Joy blossomed in Auriga as she saw Gunn approach. Gunn was the kind of super tough senshi that ran boot camps. Surely, she would be okay if the Senshi of Wildfire was near. "Hi, Gunn," she said, as if they were meeting for coffee, instead of fighting very real danger. The redheaded eternal senshi immediately gave her a command, pointing in the direction of an unfamiliar corrupted senshi. "Tiny, right. I can do it," she said, nodding once.

The sheer mask that covered her lips puffed inward with her heated breaths. What was the best way to approach? Bright blue eyes glanced around briefly, and then Maggie made a rather impulsive decision -- why not tackle him? Her attack required pretty close proximity. No more time to waste. It was GO TIME. Time to AMP UP.

Her breath picked up and then her boots picked up with it, scuffing across the ground. With a grunt, Auriga threw the full weight of her sprinting body at Kerberos, attempting to lock her arms around his neck from behind and bring him down to the ground.

THIS. IS. SP--Destiny City?

Trash. Of all things, fat and the chaos of battle had forced her to end up in trash. This was embarrassing, revolting, and just all and all disgusting... Though, she had to admit, landing here was better than cement, concrete or pavement. And it was definitely better than being caught up there in the midst of the fighting and fires.

A bag of refuse had burst open on impact, pelting her with food waste and other things she would really rather not recognise. This was revolting and just...ugh. But at least she didn't land on her side or the splinted ankle. The mountain of trashbags beneath her had even managed to absorb enough of the impact that she wasn't hurt any worse... though she would most definitely need a a new splint and ten or fifteen showers to remove the residue of filth which now covered her.

'I swear, I will not be volunteering for another mission like this again. I seriously hope this gets out of my uniform.' She grumbled to herself, still not really used to this whole powering up business, and trying to distract herself from the sheer ick factor as she extricated herself from the mess she had gotten herself into.

She hadn't heard the girl calling out to her as she jumped off the edge of the roof, and was so preoccupied with assessing her own state – physically, about the same as she was before jumping off the roof, hurting like hell but able to move and function, though seriously more than a little grossed out by the whole, you know trash thing. So all in all, she could have been better, but she could also be a whole lot worse. - that she couldn't really be bothered with what was going on around her.

It wasn't until she heard the other asking f she would be ok to get back in the fray that she realised that she had been followed.

'Huh?' An intelligent response that one. And not at all like the usually calm and collected girl. She shook her head as though to clear out any lingering fuzziness... perhaps she might have hit her head at some point, making her responses slower and far from the norm. She would definitely be visiting the hospital after this... just to be absolute sure, and safe. 'Oh, uh... I'm Empressite.'

She reached a hand to check her head for any lumps lacerations or contusions. ' I think we're about done here. I mean, the roof could implode at any minute. Time to get out of here while the getting's good. And supposedly there is a secondary staging location... I was just planning to try and make my way there --- in one piece if possible. You are more then welcome to come along if you don't mind walking with a cripple.'

Empressite. The name sounded fancy. And it would appear that this girl was more with-it on this mission than she was. Another embarrassment for the forever lieutenant. A banana peel was draped over her fingertips. Kyanite wrinkled her nose and then flicked it away, where it landed with a splat. "Ew, gross," she said, mostly to herself. Then she directed her attention back to the other Negaverse agent in front of her.

Purple eyes glanced up in the direction of the flaming roof. "I hate magic," she said. "You never know what terrible thing is going to come shooting out of their hands. No one should have power like that. With us, it's more... honest, I don't know." Kyanite pointed at the burning building. "Civilians could be hurt by that. So much for the noble purpose of the senshi, right?" Her timing on this conversation was probably not the best. Senshi and Negaverse agents alike were still scuffling, but Kyanite felt relatively safe to breathe for now -- at least for a moment.

Plus, it was hard for her to turn down any flavor of socialization with other Negas.

Kyanite stood up, peeling a twinkie wrapper stuck to her boot off and patting off her uniform. "I'm supposed to be a guard..." she said, gazing back behind them. "But if everyone else is going to the next location, then it should be fine. We can probably secure the area." She sounded less than convinced, but at least moving to a new place would give her enough time to wrap her head around this again.

Plus, Empressite spoke like she knew what was going on, which was better than Kyanite. "Do you need a hand? I can help," she said, stepping toward the other girl in offer.

There were none here that could predict the future though if there was, Buddingtonite would have owed that person a huge favor. He had hoped that Lyceum's efforts would have spared both of them from the Eternal's attack, and yet, she opened her mouth. She gave him away.

The origami papers finally fell, though too late to do much good, and Buddingtonite glared back at the Polaris page, a sneer on his lips and he made his way towards her when she looked to be trying to take off with Jade. "That's it, Missy. No more sharing intel time for the two of us- DON'T YOU DARE TAKE HER!"

Calm down, imbecile. Don't let them see beneath the mask.

He stepped forward but the Jupiter knight's magic prevented both of them from tumbling over and the arrival of the new lieutenant was lost on Buddingtonite completely as he heard Ganymede's words of warning, followed by the words he was dreading hearing. And he didn't need to look back at her to know exactly where that attack was going.

"Well, s**t."

It was an understatement, to say the least, and given that he knew exactly what kind of hell was coming, one would think he was handling it quite well. Perhaps it was the last remnants of the drugs that lingered in his bloodstream that helped, or maybe just the soul-crushing realization that fighting back or fleeing was useless and that made the impending pain easier to accept. Either way, he was too close to dodge, and he tried to take the blow with quiet dignity.

Don't scream? Fool. They've already seen you pelted with an egg. Succumbing to senshi magic is a step up, is it not?

The blast hit and its first wave was already in effect, though that wasn't the stage that Buddingtonite feared. No, the first wave was the best, something familiar that he was used to... he found himself in this state on an almost daily basis, though there was still something uncomfortable about the sensation being triggered against his will and there not have been a cause in clear sight that got to him. He began to pant and the way he held himself made it clear that he was affected, but the window he had to speak coherently before the flames took over his form was closing rapidly. Before that happened, he had to get the word out... in a taunt movement of his arm, he grabbed his communication crystal and shouted into it, for all of the Negaverse officers and those in disguise to hear.

"Alright, folks... show's over! Negaverse, scatter!"

The flames would be coming any time now, and he was content to just lay on the ground and let them consume him. Maybe he could hold their attention long enough to where his officers could escape, and he fell to his knees when he felt the first lick of flames spurting through his veins. Best be close to the ground when they hit hard, he reminded himself, and he tried to use the last remaining moments of functionality thinking of a way to get Jade out of there. Perhaps the lieutenant could assist in the matter... but then his mind shot to Serpentine, knowing full well that his friend would not abandon him.

Always being the rescued, never the rescuer. Pathetic.

The flames were starting, and he called off his youma. It took a fraction of a second for the crab to relax its hold on his side and disappear into a cloud of black and violet smoke. With no more crab-youma to weigh him down, he looked towards his friend, appalled at the sight of his own struggles. His hat flown off and his hands were digging into his hair, screaming, as if something was wrong. What in the hell. "Serpentine..."

Then, he reached into the fire, and another senshi's attack had struck him, and at that moment, just as Ganymede's flames burned hotter and hotter, he pushed himself to his feet, ignoring the senshi and knights around him and making his way towards his friend.

This isn't right. You're the one suppose to be helping me! You're the strong one... you're the one suppose to drag me out! Now is not the time for role reversal!

The flames hurt. They hurt so much. The pain medication did nothing, but still he continued to press forward. Serpentine had pulled him out of countless situations, had carried him to the hospital, guarded his home when he was threatened, helped him when others abandoned him. He should have stayed still and tried to will away the pain, he should have focused on getting Jade out of there. But his mind was set on one thing and one thing only.

Save Serpentine. ******** everyone else.

He grabbed his friend, just barely clinging to his back, and with as much strength as he could muster, he teleported away, with thrashing general in hand. He had done his part... he would not give his life, nor Serpentine's to the Negaverse.

She clenched her jaw, the wooden mace in her hand creaking as she looked up at the falling building. She felt auras moving out of the area as people fled the breaking building and the flames. "Tshk..." she gritted her teeth. Andronicus did not want to run away. She didn't want to retreat. She wanted to help, she wanted to fight.

But Acubens was right.

"God damnit.." She gave a nod and followed the Super Senshi out of the area.

Erythrite figured it was about time to blow this popsicle stand, and so the pink-haired girl went running for the edge. Things were going really bad, really fast, between the fire and Buddingtonite's call for retreat, and it was pretty obvious that it was time to move out. It was a careful sort of thing, since she was in her civilian form and therefore eminently more breakable, but she got down from the roof.

It was time to go the ******** home, really.

[[Erythrite out]]

Kerberos really wished he'd moved faster. Sure, Serpentine had probably been the target of the attack - but he was close enough that suddenly he could feel darkness bearing down on him, and he completely froze in place, fire or no fire.

There was something about catching glimpses of what looked like <******** Cthulhu risen from R'lyeh at the corners of your vision that was a particularly blinding sort of terror.

He would be ashamed of it later, but when a weight suddenly crashed into his back, he screamed. Arms wrapping aorund his neck, for a moment, were tentacles and oh god some senshi had straight-up summoned an Old One and they were all ********> - until he realized that no, it was probably not, and his hands came up to grasp at whatever was around his neck. Warm, very human arms.

It was pretty rare that being attacked by a Senshi was a relief, and it didn't matter much when he was definitely losing his footing, but he dug his nails into her arms.

"Get off!" He growled, pissed at himself for having missed her initial assault. At least the visions of Lovecraftian terror were starting to recede, which meant he could focus on reality.

Mintaka watched the negaverse general leave her, hands shaking as she lived another day and breathed out a sigh of relief. She moved over to Sarras again, touching his arm gently to announce she was still there with him. With the building burning around them, she didn't have the urge to stay any longer then normal. Her affinity for paper shapes would do no good in fire after all.

"Sarras...." She coughed as smoke started to rise. "We've done all we can here? We gotta move out..." Or else they were going to burn to ashes.

She rubbed at her face, eyes starting to water from the smoke stench. Is this what being a senshi was? It was terrible, so terrible and dangerous.

It was nothing short of chaos, but it was to be expected given the circumstances. Sarras wasn't sure what the Negaverse' grand scheme was or what their goal was for tonight, but he was certain that by the look on Buddingtonite's face that whatever operation was going on wasn't running as smoothly as he had hoped, not doubt thanks to the fire and the others that had managed to surround the two generals.

He had taken that time to try and get to Jade, grateful to hear that she was alive though curious what the extravagant display was for... well, besides to chew the scenery and make an a*****e of himself. He would have loved to have seen the man burn, along with the building, but now that attention was pulled away from his, Sarras' mind went back to Jade. He had to get her out of there...

He heard Mintaka shout to him and he saw the wisdom in her advice, even when he brought an arm over his mouth and shouted back to her before proceeding. "Go on! You did good, Mintaka! I gotta get her out of here..."

Were there still other hostages? Maybe. He didn't really care- they weren't important to him, nor Richard, and unfortunately the Moreau were a rather selfish bunch. He shouted as he made his approach, making it clear that he was willing to strike down the kindly medic if he sought to rip Jade from Lyceum's grasp. "Get lost! Only place this lady's goin' is a hospital!"

Tsui wasn't sure what to make with some of the flowery speech he provided, but she had an idea what he was getting at. The entire city being down and only a small fraction of the Negaverse was gathered in this one spot making a scene? Thraen had obviously seen through their game, and he rose a good point that there were plenty of their own allies there that could take of the situation.

Proof of that was the double-whammy on a familiar snake-themed general from Kallichore and Europa, and Ganymede's successful assault against the other glad in dark greys and red. They seemed to have the situation under control, which made Tsui's decision an easy one to make.

"Alright, you made your point, but really, shouldn't we be trying to do a better job about our public image?" Tsui asked, even as she followed after the senshi of Gardens. "We shouldn't really be sacrificing a few lives, period, but whatever. The others should be able to take care of it... let's go, before who knows what they really got planned rears its ugly head."

[Exit - Tsui]

She watched with a shudder as the other female flicked away the banana peel.

Empressite didn't really know what she was doing, or what was going on. At least not more than anyone else. But she listened, and was logical, so it only seemed like she she was in control. She was barely keeping it together. This was her first experience with the war. It was terrifying, knowing the chaos and the lengths to which the other side would go, and their utter carelessness and disregard for civilian life and possible casualties.

'If this is what magic is... if this is what the other side is like, I completely agree.' Whether or not this was the best time for conversation, Empressite was glad for the distraction it caused. It got her mind off the beating she took, and the pain that the meds didn't lessen. She opened her mouth to say something but the communicator activated, and the withdraw order came.

'Well, that's that. I guess we should get going.' She eyed the proffered hand. In normal circumstances, she would brush aside the offer of help, and in her stubborn pride, she would get up on her own and hobble to the meeting place on her own. But damnit, she hurt, she was kind of dealing with the emotional backlash of what was going on, and she just needed the human contact, even if it was simply holding the hand of another using it as a support.

'I was supposed to be a hostage-holder, but it all went to hell. I failed. Beyond terribly. I just... I can't wait for this whole debacle to be over.'

Lyceum suddenly found herself moving forward when she wanted to moving backward after she had been struck by a green light and told to stop moving. She looked very alarmed and pulled the girl (Jade) more tightly in her arms. She stopped feeling frantic and looked behind her realizing she was very close to the edge of the roof, too close and felt momentarily relieved, though she wasn't sure how long whatever he did last so she looked at him warily, feeling like a sitting duck.

Ganymede was calling for her to take the girl to the guardian cat that had been tossed of the roof, as if she knew where the cat was. She frowned, then found Buddy advancing on her looking threatening, though his words confused her greatly. It was almost like he cared, even though a moment ago he was supposedly pulling her starseed out. Then Buddy was attacked and she jumped even more freaked, she couldnt watch that, it was too much.

She turned intent to run forgetting for a moment the magic of the green light, intent on running only to be addressed by an enemy claiming to be a doctor and saying he'd take care of the girl. He even reached her, trying to take her away, but Lyceum was having none of it. She pulled back, "Get away from us. I'm not letting you take her. For all I know this is another trick. GET AWAY," she shouted clinging to the girl (Jade) and backing away.

A shout from a red headed knight, gained her attention and for once that night she approved of something someone had done or said. She quickly moved toward him and away from the officer whispering to the girl, "I don't know if you can hear me, but your safe. I won't let any of them hurt you, even if its cost me. I'll get you out of here."

Flames on the roof burned and caused smoke and made this a lot more difficult. It was hard not to be distracted. Maia hadn't even caught the hostages pleas, but she did catch the scream she emitted as an attack, not her own went soaring at the pair. If she stopped her attack, its full potiental wouldnt be utilized and halving it wasn't on her agenda, especially with the hostage ducking away from the captain momentarily.

The other moved to grab her and Maia's notes headed for the pair, but Maia didn't get to see whether or not the attack was effective because she found a shoulder being rammed into her back. She was knocked easily onto the ground with force Cinnabar used. She rolled, trying to ignore the pain and jumping to her feet.

She glared at the girl and went after her fist balled and ready to swing, though at the last moment she opened her hand intending to grab the girl's collar and give her a stomach full of knee.

Apprehension overtook him as Valhalla arrived close to where Lyceum held the civilian Jade in her arms, obviously in distress. A young looking Negaverse officer had approached them, as well as a knight he recalled vaguely from when they’d all been on Mars.

The two knights were clearly trying to protect the civilian, and the Negaverse officer…? Well, he had some questions for him.

Ready to use his magic once more to reverse movement, Valhalla leapt up behind the self-proclaimed doctor, grabbing him by the back of his collar. “Thanks, but we’ve got it covered,” he told him, although he didn’t seem very intent on letting the young man escape so easily. “What are you guys doing here, anyway? And with hostages??” he asked, hoping that, now that he had the officer under control, the other two knights would calm down and focus on getting the civilian to safety.

"Check to make sure she's really alive," he requested of the Cosmos knight, keeping a firm grip on the officer. "If that wasn't her starseed that was thrown... see if you can wake her up. If she's being threatened by the Negaverse, she should at least know she'll be safe now. I can't imagine Zinkenite would allow civilians to be used like this... it might be a sign that the Negaverse is breaking apart..." he paused, glancing down at the young officer he had scruffed. "Well? Are you working on your own, or are you following the orders of a General-King?"

Dammit. Dammit dammit dammit merde' dammit. This was certainly not looking well for Tsavolite, and he absolutely knew it. He froze up when the scruff of his jacket was tugged and held captive, knowing he was outnumberd and out muscled should he try and escape. Looking helplessly to the still playing dead operative, he sighed, shaking his head.

"Nothing I can do for you now, ma chere', je suis desole',"
he mumbled, before squaring his shoulders as best he could and defiantly sneering at the Knight that had him in his clutches. "Too bad for you, tu désolé bâtard. I didn't even KNOW about this operation, I was on my rounds and stumbled upon it when I heard a general calling. I only came to offer medical backup."

He eyed the other knight with lighter clothing warily, wondering if he was going to get beaten up anyways. How would he explain that to HR or his boss at the hospital if he came to work with bruises the next day? That wouldn't be pretty at all. And what of the senshi that had burned the general so badly? That had been downright terrifying and he'd needed every ounce of self control he had not to either run screaming away from the flames, or desperately trying to put them out. THAT certainly hadn't worked out well as the General hadn't even noticed his attempt to help the hostage situation, AND he'd gotten landed stuck here like this. He groaned softly, muttering to himself as his inner cowardice bubbled to the surface imagining all the things that could happen to him.

"Merde, merde, merde, what if I die? What if they purify me? I don't want to die looking like an idiot in iredescent clothes with a tiara on my head! Oh gods above, don't let them do that. St.Paul, I promise to come to church more often if you get me out of this, I just wanted to be a good doctor, merde. Saints deliver me, my heart can't take this, if I live through this I need to talk to one of the other doctors at work about getting on some anxiety medication because this job is too stressful already, even if I DO survive, I'm just going to die due to a blockage of the lungs from all this smoke and tar anyways,"
he muttered frantically to himself, making a small sign of the cross before plucking a few grey strands of hair and nervously wrapping them around his fingers.

Back and forth, back and forth, in and out, tempering his breathing and anxiety levels.

It was a little startling, and a lot gratifying, that the eternal senshi was so surprised by her attack that she actually fell to the ground before springing back up. The look in her eyes after was no less gratifying, but it did promise a lot more pain in her future... Cinnabar grinned back at her, her lips pulled back from her teeth in a grimace of pain, invitation and challenge. At this point, the lieutenant was ready to die, almost assumed such would be her end because there was no way she was leaving until Schörl and Galena were safely away... which meant she had a very irate eternal to deal with and everyone had seen how well she'd dealt with the first one.

Seeking only to buy time and keep the attention on her, Cinnabar went into full defense mode, dodging any attempts to grab hold of her or deliver any kind of blow. Without the distraction of attempting to attack in kind, she was far better able to avoid the reaches for her, even with the senshi's boosted speed.

"What's wrong, senshi b***h?" She panted as her grin widened. "Did I get dirt on that pretty dress of yours? If you don't like the heat, stay off the rooftop, eh? Come on, you'll have to do better than that if you want to take me out."

The movements of the lieutenants feet kept the senshi between herself and Schörl, hopefully with her back to the captain... If the idiot stayed in that position, she was going to be in for quite a surprise when the blonde got moving again.

The cat was… crying? Cybele had never seen anything like that before. Her surprise was nothing compared to her anger, though. Who would even do that? The Negaverse, apparently. She’d seen them kill people for no reason and smile about it, but this hit her almost as hard. She was just a cat! What was she going to do? Things over there must have been even worse than she thought. At least there were already plenty of senshi over there to fight. She could help the cat, maybe. As Cora rubbed up against her leg, she ran her hand over her fur, then reached over to scratch behind her ears. That was the way to make cats happy, usually, and it was almost reflex to her at this point, but it didn’t seem like nearly enough now.

It’s okay, she wanted to say. Everything’s going to be okay.

Even she couldn't bring herself to say something that blatantly false. “I’m sorry,” she whispered instead. Carefully, she wrapped her arms around the cat in the closest thing to a hug she could manage. From across the roof, she heard people starting to talk about the hostage being alive. That probably brought more comfort than anything Cybele could say. “At least you’re safe now.” That comment wasn’t the truest, either, with the battle still raging and the fire still blazing, getting bad enough that people were starting to leave, even, but for a second, at least, they could pretend.

Leaving… that was what they were going to have to do. The heat there was getting unbearable and it was only a matter of time before the flames reached them. She stood. “We can’t stay here,” she murmured, taking one step and then another towards the edge of the building. It was not what she wanted to do at all, but it beat being burnt to a crisp. People had been jumping on and off the roof all night, and had been fine, right? When she reached the edge and glanced down, though, she forgot all logic and froze. “It’s so far down…”

LittleLilyKitty
Cybele is not the best at comfort but she's trying!
