How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?
Dear Journal,
I returned from a trip to gather medical herbs with Vallarah to find Casseth up and about, speaking with Araceli. It worried me, of course, and I immediately ushered and helped him back to his bedchamber, but more crucial to the event was what transpired after.
He insists on following Detraeus. It wounds me, to think that after all that the man has done to him, and after all I have tried to do for him, he is willing to risk ever seeing me again for the blind shot at attempting to bring his assailant back to us. I do not want him to go. I think it foolish, and hopeless, and ridiculously dangerous. If Detraeus had wanted our friendship, he should not have betrayed it, and if he had wanted our company, he should not have fled from it. He does not deserve Casseth's persistence as it is, but so it seems he has it anyway.
I will pray every day until Casseth's return.
Sincerely, Lithian Bhardvaris

Gentle Soldier of My Soul
Dear Journal,
My god returned Casseth to me today. I am awash in gratitude and cannot imagine a greater relief than to have him back in my arms. I feared so much.
Sincerely, Lithian Bhardvaris

Making Waves
Dear Journal,
Despite the path I took - that of a soldier, rather than a civilian - hurting others has never come naturally to me. My goal always was and has been - and will be, for that matter - to help when I can and mitigate when I cannot, with violence, I hope, as a last resort.
Today I strayed from that path in a way which shook me to the foundation of those desires. I nearly killed a man. I have not ever, yet, taken the life of anything but beasts, and never do I hope to. But today, with Detraeus, I edged closer to the possibility than ever I have before.
It terrified me.
Sincerely, Lithian Bhardvaris

Fine Lines
Dear Journal,
In my shaken state, in the aftermath of my confrontation with Detraeus, I spoke with Casseth. I still do not understand why he or Araceli insist on trusting the man, but he consented to ceasing his matches at the pit, and for that, I am beyond grateful. It will at least be one great weight of concern off of my shoulders.
Sincerely, Lithian Bhardvaris

Where the Sea Meets the Shore
Dear Journal,
Casseth left the pit today, officially. We discussed a place of our own - a home of our own - and Casseth seemed enamored with the idea as I. The concept leaves me awash with hope and anticipation for the future.
Sincerely, Lithian Bhardvaris

Facing the Wind
Dear Journal,
After being refused by her many times, and conversing with Detraeus once the day previous, today Araceli permitted me in to give her my apologies. I still feel as though my anger was justified, but I did not mean to hurt or scare her so. It is a great relief to me that she has not shut me out permanently, for that would be a loss I would not know how to bear.
Sincerely, Lithian Bhardvaris

A Space to Call Home
Dear Journal,
I spoke to Casseth some days prior of a small building from which I hoped to begin running a personal business as a healer. Today, we looked at it together. Among other things. It was, I would say, a success.
Sincerely, Lithian Bhardvaris

Building a Foundation
Dear Journal,
Casseth stole me away from a quiet evening of work to reveal that he has begun work on a house on Eowyn's shoreline. A house. Of our own. Just the two of us. It is still in the framework stage, but the foundation is laid, and there are steps from the back deck which walk directly down into the ocean. I am ever blessed to have him in my life.
Sincerely, Lithian Bhardvaris
