Gale shrugged a little, giving Ayla a scrutinizing glance. "Divisions are pre-assigned before you're awakened, but if you feel like you could be of more use elsewhere later on, you can request a transfer to a different one." He reached a hand up, idly brushing away a few strands of white blonde hair that had fallen into his face. "There are pros and cons to all of the divisions. As time goes by, you'll probably be able to figure out which lot you fit into best."
He slid his gaze sideways back to Peyton. "Don't worry," he told her. "It'll wear off eventually. Unfortunately, you tend to get used to things far too quickly here."
Like the whole trauma and death thing, his mind said, but Gale shoved those thoughts aside quickly, Jinhai crooning softly inside of his thoughts in an attempt to be reassuring.
The weapon question made his lips quirk upwards, just slightly, as though he might be tempted to smile.
"A sniper rifle," he said. "And you? Picked up your weapon yet?"

Makayla hand went to her wrist as she plays with the bracelet only for the moment. She wasn't really a bracelet kind of girl, so it was taking some time for her to actually get use to it being around her wrist. Though, already she wanted to get rid of it and leave it inside her room. < Haha, you can't do that...And you don't mind me one bit> Taking a long deep sigh, she flicks at the charm for a moment before she lays her hand down on the table. If it wasn't near her face, maybe she could ignore it. "I got a staff...and a rather annoying partner n the process."

A rifle? That had lavender eyes going momentarily wide. Somehow she hadn't really considered the possibility of firearms for as possible weapon options, though she wasn't entirely sure why. It wasn't as if anything on this island followed any set definition of normal, so why should the weapons fall into any specific classification? No reason at all. Lips pursed thoughtfully, she tried to imagine the idea of partnering with a gun, but finally had to concede that choice or not, she was happy with her partner and the form he took. Warrick gave a rumbling laugh in her head, pleased at her acceptance, which Peyton ignored. "Nuckledusters." She grinned, rubbing forefingers along the thick gold bands that circled her thumbs. Warrick wasn't perfect, but Peyton wasn't complaining. She couldn't imagine she was the easiest to get along with, yet h he'd chosen her. That counted for something. She could sympathize with Ayla though. If she'd gotten paired up with someone that she simply couldn't mesh well with.. No. Just no.

Al kept to himself while the others talked. He looked about as brave as a small mouse.

Too bad for Al, Solia liked mice. "Hey." "Hey." She held her pies close. "I need to test these pies." She held up the two. She was pretty sure one was apple. "You just tested one for me." So had others, but then others were doing other things. "Scale of one to ten how good was it? and were any drugs in it?" Serious matters, pies.

"Knuckledusters?" Stormy piped in in her trademark soft voice. "Patches has those too."
It was hard to tell when the little trainee had slumped next to Gale, but one moment she wasn't there and the next she was. And also a pie slice on a plate.
She delicately nibbled it while giving Al a wave.
"Staff's nice too. Clobbering things~" She looked a bit nervous talking at all, but at least she could hide behind the food.

"Patches?" Peyton's head tilted. "That's a nickname, I assume?" If there was someone else on the island with the same kind puff weapon, then Pey wanted to meet them. "Are they here?" She looked around the room as if expecting someone to step forward and raise their hand. Of course that didn't happen. Pale eyes returned to the soft spoken girl that had joined them. "What's your name?" Also division, rank, height.... It was hard to tell with them both sitting down, but Peyton would bet this new girl was within an inch or two of her own height.

Al stared at Solia as if her face just melted. He stared for a while before responding, "um... ... ten, but because apples. Anything with apples is an automatic ten." He might have scooted away from her purely on her drugs question. "No?"
Al noticed movement nearby and lit up at Stormy, "Oh hey." And she was complimenting staves. He might have smiled just a bit too much as a result. "Nuru's a staff." As if she knew who Nuru was all along.

Tuck felt certain that his mission was pretty much accomplished, and slowly started edging towards the door.

Lavander eyes flicked towards the one that had organized this little orientation as he began making his way towards the door.
Peyton sees you, Tuck, and you're not fooling anyone.

< < Astoundingly astute, > > Thane drawled with a mental roll of his eyes, while Stormy bobbed her head at Peyton and then quickly shook it. "Nickname, yes, here, no. I haven't seen her in a while actually . . ." She looked a little down at that realization, but added for the sun hunter's benefit with several gestures, "Reddish hair, tanned skin, eye patch, scars, flipflops, talks funny. Can't miss her.
"Me? Oh, Stormy's just fine. Mist division." Placid as ever, she nibbled some more of her pie as Al came over, again gesturing with her fork. "Aladdin--'Al' works. Staff, too?" Stormy asked curiously, always happy to learn about the different partners hunters had. "Super neat~ Peyton here has one. What're they like, your partners?"

"Ofelia," said Gale, as though Stormy had been sitting there the entire time and it wasn't odd at all that she had just appeared out of nowhere. "She's talking about Ofelia." A small, half sort of smile was visible on his face briefly as he lifted a cup to his lips. "She's a good person, if not a little quirky."
His glance flickered towards Ayla, amusement evident in his eyes as he said, "All partners are annoying at some point or another."
<< Excuse you. >>
"Mine is named Jinhai, and he likes to think he knows everything."
A snort. << Maybe because I do, brat. >>
There was laughter in his head, calm and affectionate. Gale's smile was hidden behind his paper cup of tea, his gaze moving back to Peyton.
"Haven't met anyone with knuckledusters yet, I don't think," he said. "Sounds interesting. That's a proper weapon for a Sun if I ever heard of one, though. You're in Bix's Division; he'll be thrilled and probably try to show you some of his comics. Just punch him in the gut if he does."
He glanced at Al.
"You're a new Deathie, aren't you?" said Gale, eyeing the other with a scrutinizing glance as though taking down notes for future reference.

< He right you know, but I will just be even worse to you now because you called me annoying> Then all the giggles erupted in her head. Makayla hissed a few curse words under her breath as she looks towards Gale for a moment "Is there anyway of getting them to shut up?" please of please, she just needed some way of getting Liyu to shut her mouth. "Her name is Liyu, and right now she acting like a bratty, snot nose child." she pause as she glance around towards the others, suddenly wondering if she blanked out or something. Giving a sheepish wave, she looks back down at her pie.
