After finishing his juice, Derek threw out the box before jumping back into the frey. Sure he was missing a lot, a whole lot, but he was having fun. And that's all that mattered right? Right. Scooping up another balloon or too, he stashed one in his cargo pocket on his swim shorts. Picking his target, Derek through the balloon. Only to miss. Again..
Fun was all that mattered.
Just keep telling yourself that Derek.

Briar thought he’d spotted another of the people who had chucked stuff at him, this time he thought it might be the girl who had recently chucked a balloon at him (Rosie).
He’d been in the process of lobbing his own balloon at her, but had been distracted by someone elses’ balloon (Derek) landing nearby and so his balloon had ended up falling short of its target.

As she was selecting her next balloon Eliza suddenly found herself covered in confetti. Where had that come from? Not only was there confetti but it seemed a few suds had hidden the confetti until it was too late. Eliza looked at the colored bits of paper and tried pulling them off of her jumpsuit.
It seemed as it she owed someone payback. Her green eyes darted around the field and located the likely guilty party. Briar seemingly had suds dripping from his hands. "Oh no you don't! Get back here!"
Eliza ran full tilt towards Briar with a balloon in her hand. As she neared him she let the balloon fly.
Jason had a target in mind, now he could only hope that this next balloon would strike true.... with a toss and his fingers crossed he watched the balloon go soaring.
It landed with a splash and Jason let out a gleefull yell. Jake glared at his friend and shook his fist.... it was on again, like white on rice. Jake would soak Jason if it was the last thing he did.

Jumping slightly at the balloon that burst practically at his feet, Trev whirled around and caught Derek's face. Grinning back, he gave the other boy a friendly wave before lobbing his remaining balloon at the totally threatening tree near Derek.
The Truce was still in effect, but no reason why he couldn't have a little fun at the other kid's expense.
Derek jumped when the balloon hit the tree near him. He glanced from it, to Trev, back to the balloon before darting like a mad man for cover. He was not getting hit. Again. He did, however, find it amusing as hell that he managed to throw of Briar's attack. So that was something to grin about. Grabbing a lone balloon he threw it at Briar agian. And missed.
And suddenly it seemed almost as if it was open season on him with two balloons heading in his direction one after the other, although neither of them reached him.
One of them was the girl that he’d tossed confetti at and Briar tossed his balloon her way, although the throw had been a little half-hearted and the balloon had fallen short of its intended target.
Briar was debating going after the guy who’d tossed the second balloon (Derek) as he ran over to get more things to toss.

Well, one time in ten was a success right?
It had been more luck than any skill that had gotten the flying balloon safely through the air to the target Meagan had intended it to hit.
Was she still bent on revenge? Eliza eyed the remaining pieces of confetti that seemed to be glued to her jumpsuit. Her parents hadn't expressed any concern about their daughter running around in a giant water balloon fight but Eliza wanted to return home somewhat recognizable. Eliza ducked as another balloon sailed overhead. She'd seen that one with enough time to duck. The girl pulled a piece of her bangs into her mouth and chewed it suddenly. Who could she target next? Would she stick to fighting Briar until she hit him? Payback was good. Payback would soothe wounded pride.
Eliza picked up a balloon that had failed to pop upon hitting the ground and followed, mouse-like, after Briar. She drew back her hand to launch the balloon when it suddenly popped, drenching only her hand. Eliza shrugged and ran off as to not be an easy target.
Jason dodged Jake's retaliation balloon and did his best to hit his friend yet again with a balloon but he missed... and nearly hit a girl playing nearby. The balloon burst harmlessly against the ground but Jason still called out a, "sorry' to the girl as he dodged another of Jake's balloons.

Derek mad a mad scramble for balloons as he ducked and weaved through the kids. Seems like the one boy (Briar), was the new target, via the girl who was hiding in his bush earlier. (Eliza)
"Eeeeexcellent." Derek chuckled to himself, doing his best evil mastermind voice. He'd do the weird hand thingy... but that the moment they were kinda preoccupied with balloons. He threw balloons at both of them... and completely missed.

Briar had debated who to go after right up until the point of grabbing another balloon and then had decided to go after the guy – not that his attempt had been any real threat given that the balloon had fallen quite a ways short of its intended target with a rather final sounding ‘plop’.
Ralph was still running around he paused when he saw a new target and grabbed a new balloon. Lets see if he could hit Tev with the new balloon he'd grabbed. He lobbed the water balloon and watched as it hit Tev. "YES!" He jumped and suddenly paused, oops that might've been too loud!

The balloon might have missed but it had attracted Eliza's attention. The splash alone would have caused her to spin around. She caught sight of the boy from earlier and wondered why he targeted her now. Eliza gave Derek an predatory smile before picking up the balloon that rested near her feet. She took a step forward towards Derek and threw the balloon, crossing her fingers as it left her hand.
