"Glad to be of service Abraham..." Daniel replied with a soft smile, but deep within, he was far from happy with the results. As Lily stated the witch soul was needed for the machine to work. Why would the witch would refuse to help if her soul was needed. She called them traitors, and that sentence was stuck on his mind. Why? why would she refuse this? However, there was little to nothing they could do about it. While it all looked like they did the right thing, he couldn't help but thing of the posibility to have spared the witch's soul should they had been more patient... Whatever the case was, he would have to live with the decision they've taken. However, he would not show it, his face calm as ever as he spoke softly at the major. He couldn't just pass the burden to the others. He would fill his report when he gets back. "Well, I guess that settles things up. Good job everyone." Daniel grinned, rising his thumb at the team, it would seem the village had been saved. Since he didn't detect any abnormalities on the major's soul when he drank the antidote.

That seemed, well, rather tedious. Illo, perhaps engrossed in his old ways, wanted more. He might not have liked to wish that later, but it was a bit disappointing to be let down when it came to a fight; and though his body wouldn't have handled it as well the monk secretly yearned to put his skill to the test.
"... So, we're leaving then?" Maybe it was because he 'didn't do anything' in the fight which also fueled this new feeling of disappointment. "Should we not stay for a while to make sure everything went well?"

Okay," she looked at the others, a smile appearing on her face "Looks like we can go," she said, sounding relieved and happy that their mission was done.

"Indeed we can. after you." Said Daniel as he stood next to the door so Kara would step in first. He would look after them as they returned to Death city. With that, once Kara and Illo were on their way, Daniel would follow up. [Exit]

That's it? Illo blinked a couple times in disbelief. Was all that cryptic Latin in the forest really for naught? Suppose this was the true surprise, himself expecting the unexpected. It was times such as this that he remembered reviewing koans in his study in the monastery. In the end, Illo was somewhat relieved to be through with this, not having the strength to match Daniel or Lily anymore--Hell, even Kara outpaced him in the woods! He wanted to train...

A day after the team had left, the village had seemingly come back to life. People were walking around completely happy and glad that everything was done and over with. Another two days passed and as morning came, the village was dead silent. Not a breath to be heard and a sickly sweet aroma filled the air around the village. Mayor Abraham was standing up on the large hill by his mansion, holding the box with the device and witch’s soul in his hand. He seemed to be blankly looking over the village, his old eyes still closed. Footsteps would be heard behind him then and the man’s eyes opened and he turned around. The mayor’s eyes were bright red and blank. Something was off. He held his arms out to the figure that was there with him, the only other living person in the village. The cloaked figure took the device from his hands then and smiled “Thank you so much for volunteering in this little errand of mine. I greatly appreciate it.” The cloaked figure turned then and began walking before pausing for a moment “Oh yes… You should probably join your fellow villager’s now…” the figure stated before turning. They pulled out a gun from underneath their cloak and aimed at the mayor. A loud gunshot echoed through the village before all fell completely silent....
