Remy followed the Professor to the room and was thrilled to see the three Pokemon being studied right in front of him. One of these very creatures was to be his first companion?
All three Pokemon lined up to observe Remy as the Professor introduced them. First was the Chespin, who seemed very playful and curious. Remy reached out his hand, something he did to introduce himself to new Pokemon, and laughed as it sniffed and observed his hand. The frog-like Froakie came up next and wasn't as curious about Remy as it was ... almost waiting for him to come to it. Remy wasn't sure but did anyway and was relieved when the Froakie gave him a sniff as well. Unlike the others, the Fennekin didn't come to Remy straight away and in fact held back as he offered to introduce himself. The little fox seemed to be quite shy, so Remy simply smiled sweetly in understanding. "I figured it would come down to one of you two," He said to the Water and Grass types. Chespin perked up again and squeaked happily as the Froakie calmly listened, frubbles quivering from his slow breaths. Remy took only a few moments before turning to Professor Sycamore. "I think this Chespin will do fine, Professor."

Professor Sycamore
The professor held his arms behind his back, patiently allowing the boy to make his choice. He watched as he held his hand out for each of the three to get his scent, the Fennekin taking her time before finally approaching the Remy. The shyness seemed to eliminate her as a choice, and before long, he finally settled on the grass-type starter. "Bon choix, just one moment." Sycamore reached over to a nearby shelf in the room, lined with pokeballs containing the various starter pokemon he had in supply. Three belonging to the trio on display were left open, and he retrieved the one for the Chespin in question. While he did that, an assistant entered the room, carrying a neat bundle of potions and the new trainer's pokedex, fully registered and all. The assistant gave Remy his items and Sycamore handed him his Chespin, smiling widely as he was now ready to start his journey. "That should be everything, now the moment you walk out these doors you'll officially be a Pokemon Trainer."

Remy's smile grew happier with every thing he stuffed into his backpack, the last thing being Chespin's Pokeball into his jacket pocket. The Chespin jumped down from the table and squeaked to the Professor to say good bye before joining Remy at his side. Remy smiled and saluted the Professor before heading out of the room. "We'll be in good hands, Professor. Thanks so much."
Heading out of the Lab, Chespin seemed to be alright for walking for a while, even though it was still little, but Remy still picked him up and put him on his shoulder to better enjoy a view of Lumiose City for a bit. Remy figured heading towards the East. Rookie Trainers, he heard, started off in Santalune City.

Well there it was. The Kalos Labs and the first step into a new life reborn as a trainer after nearly ten years. There had been a lot of preparation made for this moment. The professor didn't know Emory was coming which had honestly been the biggest issue with everything her parent's had gone through to set this up but his labs had been unreachable from the Alola region thus far and when time came for Emory to make that first step back onto a dirt road she had insisted she make the journey to see him face to face rather then wait a moment more. The professor heard a knock from his office while reading over his paper work. He paused, moving to get up as an assistant nearby confirmed someone had come in. Sycamore gave a nod and left his office to go greet the person. It was a girl with an even tan skin tone and pale hair. "Ah, Bienvenue, ma cherie~ I am professor Sycamore. Are you perhaps a trainer seeking a starter?" he greeted the girl warmly, smiling.
Emory blushed a little as the man entered the room and introduced himself. It wasn't every day a random guy spoken french to a new girl so this one stool out in a crowd for sure. Tall, cute and he spoke french, it was the trifecta, the holy grail of cute guys. The only problem, and there was always a problem, he was to old. Better luck next time Emory thought.
Smiling she held up the back of her right hand with the tattoo that read "im mute" for the man to see. Charades might not be a fun game to a mute girl to play but it did at least come in handy, sometimes. Motioning like she was using a pen to write on paper Emory tried to get the message across that she wanted pen and paper before shacking her head to the mans question and holding up her left hand with the tattoo that read "Yes' on the palm then flipping it to her left pinky finger that had "Thank You" Tattooed on it. Her system for quick communication was effective if all be unorthodox.

This was a first. The girl remained quiet, but used her hands. Or rather, some tattoos on her hands, to speak. It wasn't completely unheard of, but the professor had little experience with helping mute people. Luckily, though it was a strange method, he managed to get a response out of her, using her tattoos. Once there, he picked up 3 pokeballs from a table. Seeing as she couldn't tell him what type she was interested in that easily, he would have her show him instead. The professor released one of each starter before her. "Here we have Fennekin, the fire type. Froakie, the water type, and Chespin, the grass type." he informed her. If she knew the one she wanted already, he was sure that she'd indicate that somehow. If not, and she wanted to get to know each one, that was fine, too. The starters were being very well behaved, looking attentively at the new trainer.
It was a nice change of pass when people didn't just stand and stair at you like your the dumb one just because you flash a tattoo to let people you couldn't talk. Yeah it was weird and yeah simply being mute was a rarity in of itself but that wasn't reason to be rude and stair opened mouthed like a Gyarados. Following professor Sycamore to his lab she stood by the door out of the way as the professor released the three started for the Kalos region. Emory already had an idea which one she wanted coming in but seeing them face to face made the choice much harder. Kneeling down to greet the trio and tapping two fingers to the center of her throat as she tried to speak hoping they understood. The pokemon didn't seem to get it at all and It was unlikely they could understand sign language but it was worth a try. Emory tried to first sign it in A++ but it had no results aside from some weird look from the Froakie and a giggle from the Fennekin. Next was to sign it letter by letter which tok much longer to do but the results here the same. Looking to the professor Emory wasn't sure she could convey the message without releasing one of her older pokemon or his help. Emory had to do this her self though otherwise she'd have a much harder time training wild pokemon who'd never spent as much time with a human as these tree had.
Puffing her checks out like a Quilfish Emory stood and from her belt released a Lopunny who turned to its trainer confused. Emory tapped her throat then pointed to the trio of starter pokemon signing her request to her translator pokemon. "Tell them i can't talk please.'. Lopunny nodded and turned back to the pokemon in question leaving Emory to give the professor a shrug and a smile. "Lopun nny polun." Emory couldn't convey the messaged but Lopunny sure could though the truth left the started pokemon each looked a little sad. Emory knelt back down knowing who she had her heart set on. Pointing a finger to the Chespin then back to herself hoping it knew she wanted him to come with her. "Chess chespin !" The tiny grass type said stepping forward so Emory could scoop him up into her arms. "Lo Lo punny." The bunny pokemon said before being recalled leaving Emory to hold the Chespin at arms length for the professor to see.

Sycamore was about to assist the girl as she seemed to struggle to convey to the starters that she could not speak. However, it seemed she had a handle on it as she sent out a Lopunny that understood what she meant for it to tell the starters. It took a bit, but the girl finally chose Chespin, holding it out towards the professor. "Splendid choice! Here you go, this is his ball." he said, handing over the chespin's ball and returning the other two starters. One of his assistants came over with the usual bundle - a pokedex, some potions and some pokeballs. "Here you are, ma cherie~ I hope you will find these useful on your adventure, and I wish you and Chespin the best!" Sycamore smiled, handing over the bundle.

Emory happily took the Chespins poke'ball. It was the basic red version, that need to go. She wanted all her pokemon in either heal'ball or love'balls. Pink was such a nicer color then red. Recalling the pokemon and clipping the ball to her belt Emory then took the Poke'Dex from the assistant but left the potions and poke'balls. Putting the Dex away first she turned back to the young female assistant holding up the back of her left hand "No" then flipping to the finger "Thank you" indicating to the items. she didn't have a way currently to explain to them she didn't want to use modern medians preferring instead berry's and more natural items. If they insisted shed take them to be polite otherwise they where wasted on her.
With everything resolved and her brand new Chespin tucked safely away at her hip Emory flashed the thank you pinky tattoo one last time, bowed and departed eager to correct his mistake and get that wristband. It would have made getting Chestpin a whole lot easier.

Viviette arrived a tad early to the Lab, generally choosing to be ahead of schedule on many of the things she set up. She was only perfectly punctual when it was necessary to be so, and this was not a situation like that. No need to be formal and no pandering to the wealthy and rule-strict high society. As you can see, I have Chespin, the grass type, froakie, the water type, and Fennekin, the fire type for you to choose from." he asked the male, motioning to the already released starters as he introduced them.
