Profile Clear Out is Over! A huge thanks to everyone who has been a star and replied to the Profile Clear Out! The topic is now locked and that means if you have not claimed your profile it will be archived. We will be redoing the accepted forums from scratch to reflect the new guild dynamic.
Again, thank you and remember to keep your eyes peeled here for the Obama Announcement!

The Dawn of a New Era. The Dawn of Justice So, it's finally here. It's a little later than expected for some reason... I don't actually understand what held me up so much but I hope that this post is satisfactory and that it will galvanize some activity back into this guild. We're going to just form the Justice League; we're going to set them a target and see how it goes and what might happen. With this we should see the Hall of Justice in use (The Watchtower will have to be earned) and hopefully we will see some interesting interactions between the various legacies and what not.
So, without further ado, your PSA:
Public Service Announcement Barack Obama President of These United States
It started with a sound. No matter what device: It could be a phone, a computer, a laptop, a tablet- as long as it was connected to the internet- it would vibrate, ping or do whatever it had to do in order to garner everyone's attention. It was quite a wide net to caste but with the NSA's comprehensive coverage of most of America's devices; it was only a matter of time before they landed a catch on one of the people they were looking for. They would get the message, despite their hidden and secretive nature and answer the call to arms that the President was about to issue. Secret identities or not., this Public Service Announcement would stream everywhere it could and there would be no chance of them missing it.
It was quite the desperation play but America was reaching a pretty desperate point. People needed the Justice League.
And as the camera panned towards the man himself [Barack Obama] you could see it in his face too that something needed to be done. No longer the vibrant and charismatic man who had won that first term in officer what seemed like a millennia ago; Obama's hair had greyed and thinned and he looked tired beyond belief. Yet, despite his home being demolished and despite being locked in a whole for his own safety; he was still quite a commanding presence on the screen. He looked stern. Serious.
"My fellow Americans..." He finally said, raising his hand and talking down the lens "Today, I come to you not as your President but as sorrow struck human being. My term in office may be coming to an end, my office has been destroyed and I have had to be saved myself by brave people. Nothing will ever equal my sorrow at the fact of what happened in Leawood, Central City recently. Many people lost their lives in a blaze of hellfire and whilst i was happy to sit back and see myself put in danger, I am not happy to sit back and see innocent people suffer and die. As such, my administration has decided that it is time to reforge the Justice League." He took a moment to pause and let the moment sink in. This was glorious news, shocking to some but well overdue in the minds of others. "With the Government's Aid and the help of S.T.A.R Labs I believe we can form a better Justice League than ever before that can help the people of America sleep easy at night. To those heroes who have emerged, please join us at the Hall of Justice . Myself and Shazam, the person I deem worthy enough to help lead you, will be waiting for you to begin our first assignment as allies. An assignment to apprehend the culprite behind the Leawood Massacre."
Again Obama paused, breathing a sigh as he once again approached the microphone. "And before I go and sign off, before I go to the Hall of Justice and Hope you will all join me... I have a message from S.T.A.R Labs to Kira El-Zor-El: S.T.A.R Labs is sorry for what the Paris Branch did to you. They want you to know that they want to make it up to you. So we also hope you will join us at the Hall.
God Bless You All."

Do not delete posts! Edit posts, do not delete them. Now the Hall of Justice Front Doors have an unequal number of posts.
Plus there wasn't even a need to.
Do not post here to reply to this. Just live and learn.

Bringing the Alignments in line - FOR THE FINAL TIME! Dear All,
I have always made it clear in this guild that we do not allow neural characters within this guild. We are bound by two sets of people in this guild: Heroes and Villains and one is obviously good and the other is obviously bad, we need to keep this paradigm if the guild is to be successful. We need there to be evil for good to fight and neutrality is a concept that just, well, it ruins that. Why I hear you ask?
It's simple really: People are annoying. I don't know what it is or why people do it but when given the opportunity to be neutral everyone clammers to be neutral. Every clammers to be an "anti-hero" (in the vein of Deadpool or something unoriginal like that and what not and not knowing what the actual meaning of the concept is) or some sort of person so they can, and I quote, "Do whatever they want". In Naruto it is Missing-Nin, in Bleach Vizards and in many other concepts there are many other similar roles. In terms of heroes and villains it would be "Anti-Heros" and "Neutral" characters. Red Hood is a good example of what I mean. If we allowed for it people would just continually make neutral characters and go around just doing as they like and then people will wonder why the guild dies. I've seen it happen so many times over my years on Gaia that it became a bane of my existence. I spent years RPing Missing Nins and eventually gave up my characters for the betterment of the guild I was in and, to be honest, to inject some new life into a stale time. My actions were killing a guild and I made amends and by conforming to the village structure (it was in a Naruto guild) I actually had a better time. It forced me to interact with people I wouldn't usually and I grew as a result.
That and most Neutrals and what not usually just post between themselves or just to themselves and offer very little development opportunity for anyone or anything.
So why am I saying all this?
In guilds I've seen in the past that stopped neutrality and implemented alignment systems of a D&D like frame (minus the neutrality groups), a trend emerged that I watched flourish and grow until it eventually swallowed those guilds up too. This trend, which I tried to make people aware of but nobody listened to, was the pattern in which someone would use the term "CHAOTIC" to justify being neutral in all other aspects other than being labelled as such. And it's just as annoying as literal neutral characters. Yes, Chaotic is a genuine role play tabletop term associated with "free-spiritedness" but it does not justify what most Gaia RP users do under the mantle. It doesn't allow Chaotic Good characters to slaughter entire threads of people just because "their heart told them to do so" (I am seriously not making this s**t up) and it doesn't allow for Chaotic Evil characters to basically be heroes who slaughter and steal but then complain they are misunderstood (again, not a lie, has happened. Was dumb.).
These are the reasons why. These are the reasons I do not allow for Chaotic Good or Evil or Neutral. Because I can't trust everyone to be sensible with the privilege. The alignment system in this guild is for good and evil characters. It's basically a means to identify you as a hero or a villain as we don't have an outright subsection to the profile that says "HERO OR VILLAIN?" It's a simple and easy system to use. It shouldn't have to continually be re-explained or cause confusion.
And before anyone turns around and says: "But I'm using it for more detail!" No. RP for more detail. Show me what you are as long as what you are doing fits in with your alignment there shouldn't be a problem. Hell, even my Superboy is on the run and by definition Chaotic Good but I keep being Good I keep trying to do the right thing and I don't need a label for it. I just need to write well and write smart.
Now that my rant is over the following profiles have been edited by myself to come into accordance with the alignment rules: - IGmangachick's Wondergirl - Forks Anonymous' Catwoman - Rebel the DESTROYA's Caleb Folley - Ron_of_Wolves' Myrkr - Rebel the DESTROYA's Hellhound
Should they be edited back to their original states before these edits the profiles will be unapproved and asked to be subject to moderator judgement once more.
Thank you.

An amendment and apology Ok guys, I'm not sure the best way to say this. However, I feel all of you, if not a specific few deserve an apology. Earlier the guild captain posted an announcement on alignments. In the post he claimed and I quote "People are annoying" then went on to say about how neutrals were essentially pointless and caused issues. I would like to apologise for anyone who felt insulted by the annoying comment, especially those listed. This was not necessary, and was honestly in a way an indirect insult. Also I would like to note I have edited all application forms from Moral Alignment: [Good/Evil] to Moral Alignment: [Must choose between good or evil, there are no alternatives.] I have done this as the previous option is Race: [Human/ Alien/ Demon] I understand that this can cause confusion as some may specify their alien and alternative race with no consequences, leading to the belief they may do the same with alignment. However with this edit that should hopefully no longer happen.
I shouldn't have to apologise for another member of the mod teams actions however I feel you all deserve one. Thank you all for reading

Possible Guild Closure Dear all,
Due to personal issues, I may eventually close down the guild. To me it's not very fun anymore and, to be honest, I'm tired of everything. It just makes me angry and is more hassle than it is worth.
Should things improve DRASTICALLY over the next week or so then I shall reconsider. However, at the moment, I am very much inclined to give up the ghost right now and shut everything down. I know that would be unfair and unkind and this is why I am giving us all a chance to turn things around...
I want to care, I really do but I just don't. Not at the moment and possibly not anymore.

American Rugby Team As an Englishman and avid Rugby Fan, I was really impressed with the U.S's tenacity versus Scotland today in the Rugby World Cup. It seemed a shame they lost in the end, everyone loves an underdog.
It was unfortunate. The U.S should be proud of their team's performance though. It was pretty remarkable that they took it so hard to a Nation like Scotland who pride themselves on their International Prowess in the game.
Well done. Can't wait to watch them play again.

Profile inactivity Hello everyone!
A very short announcement, I have gone through the profiles thread and there are many profiles with inactivity. Anyone who has a profile like this (and they will know tho they are as they have been quoted by me) you have 7 days to get back to me about your profile, if you do not it will be scrapped. This is your final warning! Thank you, Reflected Perspective.
