, try standing on that red stone, second from the left, and see if it remains lit for you," he calls. Jester hops off the stone where the three had been standing, and decides to run all the way to the stone just on the other side of where Kisses stood, next to the symbol stone. Outcry growls lightly in affirmation, and then bounds to the stone next to Mist, hopping up lithely, and waits.

The black owlcat had trailed alongside the flanks of the group largely unseen and unnoticed. Now it watched them with what seemed to be amusement. It walked up to the Rouge and looked up at the pink acha. Its tail swung back and forth in the air, and something that looked suspiciously life fire seemed to flare form the tip for a moment. It looked to the center stone with the marking and then back to Rogue. It made a motion with its paw, pressing down once, and then twice.

"Nobody I recognize," Rose murmured in reply, watching the hullabaloo with the stones and kin laying upon them. Changes had been one of a few acha Rose knew, in her little humble abode. Here, they were plentiful. It was probably the environment of the desert- the overbearing heat seemed to suit the lot of them better. Vaguely, she longed to return to the swamp, with its cool mudholes to hide in. But she was with Half Truth, and that made this heat bearable.
"Just tell me where you want me!" She called to her love, but really, she would listen to whoever directed her which way.

"Is the red glow good or bad?" she wondered as the stone's color changed. Since the glow had gone out she hopped down from where she'd been standing for what seemed like hours. Stretching her muscles, she looked at the group around. It seemed the owlcat had an idea of what to do. Too bad it couldn't tell them exactly what though. "What if we hop along the stones until we get to the center?" It was the only thing she could think of which meant it was probably wrong. Intricacies were usually far beyond her.

Even amidst the hubbub, Rouge would've been hard-pressed to miss the black owlcat's actions, suspiciously flaming tail and all. "What's that, kitty cat?" she cried, perhaps a little more loudly, perhaps with a little more enjoyment, than necessary, "should I do something with that stone?"She could've tapped it, but, motioning Kisses off, she squeezed up onto the centre stone and jumped up and down on it - in for the penny, in for the pound.
