Rochelle and Kibeth Burn post HP 43/55 Thread Remaining: 29/96
Only a little more. Searing pain, angry Kibeth, and they ducked, weaved, and, in Kibets mind, looked very impressive. She flamed at more, hissing in between burns.

Malcarreth: HP: 30/41 Agility: 5 --------------
Too tired for words, quips, even real thought now Malcarreth took another chunk of firestone from C'tis and burned down more Thread. His muscles screamed at him. His wings felt like lead. Was it possible to actually fall from the sky with weariness? Maybe he would ask later, if doing so himself right now thus causing his death didn't prohibit further questions of any kind.

Rochelle and Kibeth damage post HP: 35/55
...that was not good. Her pain distracted the both of them, unused to the sting on her back. Rochelle narrowed her eyes, the two of them soaring, burning thread and - thread. Thread on her hand and where she held the strap. They blinked between, quick, Rochelle trying to ignore the hurt again. Elbow to the back of her wrist, the pain sending her into hard silence.

Etasha and Coryxoth // Burn Post
Coryxoth was failing. Or perhaps Etasha was failing, and Ryx was just responding to her pain - she hardly knew anymore. Were the shooting lines of pain down her back her own pain, or were they sympathetic echoes through the bond of the black's aching wings?
He was a small beast, smaller even than most of his color. Blacks and greens and blues weren't expected to last a full Fall. He would, if she asked it of him - he had the heart and the courage in him to try. She wasn't sure how fair it was to ask, but right now Trine needed them to try.
One of the falling tangles of Thread had already been flamed by a bronze, but not completely seared away; it was falling, and separating as it fell, little bits and shreds of deadly filaments falling to earth. Coryxoth flamed as much of it as he could get in one go, but the rest of it drifted over them.

Etasha and Coryxoth // Damage Post
Between!
But you said-
I don't care! Just go between!
The black complied. They vanished. Moments later they reappeared, well out of harm's way, if somewhat soot-stained and shaken from the close brush with possible death.

NPC - Wingsecond Vorith K'tar Huge/slim. HP: 10/56 Agility: -5 -----------------
Vorith cried out to his wing, truly his for the first time, seeking to instil hope and trying to keep his own pain out of his voice. It had been a hard fall, experienced riders down and trying so hard to put on a good show. Not long now though, soon the Thread would be gone and he would return to his mate as would K'tar to his.

F'nell and Brown Krith- Damage Post
The thread came behind him, in the one place that F'nell wasn't looking, and as it struck the brown's tail, he flicked between instinctively. They were not fighting very well, and F'nell patted his dragon's hide.
You okay?
The brown remained silent, though he sent his a reassuring thought before returning to his position. He wasn't the most talkative dragon in the first place, and he needed all of his concentration to finish out this threadfall.

Vorith Damage: 8 + 5 = 13 HP: -3
Even as the bronze spoke, silence descended upon him.
K'tar had been about to respond but a tangle of Thread whisked through the air. Whether it was turned by an unlucky gust or missed by another dragon the world would never know. It didn't matter anyway, the consequences were the same.
K'tar opened his mouth to reply, looking over his shoulder, and the great mass caught him full in the face.
Vorith let out one agonized incoherent cry, and vanished between forever.

Rochelle and Kibeth Burn Post HP: 35/55
They had to keep going. Tired because of the pain and unfamiliar exercise, the crimson and her rider continued in silence. Rochelle had to let go of the harness every so often to gasp at the sharp sting, her fingers flexing to ease the agony with more.

Malcarreth ---------
<...Shaff. Vorith's gone.> Gone. An empty chill spread through Malcarreth's exhausted body and for a moment he glided motionless, hardly able to believe what he had just seen and felt. A moment later he recovered himself and let out a great bellow, and then a jet of flame to avenge his fallen kin. Bronze or not he hadn't wished Vorith dead.

Vorith! screamed Singhath, at the same time that Idris cried out “Stay in formation!” The words sprang unbidden from her mouth, even whipped away by the wind and the speed of Singhath’s flight as they were, as if vocalizing them could lend more force to her command.
The silver keened in frustration but obeyed. Take up the center of the formation, Idris commanded silently. You're large enough. Let the wing reform around you. We hold together until the Fall passes.
Let all of Trine see that even with both wingleader and wingsecond gone, Dauntless Wing would hold together. They would not fall.

And with Kibeth's last flame the fall ended.
Silence descended and the dragons were free to return to the ground.
Around the Weyr burrows had taken hold where knots of Thread had fallen through and patches of jungle were eaten away to nothing.
The Thread was destroyed but this was not great victory to celebrate. Information- The Thread was destroyed but some damage has been done to the area surrounding the Weyr. This will mean there is less wild game for dragons to hunt in order to supplement their diet. Stores of logs at the logging camp were also destroyed, delaying building projects for the Ten Districts projects.

O'thor and Silver Adamanth HP: 60 Dmg Mod: -1 Thread Burned: N/A Scored: N/A Current Thread: N/A
O'thor whipped his head up at a universal keen from the dragons, the longest and loudest of which came from Dauntless wing. He felt cold. Dauntless was Malvren. Dauntless riders were his people.
Who?
Vorith and His. The Wingseconds. They are gone.
O'thor swallowed hard and bowed his head for only a moment before he returned his eyes to the silver falling before them. That had shown clearly that even an "easy" Fall could go wrong-- he did not want Adamanth and he to be next.
Thankfully, the Fall ended shortly thereafter. Volith and K'tar had been lost only minutes before they would have been safe.

J'nes and brown Hatteth
J'nes and Hatteth had hardly noticed the break from one wave to another, so brief it was. As a result, they fought on through to the end, gritting teeth against the pain of scores as needed. At last the sky was clear for good, and all those who fought Thread were free to land and rest.
Back to the Weyr, J'nes said wearily. We need to get to the healers, you and I, and then back to our weyr to let our mates fuss at the damage we've done to ourselves.
They will not like it, Hatteth replied as they waited for their Weyrleader's signal to head back. Do you think they will be more annoyed or worried?
Now that's a hard question. Probably both in turns, if I know them, and quite vocal about both. He started to stretch tired muscles, winced as his near-empty firestone sack brushed his scored leg, and gathered it up. At least an injury gives me a reason to stay home and tend to the baby. And on that happy note, they popped between with the rest of their wing to head back to the Weyr.
