"I don't mind taking chances, it's just that I'd rather not hurt anyone in the process." She walked a little bit more into the water, letting the water splash against her legs. Medei didn't mind Bukotsu poking at her. "If you ever want to...inspect...the phoenix again, please, I'd be happy to be a specimen." She laughed. She had always been full of surprises. That's just how she was.
She contemplated about whether or not she could be safe going out that far. She knew how to swim, due to an accident earlier in her life. "I'll go out a bit with you, but if I can't stay out very long, I apologize." She would go out as far as she could with him. He was going out of his way to do this for her. The least she could do was swim out with him, despite the fact that it was almost life threatening.

"It shouldn't take too long... And well you can get out of the water anytime you please," Bukotsu said as he made a running start into the water as he drove himself through a moving wave to get out into water. After swimming some distance from the shore, he turned back and waved to her signaling the water was fine.
He patiently floated about in the water for her to come along out. "I hope it doesn't get to dangerous with those serpents this time..." Buktosu said looking up at the noon sun.

Medei laughed as she watched Bukotsu. He is still a regular guy who liked to have fun. She thought to herself. She slowly waded deeper into the water, that way she might adjust. Perhaps if she went in slowly, it wouldn't be as bad as diving right in.
Once she had successfully made it out with him in to the deeper water, she looked around her. "Now what? Wait?" She asked quietly, trying not to burn all her energy that way she might be able to get back safely, should she need to.

"Well, now that you're here, I'm pretty sure you don't have to dive down with me," Bukotsu said as he smrked and then zipped underwater. He swam at a rather fish like speed due to his physical condition, but he came to a stop. The ocean floor was already several kilometers away from him, and stacking up like a hill or pile of rocks was a rather oddly shaped mountain mass with several holes scattared about its surface. Bukotsu had found his way to his knife as he pulled out what appeared to be a breathing apparatus that fit in his wouth with 2 medium sized tanks poking out it's sides like fins or whiskers.
All he had to do now was find a serpent. He was carrying several of the breathing apparatus' in case Medei decided to dive with him, or when the first tank ran out. He slowly swam out towards the formation of rocks as he shifted his eyes from side to side to make sure there weren't any other serpents about. It would be hard since the Black diamond serpents sometimes attack intruders in packs, but Bukotsu would only be able to swim to the surface since these human sized terrors avoided the surface.

She was relieved that he didn't want her to dive with him. She looked at her watch. Medei figured she would be able to handle at best, ten to fifeteen more minutes of the water before she had to get out. Hopefully Bukotsu would be back before then.
The water wasn't so bad, now that she was getting used to it. Perhaps because she was older, and tolerable to more things. She didn't mind pushing her limits, as long as she had someone else with her, to catch her incase she fell. At least that was her thinking. "I hope you are doing alright Bukotsu." She said to herself, being as she was the only one there. She didn't want her only friend to get hurt. She enjoyed talking with him. He helped her in so many ways, and he was the most pleasant company ever.

Bukotsu had swimmed deeper and deeper towards teh structure as he found one black diamondback. Rushing in and gripping the short serpent by it's neck, Bukotsu only saw this would work since the last time.
Since swords or knives or whatever couldn't puncture it's dense skin, Bukotsu could only stangle it. But in the middle of this, two had made their way toward him, and the serpent's neck laying in his armed grip had been strangled to death. In the midst of this, Bukotsu had held up his hands as his chi energy lei lines began to glow as he fired off a huge surging blast of heat energy. Causing what appeared to be a sonic boom in the water. He couldn't see through the bubbles and began heading toward the surface with the serpent under his left arm using his right to propel and direct.
Almost there... Bukotsu thought as he was halfway to the surface. He looked back down and saw that the two serpents from before had apparently been harmed by the blast and appeared to be floating like dead fish, but in the middle of this, he saw that the other serpents of the nests came out and fed on the 2 corpses. Seeing how the teeth tore through the skin like that gave him idea on what to do with the rest of the serpent.

Medei knew something was up the moment she felt warmer water and bubbles coming from below to escape into the air. Bukotsu, I hope you are alright. She thought to herself. This wouldn't be good if he drowned. She would try and save him, but she didn't know how successful she would be.
Medei looked down, and thought she saw something. Was it Bukotsu? It was such a shadowy figure, who looked to be halfway down. She figured if it were something else, she should just stay still and hope that it went away.

Bukotsu was almost to the top as his head popped out of the water. He lifted the lifeless serpent's head slightly, "Done, it didn't take so long, at least it wasn't as hard as my first time slaying my first serpent," Bukotsu said as he smiled at her, "Why the long face?" He smirked, you got your gloves, and well you got your chance to hold flowers and plants now," he spoke in calm.
"Let's head back," Buktosu said as he wadded away in the water for her to go first, "Ladies and Misses firstm" Bukotsu said reaching his arm out like a pretend gentleman.

Medei let loose a sigh as he popped out. He had nearly scared her to death. She shook her head and smiled as he showed her his trophy. "I'm just glad that you are safe. You had me worried Bukotsu." She reddened at his mention of her long face. She just shook her head, as if shaking it away.
As they headed back, she took his arm, and chuckled quietly. "I am truly indebted to you Bukotsu. How am I to pay you back?" She said seriously. He had pushed it aside earlier, but there honestly had to be a way to give back just as much as he had given.

"Well I'm flattered Medei, and glad that you would worry about me..." Bukotsu responded red in the face as he took her hand and gently swam back to shore.
He had taken a minute to think about what he would want in return, but in the matter of seconds, his stomach gavea loud growl, almost enough to here from some distance. He instantly smiled and had an idea of what he wanted. He had turned his head for a moment towards Medei with a warm and open smile
"Umm, well I wouldn't ask for any favors, but how about treating me to lunch after?" Bukotsu said as he let his head go off in the clouds, "I haven't eaten anything since this morning and I was planning to buy some groceries while here in Mithril anyways," Bukotsu said as the two and the serpent were several meters away from the sandy solid shore.

Medei chuckled as she heard Bukotsu's stomach growl, and when he smiled at her, she smiled back.
"It would be my pleasure to cook for you. It won't take very long either. I hope you don't mind food being cooked with an open flame being used." She smirked. She loved to cook, and she used her ability to do it. It just made the food taste better, to her at least. She'd tried cooking with a flat range before, but the food just tasted heated up, not cooked.
"Perhaps if you like how the food tastes afterwards, you'll let me cook for you sometimes. That is the only way I can think of repaying you." She laughed. Repaying him, for risking his life, with food. Medei thought.
Seeing that they were almost to the shore, she relaxed. During her whole trip in the water, she had only gotten a bit nauseous, but that had gone away as soon as it had come. She quite enjoyed it actually. If only her mother could know.
"What do you like to eat Bukotsu?" She realized that she had no idea what he liked. As far as anything went, she didn't know much about him at all.

"Hmm, well I haven't had a burger in awhile, how's about burgers for lunch then?" Bukotsu smirked as he led her on shore. People began looking at the serpent under his arm in disbelief that such a thing exists. He was still holding Medei's hand, unknown to Bukotsu until Bukotsu saw couples holding hands, he looked at his and Medei's hand and quickly let go out of eshyness.
"Medei, I would be honored to eat your cooking," Bukotsu smirked. He had carried the dead body of the serpent to where dry sand the wet sand. He plopped the lifeless serpent with a loud THUD on the sand. He knelt down and observed the body alittle more before doing anything else.
"I'll be done with these gloves in a couple of seconds," Bukotsu said as he pulled out the knife from the scaffold on his leg as he began to quietly skin the serpent.

At the mention of food, Medei's stomach growled too. She couldn't help but laugh. "Burgers it is then. I didn't think being in the water could make you so hungry." She too noticed they were still holding hands, and she took a step away from him as he let go. She too, was shy about such things.
"I didn't think anyone would be honored to eat my cooking, but I'm happy to oblige none the less. If you could just point me in the direction of the store, I'd be happy to get the food while you work on this." She said, pointing to the serpent. It would give her something to do, even though he said it would only take him a few seconds. She watched him, and he seemed so content sitting there quietly. Medei saw Bukotsu in a whole new way.

"The store should be right around the corner of that surf shop," Bukotsu spoke politely as he turned his head to Medei and pointed at the general direction of the store.
"If you're a good cook, then I'd be very grateful instead," Bukotsu said as the thought of how he would seem like if he became a beggar. Apparently his head was in the clouds again. Reality snapped back into place when he realized he was done skinning the serpent, he reached into his pouch and pulled out what appeared to be a pair of scissors that for some reason had razored edges, and needle and silverish thread. He then looked up Medei, whom apparently shaded him from the sun, but seeing her from this angle she seemed to almost appear as a female deity from his angle.
The sun shining behind her was pretty much caused Bukotsu to see her beauty in the sunlight and dark. He tilted his head slightly trying to shake the trance he was in and then was smacked right back into reality when he accidently poked himself with the sewing needle.
"Medei, may I see your hands please," Bukotsu politely asked before he would let her go to the store.

Medei turned as he pointed to where the shop would be located. It wasn't that far away, which she was happy about.
"I will let you be the judge of my cooking. Normally I only eat it, so I'm partial to how it tastes." She smiled before letting loose a small chuckle. Noticing how Bukotsu was looking at her, she blushed ferociously, and kneeled down next to him.
"My hands? Sure." She said when he asked to see her hands. They were small, but she thought them nice. One of the few things she enjoyed about herself were her hands. Perhaps because over the years, fire had conditioned them, instead of making them rough, like her fathers'. She held her hands out to him, with a gentle smile on her face. Her blue eyes watched him intently, waiting for his next move.
