Oh yeah! A little bit of hate in your heart, a desire to bring your enemies to ruin, and a dash of showboat-i-ness, and you had yourself one Matador coming to you on demon, damn it! Kai was glad to see the skull faced Fiend heeding his words, and while he knew that other Summoners might never be able to bring a Fiend into their bidding even once in their life, to him this was a relatively low-class being, even though it spread plagues and diseases as it passed. Yes, Matador was a natural disaster ,but not on the scale that Kai was seeking, and while it would do well for mopping up the monsters hiding in the crags and sewers of Tokyo, it was one that he would have to dispose of eventually, for it failed to meet his expectations. Even so...to think that his sheer determination had brought forth this much power. It even made the wicked Kai grin a bit. In testing out the skills of Matador, Kai found that the swordsmanship of the demon was everything that the legends had made it out to be. Although the way they used a blade in the arena was actually quite poor, Matadors were known for being extremely quick to strike and nimbler than most people, for their opponents were bulls of the mightiest caliber, capable of goring a man in a single stroke of it's massive horns. Thus, this creature was the personification of their intent to kill, but in a spectacular fashion, and so its skills surpassed that of it's lackluster human counterpart. Yes, Matador was born from resentment and the dark thrill of battle, of showing off as one stole the life of another, and because of this it was more wicked in some ways than other Fiends...for they, normally, were merely harbingers of nature and a necessary evil upon the land. Ah, if it wasn't a gathering of the so-called 'faithful' of the Shogun, turning themselves into bandits the moments things got harsh. They had apparently tried to loot the home of their current leader and steal his valuables, but for some reason or another they had been repelled. And now that they were on the streets, they sought to loot anyone who hadn't found shelter yet, or who had been driven out by demons. Their wicked kind deserved punishing, and if Kai had it his way, then even Hell would have been too good for them! But lucky for him, he could only book them that one way ticket, and once they got there the call belonged to someone else! The blood that Kai wiped from his sword made the demonic blade tingle with excitement, but despite the blood-tinged sword's desire to find more prey, Kai was done for now. They had deserved what they got, and while he took no joy in beating on the weak, those punks had what was coming to them...if the Red Dragon had been here, he would have made sure that those types were already forced back into whatever garbage can they crawled out of. A bunch of ghostly norsemen from the stories of old, come to life in the heartland of Japan in order to cause trouble? If Loki weren't behind the trouble they were all currently facing, this would have seemed impossible, but the frost giant happened to love playing with the lives (and afterlives) of humans just a bit too much not to let this strange and bizarre situation play out at least once in his time. There were a number of elements lingering in the park beneath the radio tower, and while Raidou would have liked to overlook such a strange circumstance, the tower was helping the Yatagarasu to provide a barrier for the city and thus could not be damaged. The demons were weak, and Kai didn't expect to have much of a problem scattering them, but their different attributes meant that the horde would certainly provide a diverse challenge, and if he wasn't careful, they might just be able to get a surprise attack or two in and deal some serious, unexpected damage. There were plenty of vicious Trolls out there, and the Nordish legends weren't the only ones to tell of their ferocity and propensity for eating the flesh of men. But that didn't mean there weren't other beasts of a similar nature and with a similar temperament, and though an early report told Kai that near the Red Light District there were a number of trolls, his investigation led him to meet a golem instead using it's command of mud to create duplicates. It was a problem for the Yatagarasu, so Kai saw fit to deal with it as quick as possible, and eliminate the Judaic monster before it caused anymore harm to the surrounding area. And most importantly, it most likely wasn't a servant of Loki, so the rumor that one of his kind had entered the city and would be rallying power in order to cause havoc was most likely exaggerated...at least for the time being. Matador was dancing through another crowd of demons, and while the orthrus' didn't appear to be putting up much of a fight in return, they were still enemies that the Yatagarasu had declared necessary for elimination. They were presenting a threat to the old mansion of someone that Raidou Kuzunoha had once helped, and in return had fallen into possession of the Yatagarasu. The important part though, was that there was a cave with russian nesting dolls underneath, and a number of forbidden rituals had taken place there in the past...it was an ideal base for the Yatagarasu, and these heedless demons might cause trouble if left alone. Dante had apparently made sure that the places important to the Yatagarasu were still mostly intact, a duty...or rather, a request that the people of the village had made of him. How they made contact with the gunslinger was a mystery to Kai, but another exchanging of coin soon followed, and Dante smirked as the two passed, waiting until Kai was a few steps passed him before letting out a coy remark. "Don't worry kid, we'll have our face off soon. But you've got to get your situation worked out. ...I can see your fly's down and everything." Kai's eyes shot down, only to realize he didn't have a zipper on his pants, and as he turned with grit teeth he realized Dante was gone. That was the last straw...the two would fight, damn it! Though Kai attempted to chase Dante down, he'd lost the trail of the Demon Hunter almost as soon as he'd fled. It was true that Kai couldn't keep up with him at the moment, though he himself was still strong enough to face a considerable number of demons. But that wasn't where a true Devil Summoner's strength lay, and in such terms humans could never match up to their counterparts from another world...no, summoning stronger demons was the only way to win. Kai didn't mind trolling as much as many people thought. Sometimes, there were demons or even humans that simply deserved a little trolling, and some were better at it than others. A poor trolling could even aggravate the people who normally enjoyed seeing such things, while a good trolling could leave even the one being victimized without any anger or resentment. Yup, and that's why as Kai watched his Troll troll through a number of demons, flattening them into paste, he knew...he was one of the best damn trolls there had ever been, and his demon lived up to the name. The demons flocked near the Soda Joint like sheep, fleeing from the onslaught that Kai lay upon them. There was no sign of a greater threat for now, so he felt compelled to eradicate anything that tried to sneak through the defenses of the Yatagarasu, and even when it wasn't worth much experience he made sure that his Troll didn't let the enemies escape. The beast was one that was a particularly fond legend in the north, just as he'd thought when he battled against that clay golem, but using it now against the forces of Hel made him consider just how ironic this current battle was...and he rather enjoyed squashing the little demon 'ingies with their own muscle, though the troll didn't seem to give a second thought to it even though he was wiping out his own men. A Troll on Troll face-off had sounded great in Kai's head, a test of raw strength the likes of which only arm wrestlers and sumo enthusiasts would be able to truly appreciate. But in practice, the creatures were so stupid, that instead of arm wrestling they'd both just sort of hugged and pushed at one another until they fell over with no clear winner, and instead of sumo wrestling they were headbutting each other, which brought to mind just how empty their skulls really must have been. Shame, thought Kai, this could have been an interesting sport among Devil Summoners if there had been something worth watching...but alas. This was a real shame. The walk back to the Detective Agency was a long one, and while Kai had expected an ambush of some kind, things were surprisingly peaceful during the entire venture. Though he wanted to put an end to the trouble in Tokyo long enough to reach another city and investigate the goings-on, for now he had to focus on eliminating the threats that seemed unending. Yes, when Kai made his way to another city, it would spell the end of one of the major players in this game, but until then he'd keep eliminating the small fry, and biding his time...at least, until an opportunity presented itself.
