Bit by bit, little by little, Mathias was becoming more at ease. While Jove seemed to have made things more complicated then before, the wolpertinger was just willing to accept things however they currently were. There was really no need to put a label on it, right? He was sure that the things they did were normal between friends, but as Mathias had never had such a close friend before, well, there was really no way for him to be sure. So he relaxed, and a much more genuine smile was able to play along his lips before he found himself burying his face against Jove, for just a moment, before the other boil was pulling away just enough that they could look at each other. "You still smell like my room." He probably shouldn't have sounded quite so proud of that fact, but of course, that wasn't the question that Jove was asking with those small sounds in his throat or the wag of his tail. "Am feeling less of mortification now yes, danke." He had another quick glance around, making sure they were still alone. "But uhhhhh, how long is proper for hugging?" He asked, completely unsure of when to stop this.

Freya grabbed the other handle and squeezed as hard as she could, letting out a violent grunt until the machine gave them their results. "Look, we are close together!" She seemed to feel victorious that their numbers matched so well, despite the game telling them otherwise. She made her own rules.

Kettil made a bit of a face at the tester when the results came up. If only because Clammy was quite an unpleasant descriptor.
Then Freya made it all better and he was smiling again, "Yeah! We are pretty close. Because we're awesome."
Awesome Clams.
Kettil just pretty much draped an arm around Freya's waist and began to pull her away from the tester with a small humming sound that soon lapsed into a thoughtful silence.
Ah! Yes, there was a band and other things going on, "Let's go dance~?"

Freya was loathe to leave the machine, because it was kind of like a gun, and she was shaking the handle and making pewpew sounds in the hopes she would win a prize. But eventually he got her away from it, and she wrapped around him again. "Ja, dancing! I can't be as crazy dancing as usual because this outfit is very precarious okays, but I am so ready teh dance!" The asymmetrical high collar jiggled as she walked.

Watching the ghoul take the pom puff a small smirk spread his lips, though it lasted only a single moment before vanishing. When given her name again the boil repeated it back, rolling it a bit on his tongue, "Agsilved." He was glad unlike most the ghoul seemed to be a reasonable one, one that realized he wouldn't remember her name from a single meeting, even if they passed one another in the hall.
The dorms. Zaire's thoughts turned to perhaps finding the dragons and peeking inside. It wouldn't hurt to have another place to wander around and it would keep him from boredom and simply visiting the maul.
While the dragon might not have viewed herself as dressed up, Zaire's eyes were busy wandering taking in all the gems and chains with a few curious blinks. Was she meeting someone? A date? She wasn't a bad-looking ghoul, nice enough if not sarcastic, so he didn't doubt her date-ability. As Agsil continued to chatter at him Zaire took in a few more puff's, chomping away as he stared blankly to the ghoul. When she glanced towards obstacle course, he noticed, along with the certain look she had given it. Nope. Not for him, he didn't see the appeal, though spectating might not be so bad. "Could be entertaining to watch." His counter was given on a shrug and barely gotten out before he had started to lick at his fingers.
When she inquired about his own plans he simply shrugged and motioned to the food, "this, though I was just heading out when I noticed everyone heading this way." He admitted, with no regret. Sometimes following the crowd paid off, it got him snacks after all. "Probably dance or...go back to the pool.." A sort of growl was given as he peered towards the dance floor, one that nearly sounded excited. He couldn't help but be a little entranced by the booms of the bass. Peering to the violet orbs of the dragon he leaned coolly against the table then sighed, "unless I find something better to do, I might end up back in my doom."
---------------------------------- "Need assistance then, lass?"
Lute's eyes had somehow managed to shut, the ghoul looking like a lost scarelin and tucked tight to the wall when Neith's voice rang out. Rosy pink orbs quickly snapped open at the call however, a wash of relief shining brightly into them. Peering towards the flexed wing Lute smiled small, but gratefully for the gesture. The makeshift barrier pleased the little monster ghoul far more than she would admit. Tucking closer to the larger boil Lute moved with him, glancing to the decor as Neith did.
"Oh? W-well..maybe you have a point, I-im not sure...but it looks pleasing right?..." Lute blushed softly, her hand shifting up to play with the bow in her hair before her gaze caught on his cross armed posture. Was he mad, bored, confused even? It was hard to tell with the boil, though Lute had noticed this long before tonight, Neith was just a curious creature. But that was one of the reasons she keep hanging out with him, the mystery. "Well t-this is your first time celebrating-g, maybe if we wander around m-more it might make more sense.." She offered on a little smile, hands falling to her sides to swing. Or he could get bored and they could go away from the crowd, that, that would be nice too.
Following the motion of Neith's nod, Lute landed on the game sign. It looked kind of interesting and honestly she didn't want to go near the food. Not because it smelled awful or that she was to shy to eat in front of Neith or anything but more because her stomach was still nervous and she didn't want to barf. That would be a horrible sight and most embarrassing, shaking her head to rid the thought the ghoul tucked a little closer to Neith as they walked. The comfort of another body helping calm her. "Let's try-y..the game." Lute's tone picked up, though it likely wasn't clear to her companion for the evening she was trying to force herself to cheer up so she wouldn't spoil his time.
---------------------------------- Going with the pull he curls his fingers around Rosy's waist not minding the change at all. "Don't like hand holding?" He teases, though a curious brow is lifted. Plans for after the party? Spinar gave a thoughtful hum and used his free hand to scratch under his chin.
Nothing came to mind really and so he simply shrugged, "not sure yet, why you have something in mind?" Watching her part to sit on the table he followed, before the pat and took a seat next to her. Silently he awaited an answer, now curious as to if she did have plans for after the event.

Rosy smiles as she gives a small nod "I might have something in mind, just you and I." she looks over at him, then looks away as her cheeks darken "Me coming over...maybe staying..." she didn't go much further, her eyes now watching the participants. Her cheeks darken, which gave away the fact she had a bit planned for them both.
"Its really up to you, I kind of wanted to treat you since you been treating me." she wanted him to see how special he was to her. Dinner made by her, a few other treats, just them both. Nothing could go wrong.
Reaching her fingers towards his, she slipped her hand under his to hold it. She did it on purpose to show him she actually enjoyed holding his hand.

He couldn't figure out why she was still holding his hand, especially since Xavier was relatively certain that his hand was unappealingly sweaty from nerves. He gave Helmut a slightly anxious look, but she seemed unabashed by his rather ridiculous presence.
"Yes, erm," said Xavier, as she towed him across the room. "Yes, food is - is good, I do rather like food, I must admit - "
But whatever Xavier's interest in food, it was clear that Helmut's was vastly different. He hadn't even finished glancing over the food in the baskets before she'd devoured hers - minus the basket - looking quite pleased with herself.
Xavier stared at her. Then he reached for his own basket tentatively, tucking his fingers around the top.
"Sha...shall I just take this, erm...over to a table, then..." he said weakly.

Wait, he smelled like... The resulting head tilt was accompanied by a tail wag, Mathias sounded truly pleased by that observation. Jove wasn't exactly sure why, it didn't occur to him that it might be a sign of ownership and possession. Perhaps it reminded Matty of his room? It was a guilty pleasure the pup wouldn't admit to, feeling safe and loved while wrapped up in a sweater his brother had given him, a sweater that still smelled like it's former owner. And when he stayed overnight in someone else's room, his clothing always smelled different when he left, reminding him of all sorts of things long after they had happened. But as a creature with no identifying scent of his own, how was he to know the extent to which it could be used for? Then Mathias brought up another good point, that momentarily distracted him from the concept of scents. Proper duration for a hug. Jove shrugged, it was as much of a mystery to him as it was to his friend. Ren seemed to think longer was better, but restless sorts might disagree. His tail wagged again as he let go, only to headbutt Mathias on the shoulder and took a couple light steps back in the direction of the party. If his friend was okay, maybe now they could play with the minipets!

"We don't gotta dance crazy to have fun," he grinned at her as he lead her to where everyone was dancing. "Seems like a fun little shindig, huh?"
Kettil pulled Freya toward his front, closer to him. He was wearing a more formal version of his usual outfits - shirtless as always because shirts were awful.
"What'll we do with ourselves after school, hm? Think we'll keep attendin' these little dances and events?" Kettil tilted his head thoughtfully.

Helmut beamed up at her new friend, licking her lips to avoid having a bloody smile; apparently, people didn't really care for that. He took one of the baskets and she set her empty one down. "Okay! We gonna have a picnic somewhere? Or sit at the tables on the beach? Where'd'you wanna go?"" As she fired off her questions she grabbed another two baskets just in case, managing to hold onto them without letting go of his hand. There was a small part of her that believed the giant man would go running the minute she let go, and she wasn't too keen on losing a new friend and heat source.

Xavier gave Helmut a slightly wary look, a faint blush on his cheeks, but he didn't attempt to remove his hand, half because he wasn't sure if it would be rude or not and half because he was too embarrassed to try and pull away. So he stood there, towering over her, the basket in his free hand clutched against his chest as though it were some sort of life preserver.
A feather fell from his hair again and landed on the ground.
"A...anywhere's fine," said Xavier weakly. "M...maybe, um...the tables? I, erm, am not good with sitting on the g-ground..."

Freya might not have had to dance crazy to have fun, but she certainly did dance crazy anyway. Her arms were will around him, but she was shimmying violently. "Of course we will! Just because we graduates, doesn't means we won't comes teh all the parties! Did yeh knows - all of the parties out there in town, all the biggest ones, they says they gets their inspirations from what they did back when they were in school. And all the best peoples came from here!" She spun herself around, and then settled back around his shoulders. "I'll never miss a party."

Tail wagging. It was a good sign that put Mathias more at ease after what had just occurred. His hands sliding further away from the middle of Jove's back and closer to the sides, he put just a little more distance between them and smiled enough to show more teeth then just the ever present fangs. "Should spend night again sometime. You are very good friend, Jove. I have said before but vill say again. Your brother is being veird but is not big deal. Vill have to give him that...thing back soon." Not that he knew where Ren lived, or if he spent much time at the school, but maybe Jove would be able to help him out with that as well! The headbutt after Jove let the hug end was well received as one of Mathias's hands shot out and shoved the other boil in return. But what now? Mathias still didn't quite grasp the point of these social events, and scarentines day less then any other, though it seemed to be something of an important time for couples for whatever reason. Jove seemed to be heading back the way they came, and the wolpertinger followed after him. "Is okay if staying vith you here? If no other plans being made, vould not mind keeping your company for evening." Clawed hands went into the pockets of his short, knee length black pants. "If not okay then..." He shrugged. He could probably find some other way to spend the time, alone, or by finding somebody else he that he knew, however unlikely that would be considering he barely knew anybody.

In the back of her mind it did occur to her she didn't offer her nickname. To that, she only gave a shrug to herself. Curious if he would come to the similar choice others did or not. For the time being, she was amused at his lack of enthusiasm for the obstacle course. "No sense of adventure or combat?" Her voice was light, laughing as she eyed him. Was there anything he jumped for? Beyond food. There was a definite pattern she was beginning to see, though it amused her to no end if she was right on her assumptions.
Of course... she still wasn't even sure what he was. Reptile was one thing. It was more... what kind that made her curious. Perhaps could explain everything.
Their conversation continued onward before she really go the chance to ask, and he motioned to the food, making her laugh a bit. So he'd just come here by chance? Reap the rewards, at least. She lifted a brow when he mentioned going to dance--even if mentioning the pool made her skin crawl. Why anyone willingly went to water, she would never understand. Though she certainly had... a particular frame of mind when it came to water...
In the present, she lifted a brow, startled by the growl he emanated as he looked to the dance floor. Hm.... maybe there was a thing or two that got the lizard moving. "Why not leave the food and go dance then, if you're so bored?" Leave a party so soon? Even Agsil knew better than that. She smiled, fangs flashing briefly behind her dark lips. "I'll dance with you even. Could be more interesting than an obstacle course." In theory. In big theory. She cocked her head, watching him as she took a few steps towards the dance floor and the pulsating music. "Unless you have more interest in dancing alone~?"
---------------------------------- It baffled him how timid the ghoul was. Oh she was tiny, no questions there. But even someone so small should not be so... jumpy. He was at least in a position to help--or attempt to. Her obvious relief and moving in closer to him made him let out a long breath through his nose, though he otherwise showed no signs of change with her movements. Such a tiny thing... perhaps he'd made a mistake asking her here? Perhaps this was too much for her.
Lute was speaking up at least. He nodded a bit to what she was saying, pausing in his glance around the gym to watch her. Taking in the sight of the color rising in her cheeks, how she played with the bow... nervous? Still? He'd thought him standing between her and the crowd would calm her a tad. "Aye, they're not a horrid sight. Meanin's just lost tae me, I suppose." His eyes moved from her own to her hair, glancing between the light shade and the decorations. "Though they do make me think of you." He was stating a fact. Nothing more. Trying to be... friendly.
At least she seemed to be relaxing. Even if she continued to draw closer. Face impassive as ever, he kept his arms locked in front of him as he walked, though kept a slower pace to not rush her. The close proximity... was strange to him. He'd noticed most students were freely crossing distances to one another--and not just outside of the party. Halls, classes. So many seemed... so familiar with one another. So quick to touch. Yet something else he didn't comprehend. Nor was he especially quick to try and learn. Was distance so wrong?
As they approached the strange machine, he could at last make out the name and the... sign. Love-O-Meter. What now? The balrog frowned as he got into range to bend slightly and read the sign. Test what sort of... lover..? His brow knit. How exactly was a machine supposed to--- what was even the context of this? Neithan gave a snort, glancing back towards Lute. "Were you still interested in tryin' it, or should we find something' else tae occupy ourselves?"
Clearly his thoughts about space and distance was a perfect jinx.

Kettil was amused by her attempting to shimmy about in her chosen costume of the evening, but he didn't laugh at her as much as he just fondly smiled and let her move any way she wanted. He let her spin away only to be part of the force that brought her back toward him once more.
"Nothin' wrong with that, I'll be right there with you." He replied with a small shrug. Kettil enjoyed a good party or two but he also enjoyed quiet moments.
He let out a small laugh, "The way we are planning to be as a family? Everyday will be a party, Freya."
