Where it's all a blur, you are the hard line.

"Really Alessa, in a time like this your going to pick a fight with your own kind." As Miya stepped in front of her new friend her outfit changed to that of a knight. "No offense, but have you even studied politics, can you tell me how you plan to run this place? Only a weak leader chooses to fight her own subject." With that she pull out her sword and stood in a formal fighting stance.

"Instead of surrounding yourself with people only interested in power, why haven't you looked at the people taking care of their fellow Hexes. You are here going on about not considering the well being of other, yet you willingly and openly attacked Kry with little though about my safety, or Mr. Mask over there." With that she gave a nod toward Jareth. She couldn't remember his name, and he didn't speak enough for her to know what to call him.

"Instead of coming to pick a fight with us you could have gone to help with whatever happened in the cave, no you came here to pick a fight. How weak do you have to be." Her blood felt like boiling. Miya was trying her best to stay calm, she didn't want to resort to her powers. They were not monsters, and she refused to act like one herself. Evieline and Asydan would be proud off her, and she knew Tsukiko and Ryo would be.

"If you want to fight someone, you can fight me. Other wise you can back off." How else could she bridge the relationships of this place back together. People like her, it was always someone, hell for all she knew Kry was the same. No. That didn't matter, they had to work together, they have to come together...if not this will all be for nothing.

"I have someone I want to protect as well Alessa, your doing this for him right? I've heard whispers, but I can't prove anything. Please I have someone I'm trying to protect just as much as you are. Don't waste your time on petty fights when you can protect something you hold near to you."

In the disorder, you are the peace sign.

ֆ In this great length of time that has no limit or end…

The metal clanged loudly, causing Alessa to twist her body so that she would not end up off balance from Jareth's block. She was at a disadvantage, fighting in the sand with only one sword; it was times like these she wished her rapiers weren't turned to dust. It wouldn't do her any good to curse the past at this point. Growling, she tried to put some extra distance between her and Jareth, to reevaluate the situation. Then Miya had to go and step in, acting all high and mighty. Alessa ground her teeth; she absolutely hated the other girl's 'holier than thou' attitude, especially since she seemed to be a big a** hypocrite.

"Don't you start to lecture me, Miya. The one who's surrounded themselves only interested in power is Kry." Alessa spat, glaring darkly at the brunette. "Don't think for a minute at I just left others to take care of the mess. I'm helping them out, even as we speak. Do you know how much damage you've caused, how many you have injured? You willingly helped them break our defenses, Miya. After all that you've seen us do, and you choose to damn us instead!" She shouted, hair swirling about her. "You never cared a lick about the rest of us, have you? Only about Tsukiko....and how much have you really helped her! You never really tried to reach out to her, have you? Always flitting off somewhere of your own choosing...no doubt meeting with them. As flighty as a cloud, aren't you, you damned hypocrite? After all these months, and she's still the same! Still depressed and broken as the day we tried to save her!"

Taking a breath, she looked away, but never let down her guard. "Don't you dare start to lecture me about how I could've helped her. I don't know her well enough to even try, and I was trying my best as it was to mend the rest of the group. What the hell did you contribute? All you did for us was take up space, steal our resources...we've tried to welcome all, but some people clash too much for that to work." She raised her eyes to Kry. "Your fellow Hexes....don't you dare call yourself that. You, who was never a part of our academy. You don't know anything. Kry may have been the first student, but some student he was. He was always challenging us, trying to see if he was stronger than us. Haven't changed much, have you, Kry?" She shot a sharp glare at him before turning her attention back to Miya.

"I want to protect them as much as I can, but I can't do that if you guys keep doing things like this." She moved into a defensive position, but made no sign that she was going to attack. "Leave us alone. I'm willing to call it a truce for today, because we have injured to take care of. But when you come back, we won't be so forgiving."

…Even if the two of us get separated someday, I'll find you ֆ

User Image Kry was now out right pissed as Alessa commented on him about not being an actual student and only fighting for power. As he stood there strengthening his grip in his hands cracks could be heard as he tried to maintain control of himself and his powers. He had let her finish speaking and walked up in front of Miya and Jareth almost a couple feet from Alessa herself not caring about any attack she might try. He seemed to tower above her and looked down at her with fury in his eyes.

"HOW DARE YOU!" He yells at her with as he glares at the woman before him. "You come here not only attacking myself, but these two as well throwing your own one sided opinions at me thinking you are in the right and then claim I was not a student and insult me here?!" He says with a booming voice. "I not only got all A's in every class like some miss honor student, but I also was assigned to protect everyone just like your disciplinary committee that you so strongly associate yourself with. Now let me ask you, why do you think I attacked and resented you all so strongly?! What made you think YOU could protect the students?! Did your multiple failures not tell you anything or did it make you all blind to the help I and all these followers of mine did to help all your achievements become a success?!"

He had slammed a sonic pressure into the ground next to him which caused a huge hole and dust to accompany the boom that came with it. By this time most of Kry's following had made their way over to see what was going on from a safe distance. "That Student Counsel is nothing more than five people trying to keep power and you and your organization are nothing more than a bunch of cowards who can't decide how to deal with this new situation! I on the other hand have not only set up an organized village, expanded our borders, have given everyone a job they can handle, and have protected not only us who are actually in this wilderness from everything along with the hostile creatures, but all of you who are too ignorant to even think about outside dangers than those humans outside!"

He couldn't refrain from spewing off to Alessa, if anyone wanted peace for the Hexan students it was Kry and he thought they were incapable of obtaining it themselves. He didn't care if they thought of him to be a dictator, but he wouldn't allow them to ignore his being a student and a person who was trying to bring good like the stuco and D.C. With a few heavy breathes he cracks his knuckles. "Get the ******** out of our village area and don't blame these events on me. Some safety individual you turned out to be miss enforcer." He says still as pissed as ever.

Reaching forward Miya grabbed Kry's harm. She held it tightly to keep herself grounded. Looking at him with flaming eyes, she tried to hard to not let her get inside her head. She didn't stand a chance though, not when Tsukiko got pulled in.

"Don't chide me on matters that you clearly have no knowledge of." She couldn't do this, she'd promised Tsukiko. "You want to know were I've been, in a royal training to become a knight. I didn't turn my back on any of you. Tsukiko wanted a better life for me, clearly your mother never wanted better for you. Yeah, guess she took me in when everyone else gave up on me. She wanted me to have a better life. I never turned my back on anyone Alessa, and I'm not the first person you've picked a fight with. When my brother, Ryo knew a perfect plan to save Tsukiko. Guess who didn't listen to him, you didn't. You fought him for power over the crowed, you can't step down and listen to someone else."

"If it wasn't for you he wouldn't have wasted so much time to get to her!" There she was, the crack in the armor. Though it was clear this wasn't a weakness no, this was something more. The flame that once shined in Tsukiko's eyes now burned in Miya's.

"No get out of here, go order someone to make the cave stronger. Something you should have done months ago. I've tried asking people, but they are to scared to break away from your rule. Anyway I haven't seen you on the herb committee, or helping people tell poisonous plants from nonpoisonous plants. So don't lecture me on not helping when I've busted my a** just as much as anyone else here. I came here on Tsukiko's orders to make sure no one was sick. I decided to stay because I thought I could bridge a peace between us all, but know that's clearly not going to happen. Guess who's fault it is? I'll give you a hint, it's not mine."

With that brought her sword back to her scabbard. Taking a glance at Kry and Jareth she took half a step in front of them. No one was going to attack or hurt anyone. She'd be damned if that happened. She would be the peace sign that she wanted so badly to be. Tsukiko might have foresaw this, or it was a chance of luck. Her training had led her to this, and she refused to let anyone who put so much fate in her down.

In the disorder, you are the peace sign.

Jareth

Jareth thought the whole lot of them talked too much. Not that he cared to tell them so, nor did he feel like having to put the whole beach back together after his voice sunk it below the waves. He spared Miya nary a glance, but he didn't really care for the nickname.

Each one had merits. One side wanted democracy, where every voice was heard. However that side was split between two groups who thought very differently on which voices were actually heard. The other side was more simpler, to follow one leader. The strongest of them. The eldest of them. The first of them.

The labyrinth felt the tremors of Kry's wrath, heard his anger in his words and in the tension of his body. This was who he had chosen. He wasn't surprised that he conrfronted the girl head on, but he wasn't entirely comfortable his having him be completely unguarded. More out of habit, he made sure that he was just to Kry's left, just in case he had to step in front again.

He would not let his friend get hurt. At least not over something so stupid. Not to mention the young man would then groan and complain that he wouldn't have the energy to explore the cave. Jareth wasn't going to suffer that noise if he could help it. So he kept his sword out and at the ready.

Someone once told me that life was too precious to waste. . .

I should never have waited so long to do that, Nemo thought as he helped her to stand, a hand never more than a few inches away in case she felt faint. With things going from bad to worse and not a moments peace, he felt better for grabbing the instant to show her just how much he cared. He was just glad that he did it before his nerves talked him out of it. However, his cheerful outlook didn't last when he saw the cave in.

"We can't get back that w-," Nemo started to say, but a chunk of wall gave way to reveal a team of teens, mostly levitating boulders and shifting them with their abnormal strength. Hailing them warmly, the students doubled their efforts, clearing a path.

Come check out the place when you get the chance, he thought to Palian as he followed Fyte through the hole. Parts of the cave, which had one had beautiful natural skylights, now seemed like gaping ravines, all open sky and sheer stone walls. Nemo was sad to see the raw earth crumpled so.

"I hope everyone is ok," he thought in awe as they passed one of the sheer pillars.

. . . I wonder if I can return the favor.

Palian

Only when you walk the line of nothingness...

"I'll call you whatever you want me to," he chuckled in her embrace. He agreed that Tsukiko needed to reconnect with all of her friends. It was good that he need not have an imagination on how it would go, for whether the demon was present or not, he would know thanks to his close tie with Nemo. However, he felt that Tsukiko would likely want him around irregardless. It was also not a surprise that she would want to talk with him about current events in more detail. Palian's return was rather unexpected, this he understood and easily agreed to.

When she asked his preference, he had to think about it a moment longer than anything else so far. This was only so, because he was able to see her for who she was. So to focus on just that small interchangable detail took a little more consentration than he was used to.

"It is impossible to say, " he admitted peeved at his own indecision. " The brown is you in the way that you are human. The silver is you in that you are also something more than human." It also pleased him that it complimented his own hair quite well, but he didn't feel that needed stating.

Then the disc appeared and the stage changed yet again. Palian looked at the invitation, curious to see more of their current sanctuary. At the same time Nemo confirmed that the cave in was being cleared. One less thing to worry about.

"I would not doubt them for a minute," he stated matter of factly as he pulled away enough to look Tsukiko full on. Then he smiled and it was bright and devoid of any misgivings. "Nor should you."

The sand disc, having done its duty, broke apart and became just another streak of sand on the beach. Taking Tsukiko's hand in his, Palian began to walk with the intent of exploring the island and this supposed treasure hunt. He had no real use for treasure, but adventures are always worth a bit of time.

"If and when you need me. Always," he murmured with a finality that the subject was settled.

... Can you truly understand the difference between life and death.

ֆ In this great length of time that has no limit or end…

Alessa glared coldly back at Kry, meeting his gaze head on. They hadn't changed, not since she had first met him that day so long ago. Always somehow getting on each other's nerves, but now it was more than just nerves. Now it could mean life or death...or permanent injuries, at least. She shut her eyes as Kry let out his power, so not to get sand in her eyes. As everything settled, she reopened them. "You think it was any easier for us Kry? I wasn't born with perfect control over my powers, unlike some. I had to work for it. We can't all be overpowered bastards like you." Her resentment for him surfaced, how many years had she swallowed it, turned it into her motivation for training and going to class. "And what made you think you could keep them safe, when in your wake you left so many injured! I tried my best! I did everything I could to keep them safe! But I am only one person, not over powered like you! I may not be perfect, but it's human nature to keep trying, damnit! Don't you dare try to belittle my efforts! What the hell did you do while Ace was kidnapped, or when those men tried to kidnap Nemo huh! WHERE WAS YOUR SORRY a** WHEN THERE WERE OTHERS IN DANGER RIGHT UNDER YOUR NOSE!" She roared, but had to keep in mind not to make a move from her spot. Instead she clenched her fists, so hard her knuckles turned white and her nails cut into her palms, drawing blood.

She grit her teeth as Miya spouted of her tidbit, and had to hold herself back from attacking Miya. All of these people bought they could spew out their great speech, thought they could belittle her with their holier-than-thou attitude. "Maybe you should follow your own advice, hypocrite. You don't know anything about me, so don't start mouthing off at me for things you 'have no knowledge of'. You think you're all that, trying to preach to me, playing peace maker? Well done, Miya, you've done such a good job at that, so good in fact, that I just want to kick your sorry a**. You think my mom abandoned me like yours did? My mother didn't have a choice in the matter; death has no sentimentalities for those he steals from. Don't think that my mother didn't love me, clearly yours didn't.

"You know what else? I listened to your brother! I tried to follow his advice as best as I could to save Tsukiko! I listened to his plan, I let him do as he wished! But unlike him, I had to worry about the others who were going to help! Your brother was willing to run head first into the battle, nevermind if Nemo needed cover or if anyone else involved needed guidance instead of blindly rushing in! I'm sorry if I was trying to keep the casualties to a minimum!" She was screaming now, her fury burning away inside of her. "Don't blame me for failing to save her sooner. You're no better than an angry child if you do so."

She let out a breath afterwards, but didn't stop glaring at the group. "I will listen to people and what they have to say, but they need to speak up. I've been trying to change my attitude, but clearly you wouldn't have cared, would you? You know why I'm never on the other committees helping out? Because I'm the one who needs to keep the DC and the SC from tearing each other apart. I don't help out where I will only be a hindrance to other committees, because that would only set us back. It's not my rule; I may be one of he people in charge of things, but I've never ever thought of it as 'my rule'. We're supposed to help each other. If you knew of any problems, you yourself could have come to me or the president about it, clearly you're not afraid of me. Some help you've been. So stop pushing the blame on me, so-called peace maker. You've done nothing on our side to help bridge the gap between us and Kry. I've never seen you try and speak up for him on our side, or try to convince us otherwise during open committee meetings. Probably playing hooky with Kry when we were trying to sort things out. So don't you try to play the martyr here, Miya. You're about as much to blame as I am. Now you get out of here. This isn't your area, Kry, it's ours."

With that, she turned back around, stalking back to the cave. She passed Tsukiko and Palian on her way back further into the cave, but made no motion to indicate she noticed them. Alessa made her way to the President's room, and knocked loudly. "President. We need to talk."

…Even if the two of us get separated someday, I'll find you ֆ

Forgive me for those words, I know they’re but a cliche to you

Leading their way Tsukiko let her hand hold his. She had walked the path before, so better her to lead. She figured it would give him time to adjust to their new home. She smile to herself, holding his hand in her own was enough. She would eventually change her hair back to brown, but for now she didn't mind matching the dream demon next to her.

She stayed silent on their walk, no singing or humming, not even talking. Tsukiko still felt weak, but for this moment she didn't want it to show. So as they passed the girl with such negative emotions, Tsukiko couldn't help but double over.

"Miya, I though I told you no fighting with her, why didn't you listen." The girl appeared before her gave a look of concern, but Tsukiko just sighed. Leaning her wait on Miya, not wanting to bother Palian to much.

"It's not my fault, she came looking for a fight. One day she'll realize this is all bullshit, we're going to end up killing each other anyway. So why don't we just get it over with. Someone will have to die before anyone see what we're doing isn't the best way to do things."

"Miya, you know their are better ways of doing this. I know you'll find a way." Tsukiko kissed the top of Miya's head before attempting to stand on her own legs again. "I was so dependent on my magic keeping me alive, it seems I'm not as strong as I was before."

"It's like before, strong emotion can negate your powers, and weaken you. You did to much damage to yourself these past months, please be careful. I came here to protect you, Kiki please take care of yourself."

Tsukiko smiled and patted the girl on the head. It wasn't time for this, after all they came for a treasure hunt. So Tsukiko waved her hand and had Miya's bag float to her.

"Well I have someone I want you to meet Miya, this is my friend Palian. And Palian this is my sister Miyako Sora. I adopted her after I found her alone in the woods one day. She was training back when I first met you, she's learned a lot, but has mostly caused trouble since her arrival."

But life is tiring, my feet are feeling sore.

User Image Ace had made it to a nice little clearing as he looked at one of the few holes in their little paradise to look out at the sea. It was so small no one could see it on the outside, and anyone looking out from in on the inside would only be able to get their head out. Some hand made chairs and a table sat there. It was a planned meeting spot for future meetings, but hadn't been implemented just yet. Ace sat down and pouted a bit as he still hurt, but knew the pain would eventually subside. He looked at the clone and smiled. "So! How are things going? I am pretty sure you have a lot you wanna ask or say to me about something. I mean it's not everyday you get to have a private discussion with the islands best pepper farmer!" He says jokingly aloud.

The president snaps up in his bed yawning. He had heard the voice and could only guess who it was as she pounded on his door. Opening it up he found a frustrated Alessa before him and he smiled back "Ah~ Hello! I see I am blessed with a visit from our favorite guardian... or wait, was that Kry?" He asks himself with a laugh. "How may I help you? Would you like to come in?"

User Image Kry almost blasted Alessa as she turned around. He stopped himself only glaring daggers at her. What made it worse was that even if he had wanted to he couldn't have helped save Nemo or Ace. The Committee had made it very clear they did not want his help from the get go and had without Alessa's knowing kept Kry in the dark about every situation. Even if he did have ears in the Counsil and Committee he could hear everything. Knowing these things happened in the first place made him upset and that he hurt other with his powers he didn't even give her credit for. He knew it was a possibility and so did everyone else, so if they were there then ******** them, that is their permission to take a hit for the better of the group.

He had let Alessa leave as two others started to appear, Tsukiko and her pet as he thought of. He didn't consider him a living being or worth his time. Only something that could maybe help the students even if only one.. Tsukiko it seemed. He listened in on their conversation and started to listen closer as Miya spoke. Someone will have to die is what finally set him off. How much time had he been trying to send envoys, messengers, and peace talks only to no avail as his point either was denied, or the other two groups wanted something his side wouldn't accept. He hated the thought of death for an example as there was so many more ways. He looked at Miya, but spoke to Jareth. "Stop me..." He was half accepting her offer and then spoke loudly to Miya. "So we need a death as an example?! I think that is bullshit, but if that's what you think, let's try it!" He shouts and cocks back his fist as waves made looking at Kry seem to start to blur him out. It was as if all his rage was packed in to this one punch. There would be no dodging, no blocking, no safety if he would release this. Only luck that his desperate plea to his friend before hand could stop his wrath.

Jareth

Jareth thought that the situation was finally quieting down when Alessa made her hasty retreat. She was good to get away, he thought. No point in truly causing a fight unless you intend to win. However, the fact that she was yet another attempt at hostilities was a point of contention. The Labyrinth knew that they were few in number and that they had a better chance of survival if everyone worked together. This pointless squabbling was, well, pointless. He thought that at least, given some time, the rest would come to realize this simple truth.

Then Miya spoke and he had to drop his head slightly, his version of a facepalm. Kry, who was never a patient man, reacted exactly how Jareth knew he would. Poorly. Having been so wound up from the verbal battle, he was now set and geared for a real one. Trading insults for blows and Kry never pulled his punches.

Surprisingly, Kry asked of him something he had not expected. Never had he ever heard such words, but they held the depth and wisdom that Jareth knew his leader had. They are all in this together and that means being the light, when all other lights go out.

"Peace brother," he murmured, the ground around them shaking as he sheathed his sword and stood in a meditative pose. Then with a mighty thrust of one muscled arm into the air, he forced a pillar of earth to appear at Kry's feet. With another thrust, he pushed his leader up up up into the air, almost two hundred feet high. The raw earth was not meant to be a single structure, but Jareth forced it to be stable, if a little crumbly. The theory was that Kry could not strike a deadly blow if his target was not within reach. Jareth only hoped the altitude and precarious position might help to cool Kry's head. If not, he worried that he might have to take more drastic steps.

Since the most important thing was the man now high in the air, Kry didn't pay any attention to Miya, Tsukiko or Palian. His control was only so good during these stunts, being so unstable compared to creating landscaping. Jareth wasn't about to break that concentration to trade words with people that he barely knew and didn't particularly care about. Not that he would actually speak to them, if he were so inclined to.

Captain Katanna

As mid morning brightened into a clear sunny day and the winds shifted to the east, the billowing sails of a ship came swiftly into view from around the south edge of the island. It looked like a legitimate pirate ship with its mermaid headpiece, and plank siding, portcullis's and helm. About the only thing it lacked was a jolly roger.

It drifted by the beaches where Kry and his party were located and settled in an inlet just past Ace's clearing. An anchor splashed into the waters and a small landing boat was lowered. The crew came ashore with a few crates and bags. Leading them was a smiling Katanna. Since they had arrived on the island, she cut her hair to a more practical length. That wasn't the only thing that had changed about her in the last couple months.

"Alright, you lot get this stuff back to base and start sorting it. Remember to set a third of it aside, like always. I'll let the Prez and Kry know what we'll have available to them," she instructed, as if they didn't know already. They had another successful run. No one seemed prepared to handle their firepower and often gave up without a fight. In the last month they had truly become a terror of these waters.

Tipping her hat back, Kat yawned at the sky, stretching her limbs before walking along a path that lead to the main caves. As she came upon the usual entrance, she saw the collapsed entryway which was currently being reopened by several of the students.

"What the hell's been going on now?" she exclaimed as she took in the mess. Someone must have gone off the deep end, she thought as she made her way past. Luckily, aside from a few minor tunnels collapsing and a large structural pillar cracking, most of the main cavern was still intact. Many of the students were out and about, scared and trying to organize themselves. A few were hurt, but otherwise safe.

It took her little time to get to where the president held residence, a room that connected to one of the main meeting caverns. Poor thing, she thought, he never gets any peace. Then again, it was his fault for having his room be so close to where he also worked. However, it seemed that he was already in a meeting, with the DC captain no less. No matter, she had business that was of a more sensitive nature. It took priority to minor squabbles.

"Hey Prez, just wanted to let you know we are ashore. Have some perishables and some essentials for ya," she stated over the top of the other girl's head. " When we are ready, we'll bring it up." Message sent, Kat turned and left without another word. She did have other pressing business after all.

Heading in the other direction, Kat then went on her way towards Kry's encampment. Because it would have been a headache to work her way through the Labyrinth, she had to credit Jareth his ingenuity, Kat had to go back out to the beach and follow it the long way around.

As she went along, she pulled out one of her most treasured toys, a battered old cell that the tecnopaths had tinkered with. Only a select few had these devices, powered by either modified batteries or themselves. Clicking the keys with practiced ease, she sent a text before pocketing the cell once more.

Hey Ace, made it back safe. I brought you a new toy. ;D

User Image Ace was gonna start talking until he felt a buzz in his left jeans pocket. Not many people even had phones anymore and Ace was one of the lucky few, in fact it was only reserved to Kat, himself, a few techno paths, and a couple others not known to Ace. Mostly due to the need of battery power, link being used through the technopaths so as to not gain unwanted attention, and the devices were hard to come by. It was one of the few things that kept him sane as he hated island life. He thought modernization was way better and he hated that he couldn't have more technology where he was. He bared with it and Kat helped him out a lot when she came back, but he always hated seeing her go. He looked at the message and excitement could be seen across his face as he clicked back Meet me at the soon to be student counsel room, I can't wait to meet up, it's been too long. I thought you were gonna be out at sea longer? Did something come up? is what he responded with and put the phone on the table. He knew it would take her a few minutes to reach him probably so he kept it out in case she replied. He looked at Alessa and waited for her reply to his previous question.

User Image Kry had fired the blast while being shot up and it went off into the distance with a low rumble being heard where it eventually went off on its own. Kry felt the breeze go across his face and sighed. He looked down on where he was standing and could tell Jareth had sent him pretty high pretty quickly on a single pillar. He did catch a glance at the one way off the island other than flying or swimming, which was the ship that was owned by the now famous Captian Kat as other students would call her. She would provide resources to both sides and was nuetral for the most part as even if she was the Treasurer for the Student Counsel here on the island money didn't mean much and she had seemed to have found a new hobby. He couldn't wait to haggle with what they managed to find with her. Though he would probably have to wait until she informed both sides, had everything unloaded, and talked to her friends.

He questioned on how to get down if Jareth wasn't going to do it, but decided to just jump. He started to grab what seemed to be thin air and slowly slid to the ground as sparks could be seen from where his hands met the sky. Upon reaching the ground he looked at Jareth and frowned in shame. "I am sorry for the trouble I have caused everyone... I think we should not act like that, but I can't help it sometimes. He looked at the three who were probably unaware or didn't care that he almost attacked them. "I am sorry for any troubles. If you still wish to, let's discuss this event we will be doing together." He says raising his head again with enthusiasm and a smile.

Palian

Only when you walk the line of nothingness...

Palian watched the exchange with a mild expression on his face. He made sure to keep his hand in Tsukiko's, a sign that he wasn't so easily brushed off. She was showing signs of fatigue, but was choosing to lean on the girl instead of him. It was a confusing notion, but he let it slide for now for it appeared the girl was of importance to her.

When Tsukiko introduced him to the girl, he nodded his head, but remained otherwise silent. He didn't know this girl, despite the little Tsukiko had shared. And the fact that this person of importance had been conveniently absent until now did not rub well on his sense of loyalty. Even the sidekick who also remained suspiciously absent, ie Ryo, had at least been around in the beginning.

Palian wondered what sorts of things these people had been doing this whole time, that even when their attempts at coaxing Tsukiko to come out of her shell had failed, they hadn't come to the others for assistance. So many mistakes and things done wrong, he thought. They really are such children.

While the girls talked, he couldn't help notice the two men in the middle of the beach. They must have been the ones to send the treasure hunt invitation, but what struck him as odd was that one of them started to surround himself with swirls of wind and power. Before he had time to ask what the young man was about to do, the other one shot the first high into the air. Palian's gaze followed him up until he had to crane his neck to keep the man in sight.

"I'm glad I came back," he murmured to no one in particular, a smirk lighting his eyes as the man floated back onto the sands. "There really is a lot of interesting things here."

... Can you truly understand the difference between life and death.

Jareth

Jareth watched as Kry came down from his perch, the boom from his blast echoing across the open waters. He should have known that such a measure would do little to actually stop Kry. However, when the young man landed, he was much calmer and more level headed than before. It made Jareth wonder if all he needed was to blow off a little steam, which he was happy to oblige.

Only then, when the crisis was averted and his leader safely on the ground once more that he let the pillar collapse back to the ground in a rush of harmless sand. Then he turned to take in the people that had joined them.

The young woman, whose name he did not recall, was still talking with Miya. She looked tired and a little uneasy on her feet. He wasn't at all confident in letting her go into the cave in that state, no matter what her power was. The other one, an odd man with wings and frills that looked entirely out of place, made him even more ill at ease. He couldn't exactly pinpoint the reason, but Jareth knew that he needed to keep an eye on that one.

Captain Katanna

Sure, can't wait to see you too. Be there as soon as I can. We came back sooner, because we managed to hit a payload bigger than we anticipated. Tell ya more when I see you.

The captain's strides lengthened as she made it out to the beaches again. Sooner she got her business done, the sooner she could kick back and relax. After she passed a few people on the beaches, she took a turn off that lead into the woods. The path was narrow, but it wasn't usually changed, thank the gods, so she didn't have to worry about getting lost. She passed one fork in the path, a smaller line that lead to the inlet where her sip sat anchored, sounds of her crew still at work wafting up as she continued on.

Soon the forest opened up again to reveal a secondary beach, the one that Kry and all those who wanted to go on the treasure hunt, had gathered. Having been resigned to go all the way to the campsite, she was relieved to see the wave master. It made all this running around seem less tedious. One of the things Kat was going to invest in was a more advanced system of communicating with everyone. This hoofing it was the pits.

"Kry!" she called out with a waving hand above her head. She brought herself within talking distance before adding, "Hey, we just got in. Thought you guys could use some of the haul. " She paused to catch her breath and take in all the others nearby. Smiling at the sight of Tsukiko, it was good to see her out and about at last, Katanna was surprised to see the dream demon in toe. Wasn't he dead? she thought. Oh well, too much to do and too little time to sit here pondering over things that really didn't effect her one way or the other. But she was happy for the ice wielder. At least that was one thing going right.

"We'll be setting up shop soon enough, so I'll give you guys a hollar again when we're ready. And just a friendly heads up, I got some more tech for your guy to tinker with. If he can help us out, I'm sure we can work out a fine compensation for it." Then she winked and turned on her heels back the way she came.

The trip back to the caves took even less time than the trip out, including stopping by to see how the crew was managing. They waved her on with smiles and laughter, most all the haul had been taken care of. Some of them were already heading to the caves to grab much needed hot food.

The council room that had never been used as such thus far was easy enough to find. There was no door, so when Kat walked in she was surprised to see Ace wasn't alone. Her smile faltered only slightly at seeing the DC captain. My she gets around, she thought bitterly. Then her smile brightened again as she saw him.

"It has been too long," she announced, taking her hat off of her head and striding confidently into the room.
