Smiling, he returned the bow, a little excited about the meeting. This was the first time he had met the Haka that was interested in him before his mother had me them. The first time he actually felt like he wanted to be with a Haka. A very strange feeling, indeed.

"Until tomorrow, then."

He gave Masae a sly sneer, obviously relaying his excitment at the prospect. Enju watched the Haka leave, also in some state of shock and what he'd just experienced. Slowly, he turned and began down the path he had come again, deciding to go for a quick dip to settle down.

Fishing. Capek was a royal failure at it, but in truth he'd rather spend his free time failing miserably at something of his choosing than being stuck hanging around his mother's shop. It wasn't that the work was partiuclarly troublesome, but... -- well, one could only stand the smells of burning clay and the curious faces of custom for so long. The sluggish riverbank was definitely prefferable at that moment.

Though, he really would have liked to be slightly less horrible at fishing, since he was spending time at it. Sour faced, the dark skinned Gehaka fumbled as he attempted to hook the wiggling worm. He always felt a little bad squewering them. At least he didn't have any witnesses to his clumsy hands as he finally hooked the worm and cast the line out into the water. Maybe he'd catch something this time.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Enju set his fish down, not worrying if they were going to rot since they'd been sunned dry already. A block pf tree prohibited him from seeing the Gehaka just a few yards away from him. He undid his top but left his trousers, folding the top and setting them on top of the fish basket. Slowly, he slid into the water, biting his lip as he struggled to get used to it.

Finally, he caught sight of the other Gehaka but didn't bother staring too long. He dipped under the water, skimming the bottom rather quickly. It was only when he felt a slight tug on his pants that he stopped swimming. He was down river from the other Gehaka but he hadn't taken the time to observe what he was doing. Enju still felt a snag on his pants but ignored it, not actually feeling anything on him.

Capek, unfortunately, hadn't seen a thing beyond his own little stand of trees and the patch of river immediately visible to him. The Gehaka dug his toes absently into the sandy river bed, swishing his legs absently back and forth through the water. He was probably disturbing the fish. Ah well.

The tug on the line was so slight at first he didn't recognize what it was. Then it came again. Capek pulled himself out of whatever deep, inward thoughts he'd been experiencing, and stared at the line. He'd caught something? Blinking, he scrambled to his feet, took a firm grip on the stick of a fishing rod, and began twisting in the line. Today must have been his lucky day!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Enju was floating on his back, not far from the Gehaka, and not feeling to much tugging anymore. His eyes were closed and his light skin blended with the shimmer on the water. Suddenly, Enju let out a yelp as he was pulled underwater, the tugging now turning into a rough pull.

His water muffled yelling was silenced when he finally spied the fishing string. Frowning, he leaned forward to untangle it from on his knee when he was jerked forward, his arms flying backwards. He gave up and thought attempting to get a breath of air would be a better concept to dedicate his time to. He swam hard uo the surface, surting out a stream of water, now sitting on the rocks in the shallows, a sour look on his face and his leg slightly up in the air with the hook and string tangled around his knee.

It was clearly a big fish, if the strain on the line was anything to indicate the weight of the catch. Capek hissed under his breath, the weight of the catch causing the string to cut slightly into his palms as he fought to reel it in. Ha, now he'd certainly have something to show his brother -- always mocking his hobbies. Hells, Capek was willing to wager the entirety of his mother's household would be impressed by this catch.

Or maybe not.

The Gehaka's fingers went slack as the 'fish' pulled up on to the shore. He dropped the fishing rod and backed up a pace. That was no fish.

User ImageShi nodded and smiled, "Would you like me to give you some tips about swimming so that you won't look like a drowning animal?" It was merely a kind gesture. "It might be a little hard to tell if you're swimming or actually drowning if you continue on that way..."

Shizuka stopped swimming just long enough to look thoughtfully at Sei and say quietly, "No, I don't suppose I'd last very long either. You and I are artists, not fighters. Though it may be the only way for us to have a successful life, it doesn't seem fair sometimes that most Gehaka are expected to fight... those like us just don't seem to have a fair share in life..."

He was quiet again for a moment, a look of realization passing over his face. His ears and wings drooped and he seemed to shrink in the water, looking more like a fragile white flower in the water than an able boat-carver.

"I suppose that's why my mother could marry my brothers off so easily and I remain unclaimed... they were strong and bold; exactly my opposites. But no matter how weak I was as a youth, they always protected me... they were both Gehakas... And are both married to incredibly rich Hakas." He rubbed one of his arms with the other and sighed, "It's a bit embarrassing really..."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Enju wrinkled his nose in distaste, his brows furrowed unhappily. He drummed his fingers on a rock, his wings splayed out on the ground to balance himself. Snorting, Enju began to untie his leg, his drenched hair hiding his rather perturbed expression. He tried to stand, shaking off the string from his leg but slipping & falling back unsucessfully. Sighing, he pushed back his hair, a rather sharp smirk on his face.

"Sorry, but you'll have to throw me back."

User Image A few seconds of foolish gawping was apparently (eventually) enough for Capek's mind to process exactly what had happened. Quickly, he clambered back over the rocks lining the river bed, scrambling into the shoal of the shore, heedless of how his pant legs might or might not be getting drenched in the process of wading out to help untangle the other Gehaka.

"Sorry, sorry," Capek piped up, waving his hands slightly as he lumbered forward. Broad in the shoulder rather than tall, he lumbered forward like some over large cat. Hunkering down, his fingers quickly found the line, tracing it until he found where the hook was caught it the Gehaka's pants.

In his thumb.

"Augh, damn," he spat, jerking his hand away and stuffing the finger into his mouth.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Enju watched the Gehaka make his way over, grinning and laughing quietly. He was untying a knot that was around his leg. He brushed his hair out of his face, laughing a bit louder and waving his hands as the Gehaka rushed over to him.

"It's alright! I'm fine, I'm fine!"

He was winding the string around his hand, not wanting to ruin the the other's line. He was thankful he had found the hook so it didn't cut him, still holding his leg up warily. Enju's body was muscular but balanced out with his tall stature. He felt around his pants, finding the hook himself and looking concerned at the other, a small friendly smile on his face.

"You alright?"

"Fine; I'm fine," he mumbled around his thumb, pulling it from his mouth and examining it for a few seconds before dropping it to his side. It wasn't too bad. "For sure, it happens all the time. 'M not exactly a fishing prodigy, if you hadn't noticed."

Capek grinned sharply at the other Gehaka, fingers finding the bits of untangled line and beginning to take up the slack just enough so it wouldn't end up wound around the other's foot or some such as soon as it had been unwound from around the knee.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Enju smirked, chuckling and nodding sarcastically in agreement, all in good nature. "Ooh, yes, I noticed. Your thumb alright," he asked sweetly, genuinely concerned. He hated getting pricked as well, especially on a finger since they were some of the most important parts of the body, especially for working Gehaka like themselves.

Enju finally pulled the line off, a hole in his trousers which he was not caring about at the moment. He stood, handing the wound up string to the other. "I'm sorry, I've interupted your fishing. Uh, if you want, I can help you catch some. I wouldn't want you to have wasted your time on me without catching anything," he mumbled as he fixed up his drenched pants. When he was satisfied that everything was alright and there weren't any holes in any unwanted places he held out his hand. "Name's Arehoudai Enju."

Capek laughed. "You're the best thing I've caught in a long while, I assure you. Like I said, I'm not the world's best fisherman. However, count yourself lucky: I've decided to value you higher than a pair of old sandals I managed to trap last week. I'd feel grateful, if I were you." He had a broad, sharp smile that he employed as he took the wound line.

"My name's Sato Capek, but you can call me Capek. Suppose I owe you that after dragging you halfway out of the river, eh?"

A smirk danced across his face, beginning to make his way to the more even ground of the shore. "Well, Capek, let me grab my things and I'll fish with you a bit, if you don't mind. I need to catch one for lunch right now anyway."

Enju slipped and stumbled his way to the shore. He walked and grabbed his belongings. He was back in a few seconds, setting his things on the dry ground away from shore, a net in his hands. "Hehe, this is the easiest way to catch fish," he said rather boastfully but still friendly.

Capek eyed the net thoughtfully. It certainly looked a good deal easier. He hefted his own makeshift fishing rod, reeling the hook in. No more worm. Ah well. He hadn't really expected to be successful anyway. He'd caught a person! How many people could boast to that, right?

Right.

Sighing, Capek flopped back down to sit on the river bank, rummaging for more bait to squewer on the hook. At least he wasn't feeding himself with his catch. He'd definitely be starving then.
