Talya took a deep breath. "I picked Imps for studying, because I am, myself, an Imp, even if I wasn't raised in an Imp society. Imps are officially ruled by Mayors, who rule over towns. However, much more powerful than Mayors are the bosses of Imp cartels. Bosses don't have any official power, but because they rule over large numbers of people all in a business, they have a lot of financial resources to bear on a situation. As a result, Bosses can put pressure on Mayors to make decisions that they want the Mayors to make, rather than the decisions that the Mayors were originally going to make. Mayors that anger the Bosses can find themselves in a lot of trouble." She paused. What else was there to say? "I think Bosses are also very powerful because of the size of cartels. Imp cartels are literally families, so they can be very large and spread out. Larger Imp cartels are basically villages by their own rights, so that makes Bosses a sort of private Mayor."

Capriccio smiled as it was her turn to present, she had asked her parents for help on what city to choose. Though she realized that her daddy was pretty terrible at the cities of the Below still, her mama was a big help. “I chose Graven's Gift as my city of choice. My mama said that our great grandparents were from there. Apparently it gets pretty chilly at time, but considering they were imps, it was okay. I want to visit, but I’m afraid that it might be too cold for me…” She then pointed it out on the map and returned to her seat. A girl could dream of travelling at least, she wanted to learn more about the food from there.

He couldn’t deny it, this assignment was pretty boring. Torx really didn’t like looking at maps, though he supposed that he would have to learn these things for when he and his brothers went on tour when they started up the band. He sighed as he stood, “I chose Ozryn as my town because a resort city sounds pretty relaxing and neat. I don’t really know much about geists yet, so learning about one of their cities could be interesting maybe?” He was reaching a bit for that last part, but he answered the question. That counted for something, right?

“My city for this assignment is Stormgate. I chose it because of the fact that it was ruined, which would be neat to explore and the fact that it was a trade city with the Grimm. Since I’m part Grimm, it would be neat to explore some of my own heritage. I do want to go to the Above in the future to visit my ma’s old home, but I think that will wait until I’m older. Apparently I have a lot of family up there compared to the Below.” Well, he had spoken more about himself than the actual city, but he did answer why he chose the city. It was somewhere he really wanted to visit in the future.

“My favorite city is Frostfyre, it’s where my family is from and where I grew up. I love it there, even if it gets really cold in the winter. Not everyone is made for it, ya know?” Syome smiled. She couldn’t really say much else that didn’t sound like bragging. She loved her hometown and she really missed her family. Hopefully she could go back home soon. “Otherwise, I’ve been hoping to visit Death's Kiss soon. I’ve heard nothing but positive reviews about it, summer or winter.” The little litch took a seat after her mini presentation. She was content with what she had said, especially since she mentioned two cities!

Heru perked up for this next question. She knew which one she wanted to talk about! "So, the city I want to talk about is the town in the Swirling Storm. Or what was the Swirling Storm. It's in Auster, and it's the homeland of Nagas and Bakenekos. My mother is half-Bakeneko, half-Naga, and they came from the town, so a little bit of my heritage is there. Well, half of it is there, so yeah. Um, the town was originally a Naga city and trading post. Bakenekos were wanderers in the desert, and a whole bunch of them were visiting the town when the storm started up. Since no one could go through the storm, they thought that no one ever existed outside of the storm ever. Well...maybe not ever, but they didn't know that us all, like, Demons and all, lived anywhere, and that's sort of funny, since Demons used to live in Auster! So I guess I'm an Austerian on both sides of my family?"

Wriggling in her seat, Sharkura chose the city she found of interest easily. Quirth.
Quirth is a city that I want to visit someday. I really want to be a sushi chef when i grow up, and the city of Quirth specializes in fishing! What else goes better with making sushi than fresh fish for sashimi? I'd love to learn about the industry, and maybe even try to fish how they do. I have heard of a few different ways of fishing aside from just swimming around and catching them in your mouth. It takes more patience, but I think it would be a fun experience if I visited a new place to try how they do it!

Marco thought of a city he wanted to visit and said "I would like to visit Silverfish City, since I was awoken here in Asphodel Fields I've never seen the nixie city. I would really like to see all the nixie colonies and see how others of my race live and what the city underwater looks like." Marco said cheerfully. He was really curious what life underwater was like since he had never lived like that being raised in Asphodel by the caretakers. Marco couldn't think of anything else to say so he sat back down to wait for the next student's answer.

Tolaram thought a moment about where he wanted to go and then said "I would like to go Alcyone the ruined Baphomet capital, from there I would make camp and perhaps explore the city for artifacts, then I would want to go to the Crown to explore the mountains to see if I could find any rare or interesting stones." Tolaram wondered if he could be an archeologist or a rock explorer or both when he grew up. He certainly wanted to do things out in the field not behind a desk or stuck inside all day that would be terrible.

"I think my favorite form of government is the ruling princes in Zephyros. Each place has a prince that governs their area, but they have a crowned prince they have to report to. That gives a system of checks and balances in a way. Though, I know I'd have a hard time remembering all the princes' names." she finished with a giggle.

Ruby didn't make a slideshow or anything for this presentation, but stood at the front of the classroom, holding a piece of paper in her trembling hand. Oral presentations were the worst, and she usually stumbled over her words for these. The fallen took a steadying breath, then began to read off her paper in a lilting manner.
"I decided to do my presentation on Fallen, because I'm an orphan and I thought it might be nice to know more about the culture of my heritage. In Fallen culture, the hierarchy is decided by age, making those who are older more powerful. Large Fallen societies are run by a group of elders called the Arch Regents, but we don't have them where Fallen are more spread out. Since we have a lifespan of about 200 years, elders can be, like, really old. In their culture, Fallen try to also be really polite and submissive, as well as peaceful," the opposite of me, Ruby thought, and she frowned a bit. "They like to mostly stay in their communities, and only a few pure Fallen travel outside the communities in which they grew up. Because of their peaceful nature, Fallen make friends easily, but they are also kind of prejudiced, so they don't always like ot make friends outside of their own race."
She returned to her seat, chewing on the words she had just read. Presenting it to the class was so different from finding it in her textbook and writing down quick facts. Even though Ruby was a Fallen, the culture of the people she should be a part of was so... foreign to her. And from what she knew, she wasn't sure she'd ever want to participate in such a passive and closed-off society.

Valir. That's definitely where Marrow would go. Imagine all the hidden treasures left under the rubble. Marrow's eyes began to sparkle with interest as he read in his text book about the fallen city. When he was called the boy immediately glanced around the room, feeling a tiny bit of anxiety set in. "Valir," he muttered to the teacher, casting his eyes down at his desk in hopes the teacher would just move on. He didn't of course. "Ugh, I don't know. I guess I'd like to go see how wrecked it is and stuff. Maybe see if they left anything decent behind..." Marrow cleared his throat a bit and sunk further into his seat.

Governments were a topic Raven was wholeheartedly not interested in. As far as he was concerned, he would do as he pleased and talk his way out of anyone with a problem. Still he had to present and was confident to do so. "I shall talk about demons, seeing as they are the most superior and adaptable race," he stated proudly before continuing, "In order to maintain order, unlike some other races, we maintain a clear hierarchy. We currently have a council - the Great Council - with elected governors. That's nice and all, but quite frankly I prefer our historic way of ruling." Raven smirked and glanced around the room, daring someone to argue. "The monarchy demonstrated that power clearly laid with the Sovereigns. Having a powerful figurehead is not only inspirational, but makes it easier to know your place within society. But that's all in the past now," he finished with a sigh.

Social studies was one of Teto's favourite classes because she loved learning about other cultures. She leaned forward expectantly as everyone talked, eager to absorb all the knowledge she could. She almost didn't notice when it was her turn to talk, but for once she was happy to speak to the class. "I'll talk about the Kumiho! We're still kinda new, so I bet people don't know a lot about us," she began with a cheerful smile, "we don't really have a government! Well, we have the elders, but I never really thought of them as governing, you know? We listen to them because they're the wisest, most caring people around! We don't have to do what they say, but why wouldn't you? They generally know best." Teto, like most Kumiho, respected her elders with every fiber of her being. Although it was weird when she thought about it too much; you didn't have to do what the elders said, but she'd also always been encouraged to do so, as if it was impossible to consider and alternative.

Xero considered the question with deep thought. He and his twin weren't particularly well-traveled, and it was natural for a child to want to connect to their heritage. Xero was interested in the Geists' way of manipulation but had no curiosity for their rather roguish history. Trade was even less interesting to the hybrid who had absolutely no interested in dealing with others. Instead, Xero would rather explore the Litch customs and, particularly, their magic. "Death's Kiss," he said simply, "for obvious reasons. Litch heritage, knowledge of necromancy." While necromancy was generally frowned upon, Xero's lack of caring for others and their opinions meant he hadn't yet learned to avoid the topic.
