Others had gathered, made their offerings, and left or lingered close to see what might come from this remarkable sight. She'd heard stories of those who had seemingly come from the stars, and others who had been guided back to those they loved in the star's guiding light. She... missed her family. She knew they were out there, somewhere, and yet she couldn't quite bring herself to travel far enough to find them once more. They'd been separated since long before the lands were ravished by fire, and she couldn't... quite... bring herself to search, not knowing what might be waiting for her to find. She knew in her heart that they were well, that none had perished, and yet... were they happy? Would they be upset when they saw her, or cling to her and refuse to ever be parted again? Uncertainty plagued her as she made her way up the hill, holding her offering carefully cradled in her mouth so as to not spoil it. It had hurt a little when she'd plucked the long feather from her tail, but she'd been so lost in memory that she'd barely noticed- or, rather, barely cared... after all, perhaps the star needed something of her to help her find someone who shared her blood. The stone was merely a catalyst, something that reminded her of her family... all edges worn away by the smooth passage of the waters of time, all of that angst spurned by her father's side of the family mollified by her mother's tender kindness, her brother's flashy temper made more complacent by the influence of maturity... and yet, how would they feel, what had happened to them in all this time... where are you? Mother, father, brother... sister...? "I love them all..." she whispered, for only the star to hear. "Please, whomever is nearest, whomever you can reach... guide them back to me?" She knew not whether the star would deem her worthy, or whether another was in more dire need of their family or a loved one at their side, but regardless of the outcome... at least she'd tried. And, perhaps, if the star was kind, she would be reunited with her family once more. Thus did serenity wash over her, as she left her offering and turned to make room for another. May we all be granted what we wish for most. Thank you.

An oval blue tiger eye and a crescent shaped stone, representing the Moongazer family symbol of an eye encircled by a crescent moon. She was beginning to wonder if it would ever happen, if she'd ever encounter a member of her family again. Still her desire to know what had become of them all since her exile had her again placing an offering before the Wishing Star. She lifted her head gazing for a long moment at the star before shutting her eyes and speaking the wish of her heart. "It's been many long years since an accident of temper separated me from my family. I've formed a family of my own now but in my heart I still feel like something is missing. I wish glorious star to encounter a member of my family so long lost to me so that I might know what's become of them all and they what's become of me." Eyes still closed she bowed her head a tear dropping on her offering, before she turned and joined her mate where he awaited her supportive as always.

Charlotte and Devicius have been through a lot together. Their first challenge was letting each other in and working through the problems they presented one another. When they triumphed and found that even through all the crazy, they came out stronger and more accepting, they grew closer and love blossomed. Something that both of them were sure would elude them. Their next surprise were three beautiful children, but their euphoria for their little family would be short lived. Devicius' daughter from his previous lover was jealous and sought to tear the happy family apart. When Sophia failed in stealing their daughter, their defenses were up all of the time. While it put fear in their hearts of it happening again, it strengthened their family bonds. Time passed fluidly and before they knew it, their little ones were young adults, seeking their own adventure. A bittersweet moment interrupted by the arrival of a surprise basket! A subconscious wish had been heard and they were gifted with another daughter. They never let their guard down as Ana grew among their growing family. Belly soon had baskets of her own when tragedy struck in the form of Sophia, robbing her of a basket and succeeding in raising the colt into a powerful stallion who saw her lies and returned home to his family. Now that things have calmed down and it seems as though they might sleep soundly through the night again, Charlotte and Devicius have been allowing their thoughts to wonder to more children.
_____ Charlotte was nestled next to Devicius, his wings folded over her back, providing the perfect amount of warmth from the crisp night air. She lay her head on his back and watched the stars above them, so many peppered the sky, lighting it up like thousands of fireflies. She knew Dev was still awake, watching the tree line, always so cautious, so when her odd pink eyes landed on the bright star that had not been there any other night she could recall, she didn't feel guilty when she gasped and scrambled to her hooves. "Devicius, love, look at the sky! The star!" She turned her head to look at him, grinning, excitement shivered through her slight frame. "We should make a wish before it is gone!" Devicius had indeed been scanning the tree's when Charlotte scrambled to her hooves. His gaze shot toward the sky to the aforementioned star. A small smile spread across his face as he took in Charlotte's excitement, her grin. It was all very infectious, enough to make him chuckle as he rose to his hooves as well to stand next to her. He knew what she wished for most, what he wished for, that some day soon they would be chasing around a curious colt or filly full of spunk and love. While looking at Charlotte he started their wish. "Great Star, hear our prayer, our wish for a child to add to our family. Our hearts over flow with an abundance of love to share, patience to teach, and the wisdom to guide." Dev gently nuzzled Charlotte's cheek and then took one of his beaded trinkets and placed it on the withered bark of a fallen tree.
Emotional tears pricked at the edges of Charlotte's eyes as Devicius spoke, so when it was her turn, her voice started out a little raspy. She cleared it and started again, this time stronger. "Beautiful Star, with your mysterious power, we wish for you to find our gifts to you and our love adequate for our plea to be heard." She herself removed one of her feathers and placed it under the trinket, so it would not blow away. "We do not wish lightly, we know the responsibility that comes with little ones and we welcome it with open hearts and minds." She sighed and looked at her mate and smiled. "I think we did it right. It sounded right." She smiled nervously, then moved closer so that he could drape two wings over her and hold her close. They stood like that for a while before they settled down for sleep, both of them closing their eyes and hoping they were heard.

At her feet in the pale blue light of the star overhead the unusual mare delicately places a creamy colored Juliet Rose, and beside that selenite blade which absorbs the light and glows faintly. Short IC Response: The most heinous of the spirits surrounding the odd mare mocked her for the void she felt in her heart, and for the silliness of begging a star for assistance. With a quick flick of her spade tipped tail the laughter was cut off, and for a brief moment in time it was just her and the celestial body overhead.
"Wise watcher of the heavens, lend me your ear. Hear my wish..." Her voice trailed off as she began attempting to think of how put the thoughts rolling around her head into words.
For so long she had lived in a sharp form of agony, always fighting off the madness that inevitably came from the two halves of her parentage, being constantly deceived and taken advantage of, and always being made to feel like an unwanted outlier. The only time she had ever felt accepted was when she was coerced into becoming a member of the tainted Blood Moon carnival, and even that was a trick that lead to nothing but pain and sorrow.
As her gaze remained fixed on the star hovering so regally above her head she began to feel as though the light were reaching out toward her. Delicate tendrils of warm light descending from the sky above to caress her worn, battle-scarred soul. Suddenly she felt a warmth that seemed familiar to her, as though she had experienced it somewhere long ago in a very different time.
"I wish for a light to cut through the rays of darkness haunting my every step. I wish for joy and laughter once more, a reminder of the good that is possible to experience in a lifetime. I wish for something to make me feel again, to allow me to raise my head up and fight the demons constantly stirring within; to make my life feel like less of a waste. I wish for pure, innocent love."
Nudging her offerings tenderly with her nose she smiled for the first in a very long time. "I give you the Juliet rose, a symbol of delicacy and love. Of beauty and grace, of a dream shared by all. I also offer a Selenite blade for strength and clarity, and for a better future for the one who wields its keen edge and power. They are simple, but meaningful."
Taking a step back, the lonely mare lingers in the barren valley. A creature exiled and at the same time desired, rejected yet claimed. "Help me."

One of her precious butt feathers. Short IC Response: Ichika was seeing things that she did not think could be seen. She had heard stories of a star that granted wishes. It was a notion that she was having a hard time making logical sense of. Ichika walked into the open and looked up at the star.
"A star that hears must have ears and if it has ears then it must hear and if it can hear then it most certainly has fears and if it has fears then it must certainly understand me." She knew that no one was around, she had checked earlier. Her rambling words still made her a bit self conscious even if there was no one to hear, but she had established that the star could hear already so she was self conscious. It was her discomfort that had driven her to the star. "Hearing star with your fears you better be hearing me because I don't want fears. I have a brother, and I fear he is dead but I know he is not dead. My brother knows me well and as you can tell I am rather...odd. most people don't know because I don't show but I want you to know that I want my brother again to show. He is the only one, he is the only one, he is the only one who is not done with my riddles and the words I have spun."
She turned suddenly and ripped out one of her multi-colored butt feathers and dropped it onto the ground. "This feather is for you because you too understand fear and loneliness." Ichika turned and left. Her butt stung a bit but, it was nothing to the sudden pain of longing that she felt for her brother.

Two feathers, to symbolize two hearts grown distant with time. Short IC Response: What does you soquili ask/tell the wishing star when he or she comes to ask to find their relative? Kaya Awa lingered at the outskirts of the gathering, feeling much like a fool. So many had longed for so many years for their family, and he... he had left his. He'd always been closest to his mother, and with her passing the bonds he shared with his brother and... father... had been insufficient to hold him to their family home. He had left, in search of his namesake Pure River, that elusive and tantalizing vision his mother had shared with him so clearly... And Orchid... little Orchid... the pride and joy of the family, his little sister, lost far too young... her passing had directly impacted his mother's health, and soon the bright females were gone leaving only the dark and dismal grieving stallions. Who could ever have expected them to remain a family, wrought with such sorrow? The bond between brothers had been one of mutual admiration of the little filly who had come so breath-takingly into their lives, a tie of pride and brotherly love for not each other but for her... replaced by mutual disappointment and self-deprecation at being unable to save their beloved. ...and Father... well. Father had always liked Kaya Awa's older brother more. Call it old-fashioned, but the first-born always had a special place in their sire's heart far above the mother's second-dearest (her first-dearest being, of course, little Orchid). Kaya Awa's eyes were filled with pain, though he tried to keep his expression as neutral as he could. Orchid... Mother... I miss you so much.... And yet no amount of wishing would bring them back.
He took a deep, steadying breath, and moved forwards, unprepared for the offering as he had not intended to volunteer his own desires to the great star. He had only himself.
As he approached the altar, he turned his head and ripped a feather from his left wing, then another from the right. He straightened his spine and placed his offering, tied with nothing and yet layered so like his own heart and that of his brother- from the same parents, to be sure, and yet connected by only that now that they had grown so distant- and spoke. "I am not... ready... to see my father yet. But I think... it is time to see my brother again." He bit his lip; if he traveled home, he could not be sure that he would encounter only one and not the other. He didn't even know if they were still there... his father, certainty, but his brother? He had a wanderlust in his heart that mirrored Kaya Awa's own. "Please help me find him, so I might set... at least what still lies between us... right."

I stop to help when needed, but as soon as the need for me to assist is gone I... fade away, back to myself, secluded and... alone. Truly crazy patterns (Nothing resembling anything in nature) Uhm... uhm... i'm out. What does your persona (or soquili or familiar) leave as an offering for the wishing star? He makes this offering, too, as an afterthought, just as he was about to leave... if not his brother, perhaps a smaller soul would be easier to guide close? Different reasons entirely, but still... something of him, to help a potential companion come close. He pulls a few strands of hair from his mane, and leaves them, feeling somewhat sheepish and yet sending another quite murmur up towards the star with a whisper of thanks.
