Rolling for: 8/13 - Lenore Number rolled: 55 Current sturdiness total: 1753 Lenore allowed herself to be lead along by Zin to the Peace Garden. She was overwhelmed by her friend's energy - was it even possible for one person to contain so much joy? Lenore simply couldn't comprehend it, but nevertheless, a small smile threatened to creep across her features. Something about the older girl's happiness was contagious. Lead to a toolbox, Lenore picked up some nails and a hammer. She'd never used the tools before, but they seemed simple enough to navigate. Use the flat end to put the pointy things into other things. Simple.

Yesenia was hammering a nail into the wood when she heard Zin and Lenore come in to the garden. Looking up at the sound of someone who seemed able to match her in energy, she accidentally slammed the hammer on her thumb. The braided girl whimpered to herself, mourning her digit, but luckily nothing was broken or bleeding.

Rolling for: 8/13 - Zinnia Number rolled: 76 Current sturdiness total: 1900 Zin held up the other end of the board that Lenore was nailing and pounded her own nails in. This, at least, was something that she could do properly. The worst that could happen (excluding gruesome injuries) would be that she nailed the board on crooked. Compared to her failures in horse riding and hair cutting, this would be a walk in the park. Best of all, she had Lenore by her side to help her out. She valued her quiet friend a lot. Sure, she may not say a whole lot, but she was a great listener and was unusually tolerant of Zin's antics. Plus, Zin had made it her personal mission to make Lenore smile more. "Isn't it refreshing to be working hard in the sun after hanging out in the library?" she asked as she hammered another nail in. "Gotta exercise both the mind and the body, that's what I've heard, anyway. Plus, exercise always gives me lots of energy." She grinned.

That break turned out a little longer than she had expected but she felt a lot better. Their little group was still together, though a lot farther down than they had been. But this was what Zin wanted to do, and Lenore supposed that would suffice. "I guess." She shrugged lightly before pounding another nail into the wood. "I think I probably get enough exercise whenever I make the king of the jerks angry, though. Which is whenever we see each other for the most part." She gave Zin a blank look. "And isn't physical exertion supposed to take energy? I think you may have confused the process." She remarked dryly.

She sounded rather concerned. No one in the compound, king or not, had the right to be a jerk-- especially not to her friends! The young trainee continued to hammer nails in until the board looked secure, though most of her attention was on Lenore so it wasn't the prettiest job ever.

Lenore put down her hammer and sighed. "It's Santos. You know, Santos Baldy? He's the king of the jerks, at least as far as I'm concerned. Who knows? Maybe there's an even bigger jerk out there." She shrugged lightly. "I doubt it, though."

"And I'm wonderful." Jeong-jae grinned, playing dumb to Shakuntala's obvious lead in. He enjoyed seeing others try to remember what differences they could see between the twins, mainly to take as notes for how to improve their game of confusing people. He noted she was looking away from him and still seemed a bit uncomfortable. Her attempt at a smile had been pretty cute despite being a little short lived. Taking pity on the awkward girl, he moved to hold the next piece of wood up for her.
"I'm Jeong-jae. So, do you like gardens? I know you like animals." Oops he hadn't meant to imply anything by that. Er...

"Hey Rennati, welcome back." Hwan joined in Larisa's greeting as the other blonde rejoined them. It was nice that she'd brought more wood for them though he hoped she wasn't pushing herself too hard. Out of the two girls, Rennati was the more clumsy and worrisome with her strange accident prone nature. Larisa was unlucky but she didn't ever get into real trouble or danger.
"You doing okay? Are you too-" Doctor Hwan stepped closer into her personal bubble, ignoring any protests, and put a hand to her forehead to test the temperature. "Yep, it's confirmed, you are HOT." The boy laughed, did he ever take anything seriously? He couldn't help but enjoy playing around and flirting, especially when the alternative (playing with wire) was not exactly thrilling. He couldn't wait to start actually planting things.
"But really, take it easy. Risa and I can take you back if you feel faint again." He removed the hand and looked to the freckled treeclimbing monkey of a girl with shared concern.

"Santos...?" Zin said, pausing to give Lenore her full attention. She hadn't expected to hear that an adult-- and worse, a higher-up. "What did he do? Did he yell at you?" Normally, she would have offered to give her friend's antagonist a stern talking-to, but she couldn't see that going down well with Santos. No, he'd probably yell right back, and then give her some sort of punishment, like running around the compound until she fell down from sheer exhaustion. No, that wouldn't do at all. But she'd offer whatever comfort she could.

Lenore regarded Zin with a blank look. "He yells at everyone. Of course he yelled at me." She sighed, casting her gaze at the ground. "It's not even the yelling that made me mad. It was something else. I don't even know why it made me mad. But I yelled - well, talked - back and got saddled with 30 laps." She paused, then looked back at Zin. "I didn't make it, if you're wondering. I don't know how many I did. I stopped counting after 15. It doesn't really matter, though. I just really don't like him."

"Yeah, I don't think anyone likes him," she said with a rather weak laugh. "I think it's supposed to make us build character. Or muscles. It's pretty silly either way, though..." She lowered her voice conspiratorially, not wanting to be overheard criticizing Santos's discipline methods. "I'm sorry that he did that to you, though. That was really unfair. He definitely is the king of jerks." She chuckled quietly again, emboldened by her own criticism of the man. "15 laps is really good, though! You're amazing. I don't even know if I could do that many." That was a lie-- she knew that she could do 15 laps, because she'd had to run that many with the rest of the trainees during a particularly cruel training session.

The girl blinked at his sudden segue, trying to work out whatever he meant before her face fell into a lopsided twist of her lips and a scratch to the side of her neck. Having a good opinion about yourself is fine, right? And so is thinking yourself wonderful...? She didn't press the matter at all; everyone was there own person and so and so.
"Ah, t-that's great... to know?" she replied with small smile. internally rooting for the male to keep up his confidence in himself.
While the implication in his addition to the question about animals did have her shift a smidgen, she bowed her head to hide her slight embarrassment again and moved forward to join him in putting in a board. Upon picking one up and stabbing it into the soil, she nodded her head. "F-flowers are nice..." Shakuntala replied with a slightly wistful smile. They weren't horses, but they had a beauty all on their own.
