This is what i feared when Lyra was made but i think she has been named something different? Or was that only Carrot Top and the Faunie that Teig has? If not i think i may just be joining you in getting them mixed up if she starts bring rped more. XD

Lira looked back at Kaiden and then at her though still scared and shy a little to speak so she wasn't picking up anything about her well being yet and so she just gently nodded and got the courage up once again to speak albeit softly "a little, i guess, at least for the time being as i am here with a dear friend of mine, thr green Faun over there" she said gesturing to him "his name is Kaiden and hes promised to take care if me...well, all of us really, i think hes a hunter for the tree." Feeling silly now she and kaiden didn't know that much about each other other then the basics and even then she still seemed to not even know some of the basics with him so she had work to do "i guess, if truth be told, im looking for more friends, I promised him i would try to have fun on this trip if only for him but if I am going to be here i might as well try to make friends as well.

I...just really don't know how to go about that, I never actually tried to make friends before...well, once i have but that turned out to be a disaster so Kaiden was my first true friend so i guess, being out here, as much as i love Kaiden's company i feel it might be a more fun journey if i could perhaps make friends with someone else, thinking thst starting at home might be best and, admitedly, i have been curious about your kind. I don't leave my room much byr when i do i have heard about you and your Faunies fro different Faunes so hence why i thought i would seek your company and possible friendship, if i was going to start with anyone it might as well be the leader of your kind." Lira said as she started blushing, she never speaks this much but when she gets up the courage she can actualky talk a Paes ear iff and this IS her usual self, if anything, Kaiden has taught her to open up a little more and be herself, something she had hidden fro theworld for so long but even now she felt foolish for speaking too much.

"I'm sorry, you didn't need to hear all that, it had been a while since i have been brsve enough to be myself around another that isn't Kaiden so i fuess i got a little carried away" she said to the other hoping she wasn't going to hate her or find her annoying or something, it had just been too long since she spoke to another Pae that she was well out of practise.

Coronus who now saw the jar in the sun light was horrified of what was suspended inside the jar. Faerie wings she stood there frozen when the faeries were looking it over and decided it was not that important. She had the urge to want to put the creepy bottle back into the mound but she really did not want to go back into that creepy place also they seemed to be leaving. She placed the jar inside her bag carefully. While walking back she realized none of the faeries had gone inside the mound. They also seemed happy about someone finding something. Was this really a vacation for the pae or were they being used.

The way this faun kept talking brought a smile to the princess's lips, as it reminded her faintly of Pinkie Pie's tendencies, with it being so continuous and erratic. It was a bit amusing how, even here in this land, there were others with similar personalities. But that was to be expected, and it was rather old to still be calling this land as something other than their own. Yes, her heart would always hold true to her memories, to her homeland, but this was her land too now. Her people's, all of their's, land.

It was a bit of a shame that she was not one for drawn-out replies or conversation, but especially with trying to hold this conversation would making eye contact, it would have to hold as such. Really, truly a shame. She ought to be excited with the opportunity to befriend someone else from the tree, a true faun, outside of the authority (which were all she had seemed to speak with since her arrival), yet these curses visions plagued her from doing such.

Perhaps Clairvoyance was right... she thought to herself, having to refrain from laughing lightly as she could feel the mellon shining smugly in her conscience. Maybe she really ought to be getting help for this...

Instead, she merely shook her head again, talking in that soft, soothing tone of hers, "I am honored you feel you can open up to me. It is a little strange, if not sad, how my people and yours continue to refer to me as their leader," Where she might have spoken with a tone of bitterness not long ago, her tone instead was wearied. She gave a small sigh before continuing, "Yes, that was true in past times, but now I am no different than you or those I once led. We faunies are the same, if not a little different in appearance..." she flexed her wings as if to emphasize her point, "... as you native to the Great Tree."

Throughout it all, her eyes remained downcast, to the ground. It was as if she was reading aloud or speaking with herself, rather than acknowledging the pae she spoke with. She did it in a highly-inoffensive, if noticeable at all, manner however.

"There is a little part of me, not sure why or how, that feels I can open up to you, maybe it is a vibe you put off or something but, like Chief Rais, you seem easy to talk to" she said as she smiled at her "and you will always be their leader" she said softly, pleased she hadn't thought her odd "you all may have come here but you still hold respect with your people, to them you will always be their leader even if they now also have a leader in my own, Chief Rais is a wise man and a great leader, your people may now also look to him but they will forever still hold you in high regard and that will never change" she said, hoping to ease her mind a little on matter at hand. "To your Faunies though you will forever be leader, you guided them here, you helped them when they needed it, you protected them and cared for them when they needed it the most, you may be one of the 'normal Faunies' now but what you did for them when they were coming to this new land doesn't just vanish over night, what you were back home doesn't just vanish either, you mean a great deal to your people no matter what you are and if they still think of you as their leader besides accepting mine as theirs as well then that is a good thing, not one that should be dismissed" she said as she found a place next to her to sit down.

Watching her flex her wings she smiled a little more "you may be different bit that is what makes you special, as a native of the Tree, I am pleased and thankful you have arrived here, it gives us a new look, we are not just one type of Faun anymore we have another that belong with us, regardless of appearances we are still one family and I couldn't be happier to have you and your own join us...even if I do still need to meet some of them" she said, knowing that it was a little sad she hadn't meet a Faunie yet besides the one she is talking to now, she truly did have to remedy that. Looking the woman over she noticed she wasn't looking at her and whilst she was curious she let it go, it was her business and whilst she wanted to ask what was wrong she knew better then to poke her nose into anothers business so she let it go, IF she wanted to talk she would give her an ear but it was up to her, she wouldn't pester her into telling her what was on her mind she just hoped what was on her mind wasn't too much of a burden for her.

Zecora smiled as she was praised for her discovery. "Dis is most unexpected." she acknowledged the fairies. "Many thanks for letting me keep dis." Zecora was truly thankful for it wasn't the value of the pot she cared about it, but its genuine usefulness. She had half-expected the fairies would keep it with how they reacted to it, Zecora would have been sad at the loss. She walked away happy with her new treasure, it would be perfect for making certain remedies. She had not expected to find something so useful in the mound. Zecora headed back to the campsite with a stride in her step before settling down for the night.

Twizzz didn't even notice that the ring was now permanently affixed to his finger, he hadn't tried to take it off. "But isn't it beautiful?" he asked the fairies, wishing that he had Yipes to show it too. They were just fairies anyhow, they didn't seem to care much about the treasures despite wanting to check everything out. What was so nice about a jar, it wasn't even pretty and he was certain it wasn't a candy jar. The demon admired the ring one more time before following the group to the campsite, it didn't want to be stuck at this place any longer then necessary.

The fairies had kept them moving, so Ranuin hadn't had time yet to catch up with Apple Bloom and show her what he'd found. He'd met back with his father and Raina briefly, but the parchments his father had picked up hadn't held his interest long. He'd set off to see what some of the others had found in their explorations instead.

Now, it seemed the fairies were going to let them rest a while. Good thing, because even the energetic teen was starting to wane a bit. All the excitement and adventure had started to wear on him...totally nothing to do with the creepy sounds of laughter that he'd never managed to find the source.

Camp had been made, the others had staked out their tents and settled in, and there was a general feeling of relaxation throughout the camp, though the humidity and lurking insects at the edge of the effect area of the bug spray may have tainted the nice setting a bit. Ah well.

He wasn't trying to spy or anything. Really. He couldn't help that his sharp ears picked up a nearby conversation that also peaked his interest. Well, at first. He had started to get dizzy, listening to the Faun with horns talk in circles and repeat herself. He'd wonder if all adults were so confusing, but they were usually confusing for other reasons.

The more he listened, the more he frowned. He knew the winged lady was nice, but...this one with the horns was saying some strange things. Some that didn't sit well with the teen for some reason. She kept saying things like 'your people' as if she wasn't a Faun herself. Or that the other was something odd. Ranuin was quite familiar with the Faunies. He'd been there when they'd been welcomed home to Laisidhiel. One of his best friends, Moonlight, was a pegasus fauny; in fact, if he remembered right, the lady with the rainbow hair was her aunt.

So why did this lady keep acting like they were so different?

Giving in to teenage impulse, the wolf-like teen broke from listening subtly, leaning over the log he'd been leaning against to speak. "What's the big deal with looking different?" he asked the tan Faun with a frown. "You say we're all the same, then you keep saying things like 'you people', like we're not. All 'cause they look different? Cause they have horns and wings? Or is it the different hooves?"

Unnoticed by himself, a subtle growl had slipped into his voice, his long tail swishing behind him. He hadn't even realized his irritation was growing. Just, the thought of someone pointing out to Moony how different she was, making her feel like she didn't belong...it had wormed into his head and made him angry. "We're all just Faun. That's it. If everyone looked the same, that'd be dumb. You don't keep pointing out how different people are. Besides, you got horns too; no branch antlers. Faun and Fauny, what's the difference?" Rising to his feet, the teen planted one of his paws on the log, his tail swishing in short, abrupt movements behind him. "If it was that big of a deal what shape your hooves are, then what the heck would you say I am?"

Lira looked up at the new commer and whilst she listened...sort of, she didn't stay where she was either, having heard the growl in his voice she, being the shy faun that she was, quickly got up and hid behind the Fauny, she didn't mix with others as it was and so having what seemed to be an upset teen was SO not something she was used to and nor did she feel like getting used to it now. Why oh why couldn't she have just stayed at home?

Had she any inkling about what a horrible mistake she had made, the demonic would have gone straight to a fairy. As it was however, she was content to have it sit upon her head. She was never one for 'accessorizing' as jewelry seemed gaudy and a waste of time, but there had been well...something about that circlet. Something mysterious. Besides, she had to get some sort of souvenir for her troubles. Moving back to the group, she didn't venture off again until they arrived at camp. It was easy to forget her new trinket as it simply sat on her head.

Kaiden was sure to stick to the group, always one to follow the rules. Others were rewarded with 'treasures' for their exploring, but he was content with simply not being eaten...by well, anything except the bugs. Does this bug spray do anything? He always kept one eye on Lira though. He didn't want to stick to her side like a thorn, as he secretly hoped this trip would open her up more to other pae'il. But at the first sign of danger, he would be there to protect her. He was more than happy to stroll along the edges of camp, taking in the peaceful nature of the area...that was of course, until he noticed Lira suddenly ducking behind the rainbow haired faun-esc pae. He quickly walked over, his body language nonthreatening but on edge. "Hello there! Hope you don't mind me dropping in." Lira seemed to be cowering from the male pae. He turned his attention to the teen with a flash of a smile. "How is everyone doing?" Hopefully his bright and friendly personality would diffuse the situation...maybe. Vacations were supposed to be fun after all.

Celestia had started to brush over the words that came out of the other faun's mouth. It wasn't that she was bored, exactly, and it wasn't done on purpose, but what she said was something she had heard on so many occasions from so many different sources seemingly forever ago that it held little interest with her anymore. In fact, the notion that such a thing still had to be repeated yet again was a little irritating, though this may have more to do with the fact that the princess could not look at the person with whom she conversed rather than what was being said. It made her feel like she was being quite offensive, yet she knew there was no other choice if she wished to speak with those resembling the vision of war.

Though, how could she know what the fauny would continue to think of her? Sure, yes, they were now living together, and little divides remained between them, but she had not journeyed with them, from Equestria. As much as she hated to feel it, it was almost offensive to pretend she knew their struggles and their past.

When another voice chimed in, she hesitated slightly before looking up at the young teenager. He, thankfully, had an appearance different enough as to not trigger her thoughts, and she could look at him directly. That certainly made things easier.

Raising her hands, she motioned for the boy to calm down. "Now, now... No need to excite yourself. Certainly she meant nothing ill of her words, even if they may have come out other than intended." The princess motioned her head in the direction of Lira, surprised to find that she had moved behind her, eyes downcast so as to not look at her directly, "Mentioning of a distinction was meant to show empathy, that even if our origins, our cultures, our appearances differed, we could now continue to converge into one people... Yes...?"

She returned her gaze to Ranuin, not having to look down. Perhaps this was noticeable if you looked carefully enough. "Relatively speaking, us fauny might still be considered new in the tree. For adults of either side, learning to fully integrate with each other's culture requires more time than for the young; we are quite stubborn in our ways after all. From my understanding, even the Chieftain required time to grow accustomed to the presence of wings. He might still be doing so, even if it is not vocalized." How much of this did she actually believe herself, as applied to the current situation? "I do not mean to say that it is acceptable in the long-term, of course, but some might require more time to adjust than others. Please do not take offense to it, unless, of course, offense is meant of it..."

The sound of another voice caught Celestia's attention enough to look at Kaiden, her eyes darting away as his eye fell from its socket, blood dripping from his cheek down his torso and onto cracked ribs. Her voice cracked a little, very subtly, "N-no, no, please join."

Having obtained one of the four ancient relics they were after, the fairies were pleased. They had several more stops on this tour; 7 more, to be exact, and they were certain they'd find the other 3. The next stop they knew would not contain a canopic jar, but it'd be good for the Pae'il.

While the camp was being taken down, one of the tour guide fairies made an announcement. "Today we'll be learning more about the jungle and hiking through denser overgrowth. Once again, make sure you wear your bug repellent to avoid getting eaten or carried away. We will face more humidity, less sunlight, and more little critters that want to snack on you." The fairy chuckled at his joke, knowing full well it wasn't a joke, but Pae needn't know.

The weed-whacker fairies wielded their machetes and started carving out a path in preparation for today's hike.

Another tour guide fairy spoke up, "For those of you concerned about the damage being done to the jungle with the machete, please understand that we would not be able to get through any of the undergrowth without cutting it away, and jungle vegetation is very resilient and grows fast. On today's hike, I will point out things of interest, including the plants that you are allowed to gather and bring back to camp."

"Please be mindful if you come across a Nepenthes rafflesiana, which has been observed eating many small critters. Baskets and buckets will be provided upon request, and anything you dig up, you carry yourself."

---

Today is a regular hike in the jungle. Pae'il will encounter many types of wildlife, including large tarantulas, man-eating ants, poison dart frogs, bushmasters (snakes), cobras, boa constrictors, jaguars (new to the island, unknown how they got there), ocelots, harpy eagles, macaws, spider monkeys and baboons. If Pae stay on the path, the fairies will protect them. Adventurous and curious pae who stray are on their own.

There will be several rare plants that they will pass by, and Pae'il are allowed to take them for purposes of replanting for farming purposes, or for potions or spellwork.
  • Bananas
  • Coffee beans
  • Various nuts
  • Cacao
  • Rubber Tree
  • Sapodilla
  • Several types of Bromeliads (like pineapple tops)
  • Bamboo
  • Many different types of fungus
  • Ferns
  • Plants that make good spices when dried, such as Devil's Tongue, Jungle Rose, Pearl Flower, Purple Nettle, and Titans Orchid.
  • Magic reagents such as Bee Fern (attracts bees-good for farmers), Dawn Singer (stinky flower), Fairy Queen (considered most beautiful flower in the world, it is very rare), Jungle Bells (collects rainwater, which mixes with pollen to create a natural sleeping potion), Lizard Tongue bush (very slimy), Purple Kiss (like a purple dandelion during the white fluffy stage), and Witch Petal (poisonous)

This means the island can finally have chocolate, coffee, bamboo and nuts, (should pae choose to take them home and grow them) which previously shouldn't have been on Telrunya as they did not exist. Bananas grow in many trees around the beaches, so they're not that rare but will provide a good free snack.

Pae'il are free to explore, but please assume they are moving as a group. They're allowed to fan out, but not too far as to keep within the fairies' protection. Those with wings can move over the dense undergrowth, but Faun and Naiad may find it challenging to move through the vegetation.

Digging will also yield useful roots, and possibly other things.

((Please list what plants your Pae gathers, if any.))

Really? She was going to run and hide behind the other? Wow. For someone who wanted to start being so aggressive with their words, she sure didn't stand behind them when confronted on them. Coward. She'd practically been assaulting Moony's auntie with her words a moment before, if he could trust the discomfort he'd sensed from the white alicorn. And now the beige female was hiding behind her.

His protective nature had flared, even if he himself didn't fully understand it at first. But, when Celestia held up her hands he quieted his growling, hackles lowering. He wasn't sure he believed everything she was saying, but he listened politely, cause that's how he'd been taught. Still, he didn't remember that being what he heard a few minutes ago. Or thought he'd heard. When Celestia finished, he sighed, looking aside and muttering just loud enough to be heard, "Why do you adults have to make things so complicated then?"

Huffing, he scanned the new arrival with his eyes. He'd seen him about the Tree before, but that was it. He held no other recognition for the green Faun. He dismissed him, shrugging a bit. Instead, he turned back to Celestia, seeming sheepish now, staring at the ground and shuffling his paws. He reached up and rubbed his neck, glancing up at her. "You're...Moony's aunt, aren't you? I'm...sorry if I was rude," he said in a rush, all the air of a child who got caught sneaking a treat before dinner, but knew better than to lie to a parent. Really, he had no problem with the white-furred lady. "Moony talks about you a lot," he admitted, staring at his paws again. To be honest, with as much as his friend talked about her, he felt he might as well have known her. And he wasn't going to let anyone pick on his friend's auntie.

The fairies' interruption was almost welcome. "Sorry again," he blurted to Celestia, scampering off to make a show of packing up his single bag to get ready to move out. As the band of Pae'il began marching again, he kept Celestia in sight, though he didn't travel next to her, he wasn't ever far away. Though...he did stop a time or two to dig a hole in a particularly interesting section of jungle before resuming fighting his way through the thickening foliage. It was a habit he'd never really managed to shake.

It wasn't that she didn't want to back what she was saying, she did, truly she did but she hadn't exactly come up against others before to actually speak to them, regardless who they were, this Fauny and Kaiden were the only two Pae she had actually met...well, besides the teenager now, sort of, she stuck to herself in her room 95% of the time that when she did venture out it was nothing more then nodding hello to a passing Faun in the tree unless she actually had to speak to one of them like the Seamstress or one of the Circle members or something. Lira looked up and smiled a little as she saw Kaiden come and ran to his side and took his arm, hiding herself behind him still a little, not wishing to stand at the front of Kaiden but not entirely wanting to hide behind him either, she wanted to be brave and face the teenager head on but she was still, for the most part, scared of talking to anyone else, it was hard to talk to the Fauny that was sitting there but now him? She knew she had to mingle with others on this trip, she wasn't that ignorant, but the fact that her first meeting with another Pae was interrupted by an upset teenager wasn't exactly a meeting she was wishing to partake in.

"I...I apologize for what was said, I didn't mean to upset you" she said softly and meekly, half hidden still behind Kaiden "but as she said, I didn't mean anything by it and yes, that was what I was getting at" she said as the Fauny explained "I am sorry if I said something wrong it truly wasn't my intention..." she said as she trailed off, wanting to say something else but decided against it, right now she just felt like she could cry, this had gotten a little too much for her, all she wanted was to make a friend and now this happens. Thankfully though, the teen had left "kaiden, please, it will be best if we went also" she said as she looked back at the Fauny "I apologize if I have upset you, I promise, it was never my intention" she said as she smiled softly at her "and it was also rude of me to never introduce myself, I am Lira and this, as you know, is Kaiden, I shall leave you to it, once again I am truly sorry for what I said" she said bowing to her a little as she started to turn to leave, apparently they were moving on and she had to get back to their stuff and figure out the next part of their little adventure, thankfully the 'distraction' will stop her from crying.

Big Mac followed the group along the path. He listened carefully to the fairies and his red ears perked in his straw-colored mane to the words 'plants' and 'gather'.

If he could gather some plants to take back to the farm, they'd be back in business in no time! Big Mac was excited now, and upon approaching the first plant, he quickly requested a pair of baskets. As new plants were listed in their journey, he made mental notes as to which were which and gathered seed pods from each. Given the climate they were currently in, Big Mac also made a mental note to build a large greenhouse to give a more 'tropical' environment for the plants to grow in.

It's true that the Apple family ran an apple farm. However, most of those that lived in Ponyville - previous to the move - knew that Sweet Apple Acres also grew various other crops to keep food in the market fresh. Sure, there were other farmers, but a lot of the food in Ponyville came from their farm.

After a bit of a bummed moment from yesterday's venture, Big Mac was feeling pretty giddy today!

((*Big Mac took with him seeds (and some fruit) from Bananas, coffee beans, Cacao, Sapodilla, Some Bamboo (cause let's face it, in a few years, that crap will be excellent building materials for huts and stuff), the various spices, a Fairy Queen seed pod (if able), and if he can find a jar in Rarity's bag with her permission, he's gathering some Bee Fern too.*))

"Ah, yes, I am. Her mother and I are sisters," the princess replied warmly, thankful that the tensions had seemed to ease down quite a bit. This was a nicer topic. "Worry not over that; adults can be quite strange at times. It is nice to hear that she has made such a kind friend; you simply must come join her some afternoon for tea and treats." Again, hearing him talk brought a genuine smile, perhaps the first in a very long time, to her lips. "She does? In a pleasant manner, I should hope," she took an almost cheeky tone as she added, "Else she may not be getting as many sweets next I see her."

His shouting took her by surprise, the sudden change in volume causing her to visibly jump in place and her breath to catch in her throat. She sighed, calming herself once again, as he ran off. Oh... Teenagers... Strange bunch, aren't they? Guess they ought to get a move on then too.

It was this thought that she remembered the others beside her, they having been so quiet as she calmed the boy down. Standing up, she closed her eyes as she faced them and shook her head, looking to the clouds rather than them as she spoke. "You needn't apologize. Sometimes, even with the best intentions, we may fail to properly explain ourselves." She returned her posture, if not her eyes, which remained downcast, to them. "And I am Celestia. It is a pleasure to have made acquaintance with the both of you today."

There was a rush of relief as the two of them went away and she could be on her own again. That... That was quite draining on her emotional strength.

The prospect of finding fun things to bring back and cultivate for her pastries cooking was quite exciting. Just about everything that was mentioned was edible was taking in stride to add to her bag, in a space just beside the doll. Thought and care went into making sure that it wasn't dirtied by any of the plants put in. It was especially nice to be able to fly above the undergrowth to get to some of the higher-growing ones, or just to save some effort in movement.

After she had gathered a sufficient amount of items, she noticed a (recently) familiar shape digging holes and flew over towards him. "Do you search for something?"

She took a few bananas, a decent amount of beans, nuts, and cacao, and all of the plants meant for spices. One or two bromaliad too, cause they're pretty. If she were to see a Fairy Queen, she would surely pick it as well.

Zaden was peeved to no end when the staff shattered in her hands. She had intended to whack a few pae with it, perhaps even take it home and do the same with her sister. She didn't even notice when the blue swirl surrounded her then entered her during the midst of her temper tantrum that had followed the breaking of the staff. By the time she was done having her fit the 'glass' orb was all that remained and she fetched if off the floor, perhaps i can lob this dumb thing at some fairy-bug she thought to herself in a huff and returned to the group to see them moving out. She hurried after them staying visible for the time being.

Wear her repellent? but she wanted scare away those bugs not herself she thought to herself in a huff crossing her arms. Zee didn't care at all about the whacking of the jungle it amused her more then anything she'd even contemplating stealing one of the machetes or maybe even catching one of the fairies, perhaps it could be trained! She followed after the group staying on the path so for now not needing to go invisible since the fairy-bugs were protecting them

(( picking things to replant doesn't interest Zaden she doesn't pick anything
and I am saving her trigger for a good time wink I haven't forgotten about it ))
